Today the worship leader asked me to sing low, he knows that I'm a mezzo-soprano, not a vocal soprano where I'm super high, but a little higher than Alto, I was uncomfortable for a while because I couldn't project because I was singing out of my chest, maybe I was singing a little too low? He told me to sing lower than the Alto next to me...
It's only my opinion, but singers don't spend enough time in high chest voice. They often are discouraged from exploring this challenging section of their voice.

Singing too low is really common. It's very possible. In the method I teach, the "high" part of the voice is usually only the middle of the voice.
