Gangnam Style made Psy's life, it launched him onto the scene, being the first kpop song we had heard before we even knew what kpop was. It brought Psy a whole lot of success and made his career, that should far outweigh any negatives that came with it because Psy as a businessman & Artist is still making the music he loves and performing today, over a decade later from his hit Gangnam Style which goes into history as a pop culture classic
After Gangnam style psy got huge. He released gentleman, collabed with snoop, cl and later Suga, released 3 full albums, made his own label and holds a summer concert in Seoul that attracts thousands. His life is amazing ❤
So many people are spitting out fake news for views. PSY has many big time videos on YT & even explained how Gangnam Style was big even in the US. He loves it & he continued to do multiple videos long after
not a chance.... it gave him enough money to buy out of YG and establish his own agency, also gangnam style is the most ad revenue earning video in youtube ever.
Psy is the one who lured me into kpop. Then in the recommendations I found SNSD GEE and that was it. Ive been listening to kpop for 12yrs and counting. So I have a special place in my kpop soul for him.
My opinion’s about PSY is actually got Influence with K-POP level, you’re blessing in helping others people in need vocabulary getting other’s thoughts support and encouragement people in vocabulary supporting K-POP, I hopefully understand that he influenced training others people who can be supportive and successful as well too
As of today the song Gangnam Style has 5.2 Billion views here on TH-cam. His Gentlemen song has 1.6 Billion views, and the song with Snoop Dogg has 367 million views.
6:05 dude what he did there my sister recently did too, there was legit an ash tray trash can right besides the no smoking sign 💀 can’t blame the smokers there lol
His next release was incredibly successful. Gentleman got 36.8M in a single day something that would never be broken until 2017 that’s 4 whole years. Gentleman hit 100M in just 4 days and for a period of time was the 6th most music viewed video in the world.
the fact that gangnam style was so big, that in romania people did there own version. my friend is still dancing it whenever i start doing a random kpop choreo
Gangnam Style is the definition of Kpop for the general public outside of avid Kpop fans. Gangnam Style is still and probably will be the highest viewed Kpop song of all time throughout every generation. It's garnered more than double the amount of views from respectable second place by Black pink, I guess you could say it's a song that transcends gender, ethnicity, nationality, and age. I'm glad Psy has overcome his slump and learnt to appreciate his song, it doesn't matter if ppl call it a one hit wonder, be it popular or not, it's a still the fruit of his efforts, so take pride in it.
It's success that will never be matched. Like he said in an interview, Psy didn't purposefully make it a worldwide hit, it just caught the perfect storm. Having that immense amount of success and having no way to replicate it is a sad feeling. You feel like a fraud.
Psys problably the most successful k pop artist. He doesnt really do mainstream stuff anymore, instead, he opened his own agency and throws his own Summer festival headlining himself every year making bank.
I really didn't like Gangnam Style (his music style was just not for me) because my middle school would play it every dance we had, and almost every guy would come up to me asking what the song lyrics were saying (I barely know Korean). Despite that, I'm grateful for the kpop genre to be known more internationally.
People are commenting like he isn't human. It's not about the money but the popularity of the music. No one likes to be a "One hit wonder".. If it was your craft, you would eventually become frustrated from being able to branch out from the initial success. Majority of any artistic field that makes money would agree..
I don't understand how that song ruined his life, if it wasn't for that song nobody over here in the West would even know who he was, he was one of the first K-pop artists that I've ever heard in my entire life and it was all because of that song so he needs to be grateful
I guess I'm one of the few that new Psy as a rapper whose name you pronounced it P.S.Y(literally sounding out the letters). I loved Gangnam Style but hated how it was completely everywhere and with everyone mispronouncing his name. I don't think it really ruined his life but it kind of made some people not take kpop seriously for a good while. Everytime i told someone i was a kpop fan they always mentioned the song but that's because all they knew. It still annoyed me to the point i stopped listening to his music. He's still rich and making music so it's whatever.
Bruh he is the one who said I tried to pave the way but the doors were eventually closed I was not able to finish that thing but BTS did he literally tweeted BTS paved the way
Lol many foreigners tend to appreciate him however they always diss other kpop artist either as gay Or just saying how they lack testosterone and stuff, psy dodged that allegations for sure,
I honestly hate Gangnam Style. Hated it then, hate it now, so I get it. His other songs are absolute bops though. Just the one that is awful and made worse by how much Americans over played it.
The biggest crime here is that a horrible shit band called Maroon5 was number 1 in the charts with a song I never heard of. And Psy with the biggest hit of all time was number 2.
gangnam style was a hit! i remember we had to learn the dance in gym class and was tested and scored on it in my school in the usa. it was so fun lmao.
Gangnam Style ruined PSY's life so much that he has to wipe his tears with millions of dollars for the rest of his life.
💀💀👍
Literally
Yes, such a nightmare no1 should have to experience it
LOL
And? Like that doesn't mean he isn't going through things, he can be rich and sad.
PSY got something not many artists get. Worldwide Recognition and appreciation of a song. Ruining your life is a stretch.

Gangnam style got me into K pop. I'm not a fan of PSY but I liked the song and had no idea it was kpop. I researched into it and now I love kpop lol

Both blessings and curses, but you’re totally helping others enjoy yourself and encouragement helping people out in need.
"GANG nam" kookie really? who even are you anymore?! shit.
Literally what are you on about…these cash grabs are getting wild

Ummmm that's not David Cameron it's Boris Johnson
Germany went craaaaazy over Gangnam Style. It was and still is a whole meme in my country. :D Psy brought K-Pop to germany and I'm so happy for this.
@@TabeaSerenetyYESSS I LIVE THERE AND GANGNAM STYLE WAS LITERALLY OUR CHILDHOOD
Germany is weird. They made David Hassellhoff a pop sensation.

Gangnam style made psy life even better and popular and gangnam style brought kpop in global market
That song made the world aware of K-Pop, especially when he performed with MC Hammer in 2012 AMA. That performance is ICONIC.
The title says how it ruined his life and the video ends with him being happy lmao
Fame can be good but Bad Too Remember That Everyone

for me i loved it but i heard it too much so i hated it😭
Imagine having success is the reason of your sadness

truly the god father of kpop
the one that bring k-pop worldwide 😎
one can ruined everything it so true
FYI, that picture of the British prime minister is not David Cameron. It's actually Boris Johnson
Gangnam Style paved the way for me to start listening in to Kpop and for that, I'm thankful.
Gangnam style is THE best kpop SONG ever.
Gangnam Style left, nobody sitted in every age bracket. No party was felt as a party without the Dj playing Gagnam style
I literally had no idea Psy was inspired to make music thanks to a Queen performance 🥺💜💖💕💜💕💖💕💜
That image wasn't David Cameron former British PM, it's Boris Johnson former British PM.

Awe man they played gangman style at my homecoming dandev
Sometime a soloist song being to famous could ruin you. Over pressured.
That photo shown of the Prime Minister of England is not David Cameron. That is Boris Johnson. Do your research.
even my mam likes gangnam style! it’s been part of the birthday playlist since it came out
said david cameron and showed a picture of boris johnson 💀💀💀 girl
