I have the 747-8 plushie. It was the first one I got before getting the entire family series. May I now have it as a memory of my favorite aircraft.

Oh man… the end of an era, I keep enjoying these big boys flying above my house from time to time. Still at 10.000/9000 feet though, but even at that altitude it looks huge!
I'm in one of the ORD flightpaths.....there is no mistaking the four engine roar of a 747.
I know this may sound dumb, but in all honesty this makes me have such an emotional response. This plane is nothing more than the very best.

It has been a pleasure seeing Her Majesty The Queen of the Skies serving the world with all of its needs. The Boeing 747 has certainly been one of the greatest aviation marvels ever built. Thank you Boeing for your incredible job making this jet one of the greatest in the world.

My first flight as a kid was on a 747 from SFO to Buenos Aires Argentina. I fell in love with that beautiful machine. You just felt so safe on it. Farewell to the Queen of the shies!

54 years of 747 production, that's a lot to be proud of. Airbus built the Superpig A380 and never made a dime off the program and stopped making them years ago. The 747 was first, and the 747 was last, and 747s will still be flying long after the last A380 is retired and scrapped or on display in a museum. Long live the Queen of the Skies. 747.
I can predict both may be off the rosters in the next few decades, but the 747 will certainly be the last of them to retire.
My dad is now starting to fly on the 747-8F for Air Belgium. I’m sad to see this beautiful plane being decommissioned but I’m also excited for the future! Thank you, 747, Queen of the Skies.

The upper deck of the 200 variant was the best place to be. With only about a dozen seats, it was like an exclusive club.

In 1969 when I was nine I was liveing outside of Roswell NM at a closed airforce base, Walker AFB. Boeing at the time was using the closed base for flight test for the 747. It had long, wide runway because it was once a B-52 base.I would take my bike to the runway and watch the 747 do touch and go.

How incredibly sad. I’ve been flying all over the world for work for 30 years. Most were long haul flights to Europe or back across the Pacific from LA to Australia. There was nothing like stepping on a 747 for the flight home. It always felt safe and secure. I will miss that feeling greatly. Thanks to the designers and engineers who dreamed up and built such an incredible machine.

Oh man... The memories. I was an FO on the -200, a Captain on the -400. My first ever flight with the airlines was as an engineer on the 200. Jeepers, it's been a while.
