Reduce potential point of failure on first flight. Stuck landing gear is guaranteed write off and no one want it happen to the first plane of the type built. After all even with good engineering no engineer can 100% guarantee nothing will go wrong.
I was there at the Historic Flight Foundation towards the 34L end of the runway, and we got 10 minutes of listening to those GE9Xs idling on the taxiway. It was AWESOME!

even if they get the 737 Max back in the air, who would honestly feel comfortable flying on it. They are not taking into account public opinion and also what are the effects for all the planes that have been grounded and have been sitting for over a year now. I remember watching a flight channel episode where a plane was grounded for a month and wasps made a nest inside a sensor and caused the entire plane to crash.
well if you're talking about the 747 fleet, they're are almost being retired unilaterally by all major airlines. So this what you're looking at is gonna be the replacement for long haul journeys.

@White Wolf no it's not. The Engine had issues. That is why the first flight kept getting pushed back, but GE fixed the wear problem. Now about the test. It was a super stress test. During the test, the plane had to reach 1.50x limit load(limit load is the maximum stress achievable during flight) and hold for 3 seconds. 1.50x limit load is also called ultimate load. The wing root failure occurred at 1.48x Limit load(99% Ultimate Load). The FAA still considers this a pass. Now you'll probably think it is unsafe and it's the FAA being corrupt, but the A380's wing failed at 1.44x limit load(96% ultimate load) and Airbus made no fixes to the wing. The A380 passed because the test isn't relative to any stress the aircraft can achieve in flight.

no, that is a feature of the Boeing 777, it is like a stepping effect, the back 4 wheels always lift up before rotation

A majority of them are 737 MAX aircraft. However, they also have 787's, 767's, 777's, and military aircraft stored there.
Those are actually 787s and military versions of the 767 getting ready for delivery to customers.
