The Volt Golds were the first pair of Jordan’s I’ve ever owned and the one I plan to get multiple pairs. I’m glad people talk them down. I overpaid resale at the time, but to see them on GOAT for under $200 is awesome for me. I also owned the prototypes for a little. I understand the gimmick but the colors worked for me so I never thought about cutting them. Hypebeast culture often hurts the sneaker community with the level of subjectivity. At the end of the day, shoes are meant to be worn.
Regarding these… Just my opinion - Both the Prototype / Handcraft are going to be “love or hate” type of sneakers. I copped both & sold both once I had them in hand. Didn’t really get that classic Jordan 1 feeling when I tried them on. - Solefly joints are unusual. They won’t get alot of rotation, but I have fits & occasions they can work into. LOUD - idk about #1 worst, but the electro orange was an average release. - unpopular opinion, but I like the metallic purple. Predominately white & the quality overall was upper tier. Easy to wear. - McDonalds AJ1… I have these in my closet & still haven’t wore them. The quality is seriously 10/10 across the board, but the colorway is a challenge & I typically find better sneaker options while putting together the fit - Patinas are underrated. Big supporter & the quality again is NICE. Great fall or winter sneaker. Bad original release period from a timing perspective.
I have the women's court purple as a sleeper hit... Quality on those are ace! Copped the fusion red, patina and volt gold all below retail 😅 pretty happy to own them!

In my opinion, The JD 1 Prototype is really nice shoes. The color blocking is clean and multiple lace swap can easily match with various basic outfit. Besides, I really like the Suede Baby Blue on this high top.
The sad part about this is if these had hyped names attached like travis or union you would eat em up. High resale doesn't equal 🔥.....solfly and patinas are trash tho.

The closest shoe I have to the OG Metallic Purples is the (W) Court Purples … which is a huge reason why I still have them in my rotation. Now when Jordan brand does decide to do a proper retro of the OG Metallic Purples, I do see myself letting go of the (W) Court Purples.
