in celebration of lazy in space coming out on netflix, i wanted to collect some peaceful songs from the original ost and make a mix of them! this was mostly just for me but i realized other people might find it relaxing, too.
bee and puppycat has such a stellar soundtrack each scene has music crafted perfectly for it. this means that a lot of the songs are only little “snippets,” though, and stop and start pretty randomly on their own. this is just fine! but it makes listening to them for a longer time hard.
i tried creating perfect loops of many of the tracks (hopefully i succeeded) and looped a few measures to make some flow better as a loop. most songs are around five minutes now. slowedandreverb.studio is a godsend with the effects
for the visuals, i used capcut and thought i might be able to make something unique with b&p’s beautiful visuals. it ended up looking kind of strange but hopefully that’s fine. i also wasn’t sure on what the rain volume should be but ended up making it pretty loud compared to the tracks to soften them.

Theres something about the first track that makes me feel an intense feeling of nostalgia for a place iv never been to. Weird but lovely. Learning music to try and create similar sounding pieces. Thanks for this it really helps me sleep.

Bee and Puppycat is one of my all-time favorite cartoons ever, and the OST is so amazing and calming. I have some insomnia, so I listen to this rainy lofi version of the soundtrack to help me fall asleep.

hi! this is actually like the first genuinely… critical? analytical? comment on this video since i posted it, since most are less about the actual video and more about the nostalgia of the music. (which is fine!)
i appreciate this actually! so, i made this video largely just for myself. i like how jarring just listening to the original soundtrack raw is, because of the bouncy, improvisational way it was composed for b&p. but i also enjoy ambient loops, so voila, an alternative. i wasn’t thinking of my subscribers at the time or anything… probably because there were none lol. but then i thought i could make some neat visuals and share it just for kicks, in case anyone else was interested in the same thing.
so about the rain: this form of rain drowning out everything but the peaks is actually something i LOVE in ambient music. (fun fact: it was actually how it was created! this old musician dude was bedridden and someone left a classical record on for him, but he couldn’t get up to turn it up to be heard over the rain. slowly though he started to enjoy the atmosphere of like… the weird formless sound those layers created.)
so the rain being SUPER loud is not an accident, and something i did deliberately for my own enjoyment. i was honestly wondering if anyone would notice or comment on it. however, just bc i like that vibe doesn’t mean it is superior to a softer background noise, so that’s why i linked the pure loops in the video description. now you can add your own rain, or fart sound effects, or anything lol.
