I wonder if Puppycat getting dropped on Bee’s umbrella was the moment the space outlaw escaped from the warlocks. Puppycat doesn’t look like a monster but maybe he sees himself as a monster.
i have this theory that's a bit of a reach but perhaps puppycat could also be on a "temp" job to protect, babysit lol, or keep an eye on bee (maybe for her dad?)? the only way i've seen them travel via portals is through the ones that temp bot provides. if puppycat can travel on his own via portals we haven't seen it yet. this is probably a reach through. and then again when puppycat appeared it looked like he was falling so he could have been escaping.
I doubt Pc is on a temp to protect Bee bc the temp bot should have recognized her, unless it’s with a diff agency..

I think the humor is that what we see as cute, the rest of the galaxy can see it as the most ugly thing on the universe

Best first line to start a show

The expanded version of this for the new Netflix release makes a lot of the implications of the plot more obvious, and sets up a ton of world-building that came out of nowhere the first time through, but god this version's energy is irreplaceable. So many amazingly weird line reads and gags
agreed! I love the final netflix version but this one is more “edgy” I guess?? Love the weirdness and out-of-nowhere-ness of everything

Watching the old B&PC feels like watching an original time line compared to the Netflix version which feels like a parallel universe in comparison. Some of the outfits are the same but they go through worlds that had whole episodes in a minute and moved on. I’m glad this is still up, I preferred Wallace to that ugly baby. Perhaps it’s because I’m bias, having grown up with this more unhinged version. Either way, it’s a pleasant surprise to see it on Netflix. Not gonna lie, I always thought bravest warriors would get a show but I’m infinitely grateful for this one too.

I just watched the first episode and I'm hoping to like it, but it felt kind of like they took twice as long to tell the same story as the original pilot. Though it was kind of interesting to see how exactly she got fired. 😆
Came here after watching the first episode on Netflix. I am happy that more people will know this story and sad that it's slower and less funny than this was. I truly love Bee. Jokes here made me laugh again and after idk how many years I found out I remember her lines one by one. So good. Maybe animation is looking less cool as I remembered but jokes and speed is perfect still.
@@evandavis7 agreed. i didn't like how they wiped a lot of the mysteriousness too, like when they showed the prince overlayed with puppycat when they fought the ugly baby. i much preferred this pilot's ending where we simply saw puppycat staring out the window with the prince being reflected back. i feel the netflix version was incredibly on the nose. :/
It gets waaaay better after episode 3 or so once it's finished recapping the TH-cam eps
I know it seems pretty obvious that puppycat is the space outlaw in the story but it’s weird to me that he keeps asking bugs and other creatures to bow down to him or even says that he enjoys telling people what to do in the episode where bee has her toilet fixed. Wouldn’t it be crazy if puppycat was actually the king or even the princess instead?

I think the look of the people from the story is also a very interesting tie into the jellyfish story from the series. The people have an odd little antena with a small light attached to the end that's oddly reminiscent of that of an angler fish, and the sea is often compared to space because both are dark and mysterious and water provides a similar feeling to floating.

I feel like the pacing and storytelling flows much better in the originals. It's easier to be more engaged in the series, while the Netflix version seems more like background noise. The characters are more relatable as well.
Yeees totally agree, I think that maybe the problem is that each episode in the Netflix version is a bit too long? 11 minutes per episode works really well for cartoons like this one, the pacing could have worked better if the episodes were shorter

I would say it's perfect background noise on Netflix if you're working on a project or doing housework.
“I knew it was you, pretending it’s just a fairy tail. Lying to children, making him look up to a hero. Who, in reality, is nothing but an awful monster.” What that monster says gives quite a bit of insight into maybe how puppycat came to be. He might not want to talk about his true past, and instead talks about it in vague and mysterious stories, possibly changing it as he goes along to make sure no one sees the actual truth. But also the monster says he let someone look up to him as a hero, meaning puppycat had a companion possibly before Bee who looked up to him and saw him as great. But it seemed not a great as it seemed, since the monster says that he was in reality an awful monster, possibly meaning puppycat did something really bad before this if he was the space outlaw before be became puppycat, or that his current form is seen as a monster to everyone he used to know.
The fact that that's his teacher makes it worse
It’s also to be noticed that Wallace looks like he’s part of space outlaw’s team in the concept art. So he might’ve been part of that person he lied to be being “a hero.”
Puppycat is a tormented man, who is haunted by the Space monarchy and by his own sins. Tho of course to Bee and others he may not look like a monster he’s clearly capable of mass destruction and he views himself as a monster that does whatever he can to forget his past life

This show has lived 4 lives, as 3 different animated iterations, and as a comic. While people may argue that some were better than others honestly I’m just glad the show lived at all. (Plus aside from the first few dookie episodes of Lazy in Space (Not Netflix’s fault I think since the show was made beforehand)) I love Lazy in space with every fiber of my being
Just watched the Netflix version, and I'm sure I'm biased because I've absolutely rewatched this episode a million times and I love it so much. But I feel like the comedic timing and this one was just perfect. The slow drop of Deckard while she's screaming she's looking for ice. The "I'm shoving the crotch ice under the door!" X'D I'm also really sad that they cut the line "You took too long your candy is gone. That's what happened, pakow!!!" Gosh I've quoted that line SO. MANY. TIMES. But they did keep use the sword as a sword which was awesome.
So adding this now that I've finished the series on Netflix. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
What an absolute ride! They changed a lot of character interactions, but they also built out a whole bunch more of the world. I read someone else's post about how Bee seemed a lot more distant in this series. And that maybe due to the fact that she's a robot, and they made her be a little bit worse at processing emotions. And I think that was an interesting choice. I don't know if it was the right choice, but certainly wasn't a wrong choice.
My husband called the plot twist that the island was puppycat's ship.
PuppyCat is Spike Speegle is not a sentence I thought I would ever say.

Came back to the original after watching the Netflix adaptation bcs the voice acting was so much more fun and natural here
It's crazy to think that B&P is almost a decade old now and now reaching a whole new audience via Netflix. There are definitely aspects that I miss from this pilot and the 1st season, but I also think it's important to remember that the 2nd season (at least eps 4-16) was already done way before the Netflix announcement. The 2nd season was leaked in early 2020 with tons of clips ending up on different platforms. I think that if the first three "rebooted" episodes on Netflix stayed closer to the 1st season it would've been better, but I still love many elements that were kept and getting to see this story take flight again after so long.

This humor was just too good that I can't really get entertained by the Netflix series now. Her saying that she was fired in a very bitter way, the crotch scene, the temp agency, the bug gags and even Wallace. The lore would fit this style just as well so I don't know why they made Bee way more soft and wholesome with barely any of the comedy they put in here, sigh.

I wish that all episodes were like this. They combine cuteness with disturbing elements. Some episodes are just cute and while I like that I feel like the show has more personality with the first episode.

Idk but this art style threw me back to when I was a kid watching disturbing yet cute shows. I think either on toonami or something else ...I just can't put my finger on it.
I only now noticed that the being that comes out of wallace actually comes out of a pink ray. A pink ray very similiar to when B and PC teleport in and out of jobs. It also has the same teleporting sound. My first time watching this and even rewatching I never noticed. I just thought Wallace was a fake or possessed, but maybe it was more like a warlock from the story listing in on Wallace with magic? This show has me asking so many questions.

+Katie Bayliss I think they were trying to hard to get it out because of popular demand that they didn't have time to use the money they were given smartly and plan out the story the wanted to tell. I think two episodes what have been better and probably cheaper. they could have extended the episodes. they set this up as she's going to have amazing space adventures but the jobs she get in the web series are boring and not as fun or linked to the princess And theve plot they had going. it just didn't have that spark this has. even though necgred and bee shared one scene I never got him treating her like a child like his sister said he was doing but that he liked her and wanted to help her out.
+Katie Bayliss and those little humble freak out quirk she has isn't that funny in the web series because it to over played unlike here where it's paced out and happen at the right moments making it funny and charming.
I'ma just go around spreading all the foreshadowing in these episodes around. This is about puppycat, and why he is definitely the outlaw.
1. When he and Bee arrive in front of tempbot, tempbot says, "Oh hi Puppycat, you look different." As to target the fact that he is no longer in his original form.
2. He refuses to tell Bee if the story was true or not, and also the fact that the story had *no ending*.
3. The monster that comes from Wallace, says, "Making him look up to a hero... Who, in reality, is just an awful monster."
4. Puppycat acts like he is in control of others, signifying that he might have been before, as a different being.
*SPOILERS!! SPOILERS!! WHATS UP AHEAD IS SPOILERS FOR THE REST OF THE SERIES!!! DO NOT READ ON UNLESS YOU HAVE WATCHED EVERY LAST EPISODE OF BEE AND PUPPYCAT!!*
5. In the very last episode, when Cardomon asked Puppycat if he had ever been in love, we see him remembering a scene with the outlaw and the princess, about to hold hands.

Am I the only one who feels like this pilot is just WAAYY better than the actual show? Like, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, it's just that this pilot had such a brilliant mix of humor and cutesy charm that just flows so well and has made this pilot stick in my head for years! The show on the other hand feels like it's just cutesy, the comedy has mostly been pushed aside, which is a bummer because that was my favorite part... And it also just kind of feels like they turned the cutesy dial to 11, where as this pilot has a nice balance where if you like cutesy things you'll like the show, but if you didn't it was tolerable. Now it just feels sickeningly sweet, at least to me.

It kinda is explained when the kid says in episode 9 "have youve ever been in love?" And it shows an image of the space outlaw and the princess but only for a few seconds. So far its kinda confusing. But in episode 3 and 4 when the cats say hes ugly and crap like that, its like they can see behind the disguise. Maybe people can't see behind the mask like most regular animals can but animals and other things can? Then it shows the gleam and hes the prince so...maybe lazy in space will cover it?

Frick, this is 10 times better than the monstrosity of a reboot.
After watching lazy in space, I can now say that puppycat’s stories about the space outlaw, is only a mere retelling of himself. Puppycat was the space outlaw who was turned into the monster by the space king, and the “monster” is his current form now. He had an alien friend named violet, who he ran away with in a ship to travel the universe at a very young age. Later on In a flashback, we learn that they “raised” a genius baby later on as they grew into adults. Later confirmed that the baby was bee’s dad. When they came to earth at some point, they landed their ship into the ocean, which over time, became inhabited with people, considering that it had become an island. In the finale puppycat finds his old spaceship, and while ripping out plugs, he accidentally makes the whole island loose electricity. Making cardamom’s mom’s “life support machine”, turn off, making her wake up(apparently the machine was made to keep her asleep, not to keep her alive). Soon we all learn that cardamoms’s mom is Violet, puppycat is the space outlaw, and the baby was bee’s dad. The series ends without explaining who the space princess was, but I guess that’s left for us to figure out. Oh and they power-up the spaceship in the end and “island” with only a few people left on it, fly into space to escape the weird black hands that we saw in the last of the first season, that were apparently ordered to catch and destroy puppycat, the mysterious space outlaw.

Lazy in space isn’t the series finale btw it’s just season 2, I’m pretty sure they would’ve announced it that way if it was. There isn’t a season 3 confirmed yet but if season 2 is successful when it officially comes out then I’m pretty sure season 3 will be made, I hope🤞

Okay, so here's my theory based on theory comments below.
Puppy cat is the space-out-law who was transformed into a "horrible monster", (his current form), hence temp-bot saying "you look different." I think Bee is the Space princess. I think the princess changed her appearance and wiped her memory of all events that happened, and created her new persona, Bee. The reason Puppycat fell out of the sky onto Bee is because he was looking for the princess. When he realized Bee was the princess, he got mad at her father for the way she was now living, because he thought she deserved better. When Bee stated she ran out of food money, Puppycat felt bad for her, and got the temp job. Pulling evidence from the next episode, you can see that Puppycat puts up with bee's silly ness, even if he doesn't like it, because only the people you love will put up with you like that. Evidence I have to support bee being the princess is the way she rushed to help him without thinking. She didn't hesitate to help, and this may have been just because it would be wrong to just stand there, but bee had said "I'm going to kill you," showing she really cares for puppy cat. The evidence I have for Puppycat being the out law is the outlaws hairstyle, (cat ears), and the fish, Wallace, talking about it not being a fairy tail. ("I knew it was you, pretending it's just a story, lying to children, and making him look up to a hero that, in reality, is just an awful monster.")
This is just a theory, (head cannon), I put together with other peoples theory's and facts from the episode. Tell me what you think, and if I have and holes I can fill in. Open to suggestions. :)

u forget something? the space outlaw is from space, like an alien. puppy cat talks like one(not any languages in this world O_O) and also, bee and other weird creatures are the only ones that understand him. In the episode that came out called food, puppycat talked and deckrid or whatever didnt understand.Also, puppy cat ignore bee EVERY time she brings up the fairy tale, not to mention, he looks mad most of the time just like the space outlaw
Plus at the end, the reflection in the window of Puppycat is the outlaw.
Vanilla Vulpix I don't think so. Yes, he was tricked by her but he really loved her. He had wanted to run away with her. Sometimes love causes us to forgive the wrong that was done to us. Also, if Bee is the Princess and has forgotten her old self, maybe he thinks he can get her to love him another way and when they return to their true selves, that love will be strong and they will be together! *o* Or... maybe he couldn't kill her if she didn't even remeber. Where's the vengence? So maybe he's waiting for her to remeber to do her in. XD Regardless, I think it's an awesome theory! I hope they play on it some more. That and I just love the lil series. :3

I'm a Shapeshifter I think the monster was just inside Wallace. Wallace is probably who he’s referring to when he says Puppycat is lying to children. He also says ‘making *him* believe” so the monster and Wallace are different people (..... creatures)
I remember this coming out 10 years ago. To this day, I still fondly love the "you took too long! now yo candy's gone! das whuh happened!" joke. It saddens me deeply that the best bit in the 1st episode was cut for Netflix...
