I REALLY hope they someday actually make a true worthy Sky Garden remake… But anyways I do hope Banshee Boardwalk gets an awesome remake someday too, because there's actually some REALLY cool custom tracks that show the potential of a modern Banshee Boardwalk.

It feels like they could do a lot of fun stuff with Banshee Boardwalk. It could dip into the water at some sections, the building could be more of a ruins or something (I always thought the design of the building was weird) and with some good lighting it could look eerily beautiful

A little update that GBA Peach Circuit is no longer dormant because it was officially been revealed in Mario Kart Tours Princess Tour and also GBA Luigi Circuit MIGHT get in Tour in the upcoming Mario Vs Luigi 2023 Tour soon since people are speculating that N64's Mario Raceway is coming.

If they have 6 retros and 6 nitros, they can have until 6 remade tracks because it’s 1/4 tracks, which would still be decently balanced as I believe the retro battle courses would only be the ones that never came back. That’s because we now have 2 games that barely have anything to pick from: MK64 and MKDS. And I just think it would be kinda sad if there was games that have only 1 track in the retro selection. And among the 15 other 64 tracks that haven’t been remade, Banshee Boardwalk is the one with the biggest potential. As for DS, I’d say Airship Fortress, but for marketing reasons this time. Since many fans were frustrated that it didn’t make the cut to the BCP, Nintendo can bring it back in MK9 and make it one of the selling points of the Mario Kart 9 Retro Cups, along with Toad’s Factory.
It makes sense that they would cycle through again for 64 / DS, but keep in mind, there are more "mouths to feed" now. There are 8-10 games now that need courses brought back, which makes the likelihood of just 1 being added from a category all the more probable.

I'd argue Mushroom Bridge has a worse fate than Banshee Boardwalk, as at least that one can be played online in the N64 expansion pack, same with the other 4 retro courses not playable in MKDS as they're SNES and GBA tracks, but due to there not being one for Gamecube, its only online availability is trapped in a mobile game. And to make matters worse, Moonview Highway may have killed its chances of ever getting this opportunity to be playable online in a proper mainline game unless they ever bring the Gamecube to Nintendo switch online List of the 6 tracks from the 8 (plus 8 deluxe) mainline games that have never been playable online in a mainline game (the other 5 will get their opportunity if they ever make another mario kart or another BCP, but Mushroom Bridge remains a true anomaly in the mario kart series) GCN Mushroom Bridge GCN Mushroom City GCN Wario Colosseum GCN Bowser's Castle GCN Rainbow Road DS Bowser Castle
I understand the argument. But being honest, the online for NSO is so laggy / bad that it feels hard for me to count it. Tour's online is way better. With that being said, considering you have to wait for it to be in a current Tour to play it.... not ideal. It's definitely in a unique spot, I'll give you that.

Great analysis on the Retro Tracks of MK DS, you really nailed it by considering neutrally what Tour's making too since many don't even want to point out about it even if it is the most influential part of the series for now. I am really fond of playing Banshee Boardwalk and it's probably one of the tracks from 64 with the greatest potential for a remake, it's really empty but that's what it makes with the atmosphere and it's really eerie music, the enemies present, some recent custom track remakes have really nailed the feeling, I would dig a recreation of this track any day. Voting for a Mario Kart Ultimate btw, I don't really see a reason for them to leave most of the stuff behind when they've done a lot for the mobile game lmao.

Not only is Mario ds' online limited but to add insult to injury you can't just use any wifi router you can find. Due to this game using outdated wifi architecture, You have to use a router that supports non-dsi enhanced games (802.11b for something like that) and it cannot be WPA nor WPA 2 (has to be WEP or Open). While you could use a mobile hotspot, for some reason my 3ds via the ds connection settings (on my copy of Mario kart ds) refuses to connect to my mobile hotspot despite it being recognized as an open viable hotspot. It appears that my only option now is to make my router open, but I can't when I'm still living with family members and I can't seem to know how to make a guest router. My best opportunity to play this game online was at a hotel in Vietnam, it had an open router that I could use to play the game online, and it was a special moment that I will never forget.
I honestly think they could use one of those tracks for MK9, since MK64 only has 1 track that has never been remade. And I think it would be kinda sad if there was only 1 N64 track in game. You realize that the reason Nintendo brought back the most popular and well deserved courses is the fact that they wanted to spread out remakes across the series since including probably most of the tracks you listed because the variety Nintendo chose was devoted to more of the fans of the games those came from, plus Nintendo probably thinks more of the original than the remakes.

It's full of jumps, and would've been great for the introduction of stunting in Wii. Got passed over. It's twisty-turny-corkscrewy, and would've been great for the introduction of anti-grav in 8. Got passed over again. It's also the only track in the series to be long enough to warrant 2 laps, but not so long to only be a single lap, and that uniqueness warrants recognition. THAT is mistreatment!

It is to be honest. The void background with nothing but endless ocean, the presence of only one fish and several ghosts, the empty boardwalk with only a few lamps lighting your way, the eerie music, and the mysterious house/church which doesn't feel like it's ever been lived in.
Never considered it scary either, I guess I was more concentrated on the race than the surroundings since it's one of the most challenging ones. It's been one of my favourites since back then, we often played it multiple times by braking at the end and getting 5th or worse and then sometimes skipped RR because it was just too long/boring. 😄

GBA Luigi Circuit is getting added to the next Tour alongside Waluigi Stadium and Mario Raceway. Luigi Circuit does look really really good.

It is to be honest. The void background with nothing but endless ocean, the presence of only one fish and several ghosts, the empty boardwalk with only a few lamps lighting your way, the eerie music, and the mysterious house/church which doesn't feel like it's ever been lived in.
It kind of is, but the “scariness” of it imo makes it beautiful.
it fucking made me thalassophobic as a kid and i still am, fuck this course, ruined my love for swimming.
Never considered it scary either, I guess I was more concentrated on the race than the surroundings since it's one of the most challenging ones. It's been one of my favourites since back then, we often played it multiple times by braking at the end and getting 5th or worse and then sometimes skipped RR because it was just too long/boring. 😄
The courses I want to see get a 2nd/3rd remake in MK9 (I don’t count Tour as mainline):

-Frappe Snowland
-Banshee Boardwalk
-Dino Dino Jungle

-DK Pass
-Airship Fortress
-Coconut Mall (but not butchered)

Already posted on it, but I don't think it's irrational to not consider Tour main series. It's a very successful spinoff, much like Pokemon Go. It just doesn't follow the same rules / formula.
Mario kart ds is the worst mk game and has the worst tracks selection in the series and ANY retro track from ds deserves a REAL REMAKE.
Definitely disagree about it being bad. I would say it had more limitations, that's all.
@@HDRookieI know Noshadesfunky, he hates MKDS and he’s a huge MKWII Stan to the point that literally every Wii nitro is better than Airship Fortress (yes, including Luigi Circuit and Mario Circuit💀).
