Thank you so much! You gave me a few things to add to my stylevana order. And I will be sure to use your code! 🤗
Wow!! What a comprehensive review!! Found your channel looking for stylevana's advent calendar review, but so happy to subscribe now - gorgious and very intelligent content, thank you!
I love that you’re doing these categories. They really help me dial-in a protocol. Thanks for what you do❤❤❤
You have beautiful flawless skin! Thank you for the video!
I loved this video Alice! K beauty series are my favourite❤️
I love how easy they are to include in a routine!
Yes! I love love love BOJ eye serum! I also use it on my neck because it can’t handle any other retinoids
Oh that’s a good idea! Yes neck skin tends to be more sensitive too
#5 is my #1! Just love everything about the Revive Eye Serum.❤
Yuuup!! It’s so funny too; I remember when retinol didn’t really exist in K-Beauty (not much at least). BoJ really shook things up with that release!
I truly love this type of review so eductional and so so well made video. Thank you for ur time spending on all ur videos. I learn so much from them. Have a wonderful day ❤
Thank you! Hope you have a great day too ☺️
I do enjoy this series so keep 'em coming. Oh the snark, of course there are a bajillion HA products (hello Isntree HA water essence) so of course let's make another one with more interesting ingredients. I've definitely seen people asking for cheaper retinal products so it will be interesting to see brands come up with more especially since even retinyl esters which some people question as far as efficacy, can cost a lot.
Yep not to mention formulating with those ingredients (assuming non-private label brands). It’s going to be hard to beat BOJ, I suspect!
Thanks for doing this series! Of the serums you mentioned, I've only used the BOJ revive serum and I love it. I have the glow serum but haven't even opened it yet (so many great products and only one face lol!). I decided to try the man:yo bifida serum instead of Numbuzin, but it does sound nice!
Oh the “only one face” struggle - it’s so real 😩
I actually keep a bottle of the BoJ Glow Serum in my skin fridge. If im having grumpy skin, it helps to use this while my skin is still damp from Propolis toner. Works every time.
😊
I am beginning a couple hauls of skin care/cosmetics, so I am going through some videos (mostly yours) to decide which "newer" products to try out. 💖
Love the Glow Serum... the rest are on my wishlist🥰 I surprisingly LOVE the Jumiso HA acid serum, Actually the whole line! So I've been curious to try the Torriden as well!
Meanwhile I’m eyeing Jumiso lol! I just got their vitamin c, so excited to try it (after loving the peptide/snail). Similar journey here for both of us, but reversed 🤣
Alice!!! Yay! I’m
So glad to see this! Heading to the mall this weekend!!!
😱 ooh can’t wait to see pics (yes? Yes!) 🤩
I love the retynal cream too🥰
Essences would be nice to do! Loved the video and i placed a order for the boj retinal serum, excited to try it!
Let me know how it goes for you!
This is very informative and giving explanation for targeted solution for different skin types. I appreciate this very much. Thank you.
that lip volor suits you so well!
Thank you! ☺️
Great videos,❤❤I went to yesstyle today and purchased all the items you recommended in this video except Torriden (bec I could not find on the cruelty free list) but i will keep on looking. I am running out of skincare and needed to replenish my stock badly😂😂
Gotta thank you for doing a Torriden brand review - the Balanceful serum is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST, I will never go without it now that I know it exists!
RIGHT omg I’m so glad to hear you like it too. That one actually floored me!!
I need to try this one!!
You’ve got me interested in all of these , a couple I haven’t heard to much of ! Also as far as I know , the numbuzin serum wouldn’t be vegan even without the goat milk. This might not be accurate but I’ve heard that the silk extract comes from worms or something like that.
Ah, you’re right! Thank you for catching that ☺️
I love when I see you posted a video !! I also LOVE this series !! Please do essences !!
I got the BOJ glow deep serum at tjmaxx, Ive been wanting the glow serum but I couldn’t resist. I’m not really seeing any results, I have quite a few pretty noticeable dark spots. but I’m sure you have to go thru several bottles to see results. Think I’m gonna skin repurchasing for now & get the glow serum instead. I just started using the faded by topicals serum and I’m hopeful! I’ve heard great things. I haven’t heard much about a couple of the products you mentioned but the way you speak definitely sparks my interest in almost all of them!!
Topicals Faded is a much stronger product! Good call if these aren’t leading to results
I do feel like this is a very good selection of serums lol (granted I can’t try #1 …so maybe, maybe not 🤣). But yep I think most of these do deserve their hype, albeit for the right needs ☺️
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I feel you on the #1!! I’m DYING to try it but my skin does not like essential oils either !!
Derma E Vitamin C Serum is excellent for dark spots too. Walmart sells that brand.
@@NatalieG427 is it pure L ascorbic acid or a derivative? I’m looking for a pure Vit C serum to add to my routine as far as derivatives go my heart belongs to the bubble day dream serum.
please continue love your compares
Thank you for your awesome videos!
I did enjoy numbuzin no.3 i love the texture, but i can't say it was magical for my skin. I think it performs ok.
Yep, the texture is great! Yeah it’s nice, just not among my absolute favorites
Hi Alice, I got addicted to Torriden Dive in serum trial version and ended up buying the full size 😅
I also bought another Sulwhasoo first care activating serum since nothing I have tried replace its skin prep and the cost, although expensive, is totally worth it 😉
It’s so good. I barely fuss with expensive products anymore, with hanbang as the exception!!
Omg omg I’m so happy about this video!! I have everything in this video except the torriden one and the glow serum cuz I bought the alpha arbutin one by them! 💕now I’m using numbuzin serum 3 but I wanted to start with the boj eye serum to use it under my eyes but I didn’t start yet I’m confused how to add it to the routine 🥹 a lot of beautiful serums but it can be overwhelming honestly!
I want to add that I used the ordinary niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% and I really saw results with the hyperpigmentation especially!! But I heard a lot about the Axis-Y so I thought about trying that after finishing the ordinary one! 🤷🏻♀️
You might want to start with every other day application with the retinal. That said, I never had any issues at all with retinal until I hit 0.1% (which is where it did start to feel strong!)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole thank you so much I will keep that in mind! 🤍
Hi, i love the beauty if joseon Glow serum. Thanks for the other recommendations. I also would love to know your opinion to the mary& may wash off masks😊
I tried the rose hyaluronic pack. It was nice to use! Probably a better match for combo-oily skin than mine as it left a lightly hydrating sensation, while I like deep
Can you share with us your lip colour! It’s beautiful
Excellent video....thank you
🥰🥰
just found you channel and love your reviews ❤. can you recommend for people who have reactions to niacinamde and have dry skin
great video!
I've used most of these and I like everyone else, love Numbuzin, I used a few bottles of the no. 3 in addition to a few of the others like 5, 6 and 8. For BoJ I preferred the deep glow rather than the regular one. The Glow was not my favourite propolis serum, I found the Skinfood, Cosrx and Wishtrend ones for propolis
Skinfood’s is so good. It can be a little tricky to catch it for a good price, but I’ve seen nice sales and scooped it up at that opportunity lol!
Hi Alice l like the videos look so nice 😊 xx
ALICE 🙌🏿💕 this was super informative and helpful to me! Specifically with niacinamide, I had no idea what percentages help with hyperpigmentation. QUESTION: if you have two or more products with 2% (or less) niacinamide do they equal a high percentage when stacked or is it just 2%?
Thank you so much Alice for all the knowledge you be dropping ☺️💕✨
That’s a great question!
So technically you applied 2% twice, but a percentage is a representation of an AMOUNT of something in a solution. Meaning you technically are applying more of that niacinamide!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole oh this is so good to know as well! Thank you so much for answering 💕
Love it! Super interested to hear your thoughts on that BOJ eye serum comparing it to the Dr. Dennis Gross ferulic eye serum for it's brightening effects? I've been using that one on your recommendation from you best of 2022 video, and I've seen AMAZING results. I use to be an eye serum skeptic, but you showed me the light.
anectodal evidence, but I've been using the BOJ retinal for months and it hasn't had any brightening effects. I do love it for smoothing out skin texture though!
@@sererev Thank you!
TBH I’d recommend people start with BoJ, but since you’re already way past it - yep, the DDG is one of verrrry few of my pricier favs!
There are so many great Korean skin lines and Korean products that are affordable and incredibly effective, that I find it hard to know which ones to use, and how to layer them.
I’m not really complaining because it such an amazing development in my life but at the same time…
I don’t know if it’s OK to be mixing all these different serums on my face from all these different lines.
The one product I would really like to find is an eye product without any oils or glycerin, for puffy, undereyes and lids as well, to relieve the dryness, but without adding to the puffiness.
If you find one like that, I would love a review on it as I’m sure others with puffy eyes would also love.
I cannot use anything on my eyes right now because it always makes my eyes puffier.
Ooh without glycerin is going to be a tricky one! I’ll keep an eye out (no pun intended 🤣)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole 😂
I love Paula’s choice 20% niacidamide booster! Can’t not have have it
I’ve seen a few people say that! Can you share what it does for your skin? ☺️
Hello~ Should i still use a propolis toner if im using a propolis serum? Propolis really works for me but at the same time, i dont wanna stack tok much on my face
You have sold me on the ginseng eye serum😅 using it on my whole face sounds better as I'm not sure how my eye area would tolerate it...
Nice line up. Have a great week ❌️ ⭕️
Hi Alice, now I'm indifferent in choosing a serum between numbuzin03 and manyo. My direction is winter. I want a hydrating serum and my type of skin is dry. And I would like to know which one is overview for dry skin?
Noice video, good job 👍👍
I think number 1 serum in Olive young for many years has been the isoi blemish serum, have you tried it? It has fragrance and all but I loved it..
I believe Alice has said that she doesn't like rose scents, so that might be a turn-off for the isoi serum.
Yeah, its scent lingers a bit for sure..
I heard this is amazing!
I was kind of wondering if Olive Young was showing me the US bestsellers!
Hey I love your reviews so I would especially like to hear from you what you think about the Anua Heartleaf Pore Clay Pack cuz everyone’s been raving about their toner and oil cleanser, as a person with combination, congested and acne-prone skin I’m curious whether their clay mask is any good as well
Oh interesting, somehow I didn’t know they have that! I do like BOJ and Heimish’s clay masks, which surprised me as usually I don’t love that category. Those aren’t too drying
Will look into the Anua!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole thank you!! I’ve been avoiding clay masks for years as well cuz they used to always accentuate my dry patches and didn’t really help with my oily areas, but since I saw your review of the BOJ one I thought I’d give some Korean formulas a try
I found the Anua clay mask on YesStyle if that helps
I am curious about the Anua brand too.
I may be mistaken - but did you have reservations about using retinol products around the eyes in the past ?😊
This week my nutty brain said why not try the 7 skin method for only around the eyes - I have oily, crepey upper lids. The upper lid crepey folds do smoothen out and even the hooded eye seems more lifted and open. It lasts the day and skin looks good without being oily ! 😂
It’s tough to answer. I have seen some ophthalmologists express concern, and I’ve seen dermatologists recommend it. It’s another one of those cases where the experts don’t agree. SO hopefully we get more data which can then lead to more informed decision making!
I just bought Axis Y on Stylevana bc I wanted to try something new for my hyperpigmentation. Hoping it helps
Did it work for you after four months?
Love your videos. Thank you ! I’ve been reading here and there Korean products don’t list ingredients in order of highest to lowest percentage like western brands do. Can you expound on this? Im wondering if the ingredients are actually IN the product. .. or just listed on the label. Remember the Spf scandal? Can you provide some insight into the certification that these products actually contain what they say they do?
I actually have a video that might really help you out: th-cam.com/video/MLp8K2y5GHg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PQ6cOQdWgTN9t3BX
Do we know the % of Retinal in the BOJ serum? I do love it around my eyes, and on my neck. But I've been using either the G&G A-GAME10 or the Naturium Retinaldehyde Cream Serum .10% on my face. Also can the BOJ serum be used in the morning? I would love to use it before sunscreen & makeup, but a little nervous about daytime use. Thank you!! Many blessings!💖💖💖
0.02% per their gallery on YesStyle!
Tbh I would use it at night. I’m not sure about retinal, but with retinol, it’s sensitive to sunlight (so wearing it during the day could cause it to not work as well). It’s debatable since you could apply SPF on top, but I also suspect it’s not really necessary to apply 2x day. I go with vitamin c/niacinamide eye creams in the AM!
Recommendations of korean skincare products only with "clean ingredients?
Except for propolis extract .. are other products vegan in beauty of joseon glow serum?
Interesting about the Torriden... would it be something to use after a retinol product to help with potential irritation and dryness?
Oh I definitely think so! I used adapelene at night and these serums (the torriden ones shown) in the AM. It was a great combo for me ☺️
Elissa is loving the Torridan for acne. But since she super dry I have stay on her about the hydration. I have to get a back up order going soon.
I love taking about formulations. So I'm for any advanced information analysis etc. Debating trying SK 2.
It’s so hard to know what to advise with SK-II. I totally believe the people who it doesn’t work for, but I also believe those who get great results from it (and am one of them lol)
So I’d say to maybe get a smaller size? Reason being is that it did take me over a month for the results to “click”. It also really helped that I had a before & after staring me in the face; it was so gentle that I didn’t realize how much it was doing!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole good advice. What was the major thing you noticed
even skin tone! To the extent of actually fighting hyperpigmentation, somehow 🤯
That Sturm product... that's a joke, right, Alice? You're just messing with me? There's no way someone would actually sell a skin serum for $800 unless it's going to file my taxes while it sits under the sink.
Speaking of serums! I mentioned starting cocokind's ceramide serum I think a month or so ago. It unfortunately is causing irritation 🙃 It goes away so I wasn't noticing for awhile. Hmm. I have the torriden essence on order based on your rec, so I'll let you know my thoughts on that!
(BTW, love sarcastic/snarky Alice in today's video lol)
That’s the value price! Yes, it’s a “deal” compared to her regular price: $320/1 oz. A mere $800 for 3.3 oz! What. A. DEAL. (dies inside)
I can’t use cocokind’s ceramide serum when my barrier is disrupted. I never figured out why!
I found the Axis-y dark spot correcting serum is so hard to use. I haven’t able to get a single pump out of it. Maybe I got a defective pump.
Loving that BOJ's Glow serum for my acne days. I was under the assumption that the bottles would be glass, but mine is plastic. Is it plastic for everyone else?
yes it's plastic :)
@@sererev Thanks!
Yep. There have been a few products that have surprised me with looking glass, but being plastic!
That BOJ eye cream is exceptional
It really is
Can i use boj deep glow serum and axis y dark spot serum together btw I am 16 can u please tell me
Unpopular opinion: BoJ is so overrated. That glow serum has awful texture, it's so thick and very sticky. There are other similar product that are so much better. But that's just me. most of their products don't work for me. The only products I like are spf and eye serum
I think my next purchase will be the numbuzin 3. I'm curious as to your thoughts on the no. 5?
She has a whole review video on numbuzin!
Thanks!
I skipped 5 because of the essential oils. It’s probably nice but I didn’t feel up for taking the risk lol!
Thanks, I will have to take a closer look. I have some essential oil issues too. I'm just looking to start a gentle vitamin c that won't irritate sensitive acne prone skin
How does the BOJ retinal compare to G&G 0,1% retinal? Which one is stronger?
Check the ingredient list in the video 12:47 it says 0.02% retinal. I would think 0.1% would be overkill for the eye area.
@@thegreaterconundrum Thank you, I did not notice it :) G&G has never caused me any issues when using it in eye area. I can even use on my eyelids and neck which tend to be more sensitive. If BOJ is 0,02% retinal then probably it is beginner-friendly product and that is cool as well.
Yep! Originally they only stated that on their IG, but it’s now in their gallery info as well ☺️
My skin barrier is so damaged. It’s hot and red, dry flaky and cracked.. any recommendations? 😊
I’m so sorry to hear, I know the story quite well but it’s frustrating every time!
What helps me is: nothing low pH (as that can sting!), no actives at all, and keeping my skin clean and moisturized. The goal is: keep bacteria out, keep moisture in!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole what do you use for moisturizer? Anything without HA?
I’m sort of disappointed in the most popular kbeauty serums specifically. I think my older western brain still doesn’t get it because for me a serum HAS TO ADDRESS SOMETHING! Usually for me it is ceramides/skin barrier and not plant ingredients that are “said” to do this and that healing wise. The other is like a peptide specifically medik8 peptide which is encapsulated and has a really great delivery system which gets them where they need to go. I need to start/stop caring about addressing things in such a scientific way and bite the bullet so to say and just buy a random healing Korean serum without all my fav ingredients and just see what it can do.
You have a good point. The main difference in Kbeauty is that they believe in the gentle and slow approach. Also their prices are very good. Research is definitely good if you want to find something that is close to what you currently good. But if you want to have fun, then you can try a bunch of serums. When they're not strong enough for me, I just put it on my body.
which peptide serum?
Yep I agree with Mandy! K-Beauty is gentle and seems to put skin health first. This does make a nice complement to western serums as well ☺️
Also how do you spell the name of that app? TH-cam subtitles are not helping lol
Hwahae! It is entirely in Korean so you’ll need a translator too, but it is quite interesting. There are a lot of brands on there that I haven’t heard of at all!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole awesome thank you!
When will you be reviewing the Sturm line. Will I need to buy a WayForward Machine to view it? 😂
I sometimes entertain the thought just to see how much snark I’m capable of. There’s really only one way to find out
@@AliceintheRabbitHole
Keep the snark up!😅
Baby snark do do do do do do,
Baby snark
Mamma snark do do do do do do, Mamma snark.
Numbuzin no 3 made me break out so bad 😥 I'm acne prone in general and I think ferments just aren't for me
Unfortunately some people are sensitive to fermented ingredients 😢 but in good news, it’s far from the only amazing ingredients out there!
💜
I am currently waiting months to get into a dermatologist office visit. I asked my GP for a script for hydroquinone 4% and got it no issue. She didnt offer any advice on how to apply it. Its so thick, layering trerinoin with it, geez its so difficult to spread. Im only applying a pea size each, do you know if I should be using more hydroquinone then that, or maybe layering a serum between them? Like Torriden option?
I use a pea size amount of product with my adapalene, and I find it helps to dab the tips of my fingers into the pea until I have 8 tiny dots - then I just go for it from there. It never quite feels as elegant as the serums I prefer but..well, it works
(Reread this and really hope it makes sense 😅, definitely one of those things that’s easy to show and hard to explain with words!)
@AliceintheRabbitHole I do do that dab method with both hydro and tretinoin yet no matter which of the two I lay down first, that second one it like trying to rub glue on glue tacky. I was thinking that perhaps I should wait longer between layers so the first one is fully dry before the second one, or using a serum or moisturizer between the two, as like a buffer/spread helper ...with benefits. Lol
Also, thanks for replying. I have deep dived and watched every single video you've posted and have you on notifications when new post are added. I love your needy commentary and candor on how products or company's represent or work. I'm 48, pale AF with sensitive dry acne prone skin, heading into pari- menopause bullshit. Your videos are so helpful.

I didn't get this notification! TH-cam!😡❌️⭕️
TH-cam has been so cranky lately. They show me pimple extraction videos that I don’t want to see, but not the channels I subscribe to 😢

I was going to order the BOJ Retinal eye serum then Drmtlgy came out with HPR Eye that’s an active form of retinoid so lol I got that one … great list RNW’s still my #1 🤣 need to branch out I’ve still got 3 bottles .. they sure don’t last very long tho 🤍🤍🤍
I wish RNW sold larger bottles of their serums!!
