More than respect this scene shows how much Pitou's devotion for the King can manifest in such raw moments that Pitou themselves never imagined to encounter their King in. And also I think she's mimicking or mirroring's the King's inner turmoil and despair, as the King himself wouldn't allowed himself to cry. Instead Pitou's doing that for Meruem. The author didn't even allow us readers to witness his facial expression. He obscured it with ink until Meruem regained compusure. Truly a statement of Togashi's genius for storytelling and narration.
The king's mother is from the unknown continent and she's a lower life form there...and her son is the strongest character here .. just imagine how many stronger monsters are there.... Can't wait for that arc to begin....The author better not go on a break for 1year again... he's old...the next time we hear news...is when he's ❌.... Let's hope he lives till 99
The Chimera Ants are only B ranked because the Dark Continent is their native habitat so they most likely have natural predators that keep them in check and ultimately they're still just ants. The reason they were able to become such a threat in the human world is because there was a queen that happened to be born with a mutation that makes her large enough to actually eat a human and there were none of the threats they normally had to deal with on the Dark Continent, which eventually lead to the birth of such an impossibly powerful being as the King. I doubt that we'll ever see anybody that is as strong or stronger than the King, he is in a different class all on his own and it'd be just as true on the Dark Continent too.

Chimera Ant Queen was the lower creatures on the Dark Continent, and Meruem was the different version of his mom. You should know about that.
It doesn't mean the dark continent creatures are stronger than meruem. They just have dangerous abilities like alluka.

The kings mother is from the dark continent. The chimera ant species originated from there, it’s been many generations since they came here
