My opinion about these two's origin forms is that being the gods of time and space, they are likely the first things Arceus created and thus their original forms look a lot like it. Perhaps they gained their altered forms because they had difficulty executing their strongest attacks. Remember the pokedex entries in this game are from Laventon's perspective, so they arent 100% accurrate.
@@TheNamelessOne888 I'm not sure how reasonable this sounds, but maybe Arceus stripped Giratina of their first form when they cast them into the distortion realm. Like a way to signify that Giratina wasn't one of them anymore.
I doubt all of this. Reading the Plates correctly, you can tell that Giratina was... pushed into the Distortion World. I doubt it was even supposed to exist, actually, since Arceus was trying to just make Dialga and Palkia. So, why would an accident that was never supposed to exist look like the other two? It likely wouldn't, and it was upset at this fact.
@@matthewwilliams8267 According to the plates, Arceus gave Giratina the Distortion World to rule over. It's a realm that exists side by side with the normal one, but they can't interact with one another. Both are opposite but complete each other, and neither can exist without the other. The Distortion World is a necessary realm in Pokémon lore. I would go as far as to say that Giratina embodies the space and time of the Distortion World the same way Dialga and Palkia embody the time and space of the Pokémon World. In an old interview, it was stated that both Giratina and the Distortion World embody CP violation and antimatter. CP violation pretty much confirms that space and time do exist in the Distortion World, but one of them is inverted. It would cause the four fundamental forces to operate oppositely with the result being a universe made out of negative mass antimatter. Additionally, Giratina is one of the Pokémon that Arceus creates in the Sinjoh Ruins event signifying that it is also an aspect and an emanation of its being. Giratina is just as important and necessary as the other two. It was probably sealed in its own realm because, according to PLA lore, it challenged Arceus. Although the implication has always been that Dialga and Palkia do not welcome Giratina on their side of creation.
I've grown to accept and kind of even LIKE Palkia's(which is probably also because I just like Palkia more than Dialga anyways) but it still could have been better Dialga's is just horrible and i regret ever having to see it
An epic Pokémon remix to start my Friday with. Thank you. Really looking forward to Pokémon Day coming up to see if any dlc gets announced for Legends Arceus.
People seem to dislike Origin Dialga and Origin Palkia for their uncanny appearences. Even though that's the best part about them and sole design purpose. It's like with Ultra Beasts, or Eternatus. They are meant to look odd, here the reason being that Dialga and Palkia try to imitate Arceus to gain some of his power. It's a really interesting concept, and the designs to go along with it make it even better with their bizzare but imposing appearence. Also, their theme is amazing, to me it's the Ultra Necrozma level of good, if not better. Well, ranting aside, this is a really cool take on their theme. I assume it wasn't easy to remix it because of how unique the original is. Regardless of that, the outcome of your effort is really good!
Question: Why aren't Dialga, Palkia, Giratina and Arceus classified as ultra beasts? They originate from different dimentions. Are there any other requirements?
@@mateuszsosnowski5876 Arceus and the Creation Trio are Legendary Pokemon and the creators of everything, our world and most likely every parallel one. Arceus has no world of origin because he made the universe, and he created Dialga, Palkia and Giratina to help him. In other words, they are essentially gods to everything. They live in their own pocket dimensions and can emerge in any reality they want. Ultra Beasts are aliens that came through Ultra Wormholes to our world. They are not classified as Legendary Pokemon (with the exception of Solgaleo, Lunala and Necrozma, who are Legendary Pokemon because of their unique status and great power), as they are normal species in their homeworlds (only Necrozma is an exception, as only a sinlge one exists). They all have stats with prime numbers (except for base stat total) and a unique sound effect in their cries. Arceus and the Creation Trio have round numbers for stats, there's only one of each, they don't have the Ultra Beast sounds in their cries and they don't use Ultra Wormholes to transport themselves between dimensions. They are the creators of the universe, meaning they can't come from Ultra Space since they had to create it first. And, well, Ultra Beasts were introduced in Generation 7, while the Sinnoh Legendaries originate from Generation 4. I hope this message is clear enough, otherwise feel free to ask more questions.
Yeah, honestly. I don't get why people dislike them so much. They aren't better than their original designs, I'll give em that, but MAN do they give off a very "godly" and otherworldly vibe. It's totally perfect for their Origin forms.
Understanding the designs does not always make people like them. They could've looked better while still pulling off the same concept basically. I personally like the weird and wacky designs of Ultra Beasts and Eternatus(Except his gigantamax form which couldve lean more towards the hydra-ish design than hand). Yet these two does not really vibe well with me, and considering how unequivocally awesome origin Giratina always has been makes me a bit dissapointed and wishing they were designed the same timeframe as origin giratina rather than getting these versions
@@Kerubii22 To me, personally, understanding the designs is one of the key factors to like what something looks. I always enjoy digging for origins and lore of Pokemon because of how complex they can be, plus providing some much needed education about the real world animals and history. A single dive into a Pokemon's design can be a game changer for my perspective on it, aligned with type, evolutions/forms (if it has any), name origins, battle prowess and the inevitable nostalgia/sentimental factor. That's just how things work for me. However, I cannot disagree with the fact there are people who don't like the oddity of Dialga and Palkia's Origin formes. There is no denying these designs are a bit out of place to a degree, even with all intents and purposes in mind. Also, I think they are a bit funny, to me personally at least, because when I saw their leaked designs, I was deadass sure they are fusions with Arceus in a manner similar to what Kyurem and Necrozma did. And, in a way, it could work better for their designs with minor adjustments. I don't think it would make much sense, but it would be something.
This theme really brings on the feeling of fighting an Angel or deity that has been… corrupted somehow. It’s not as upbeat as the original version, and overall gives off a subdued distorted feeling. If we view Arceus and his creations through the lens of Christian myth, it really makes sense that Dialga and Palkia are like this in their origin forms. In the Bible, angels - the creations and direct servants to God - were essentially eldritch horrors that took on the familiar guise of a human when in the presence of lesser beings. They only showed their true, terrifying forms to prophets or heroes. I know the PokeDex has Laventon theorizing that these forms are Dialga/Palkia’s attempt at imitating Arceus to get some of its power, but in my mind it’s more likely that these forms are simply how they look normally, and, like Giratina, they are forced to take less eldritch forms when they are present in our world. Thus, when they adopt this form to battle us, it is simultaneously their rejection of universal law and their recognizing us as a worthy hero/prophet/champion
it's funny to me because Giratina's Altered Form always felt far more Eldritch with it's 6 legs and caterpillar like appearance than its origin for which is just a floating snake with shadow Tendrils kinda makes me which Origin Giratina would sometimes walk around with its Tendrils like some sort of twisted spider

I'll admit... I love Palkia cuz I grew up with Pearl. So I do have a bias for their design. And I do love Biblically Accurate Angels. Origin Palkia reminds me of a Biblically Accurate Angellic Centaur without arms, and this is firing signals in my brain that I am enjoying. For me, the design is as much eye candy as the base Palkia. Looks like it's about to go off and pull a "Be not afraid" echo in the back of my head.

@@BBWahoo It's because Dialga and Palkia sacrified the parts of their body that are the most important, to try and ressemble Arceus.
