@@V-Jes stats are just flipped in places like Giratina-O, even though Palkia is much better due to speed buff, so they maintain the same BST unlike the primals or megas with +100 BST
I absolutely LOVED this game, but honestly, the only problem I had with this was how quickly it ended after the boss battle. I think if they added cutscenes of the party, and maybe a little one-to-one chat with one of the characters about the main character’s future, it would made the ending a bit more satisfying. Either way, this game’s shaping up to be one of my new favourite games!
I agree 173% about the anticlimactic ending. It left much to be desired. I was actually shocked at how quickly the credits began rolling. I'm sittin' there kinda scratchin' my head thinking, "Uhh.. okaaaay..? I guess that's.. it?" (I mean we all know there's much to do after the main story but still.) Anyway, glad I'm not the only one who noticed. ✓
At first I didn’t like them but now knowing that Palkia and Dialga’s origin forms are mimicking Arceus’ power it makes sense. They kind of look like Arceus but not really. I also like that fact that Spear Pillar got it’s name from the destruction 100 years prior to the events of D & P.
I was under the impression that this wad millennia ago. I find it hard to imagine that cars, cruise ships (SS ANNE), Skyscrapers, trains, master balls, the pokemon PC system, PC centers, the whole Gym challenge/elite 4 and so on all happened in a mere century. If the creators say 100 years then cool, I just find it hard to see it all coming together that quickly based on the state the world is in throughout the course of this game.
@@QtheLaserDude it’s an unknown amount of years in the past. Nobody knows exactly how long ago this game takes place. But given the fact we know from Gen 7 that Pokeballs were first created 500 years ago then that’s probably the best guess
@@Slimeonian That makes sense. 500 years it is. All in favor please show by scratching their head and patting their tummy. *proceeds to scratch tummy and rub head.*
Fun fact: Dialga and palkia revert to these forms because they’re the sons of arceus, to get closer to their fathers power they take his form. Giratina is also one of the sons but the difference is, he was… well, banished. He can’t draw from the same powers as they can because of it. It’s implied within the games story. As a side note, I was really “meh” when it came to the forms but once you understand why they look the way you do, and use them in game your perspective completely changes and even applaud GF for doing it so well.
[SPOILERS] The dex entries are contradictory since the professor is theorizing and writing them for the most part. Dialga’s implies that the origin form is its true form, while palkia’s implies that it’s trying to change its body to imitate/surpass arceus. Nothing in the game states that giratina “can’t draw from the same powers”, it has all of its original powers in tact hence why it can rip apart space time and corrupt the other two. I think giratina is legless unlike arceus because it’s “the deep shadow to arceus’s light” and lives in the opposite world, so it’s appearance is the opposite counterpart of arceus and the other origin forms
I had no idea they got origin formes in the new games, and as my first impression actually think both forms look sublime. Giratina looks different for good reason.
I think their origin forms look great, because in the end they're supposed to be eerie, terrifying, almost hard to look at deities that helped shape the world as we know it.
@@flamethrower1273 I think the main thing is that they're different from what people might've expected. personally I absolutely adored Palkia's origin form the moment I saw it. it took a while for me to get used to Dialga's one but it's grown on me with time.
I like the idea that they're trying to mimic Arceus, but in doing so, they distort their bodies in damaging ways that (in theory) prevent them from using their signature moves; Dialga can't use Roar of Time because its throat is obstructed, while Palkia can't use Spatial Rend because its claws are gone. In trying to achieve Arceus' power, they lose an integral piece of themselves. That was what made me get past my initial reaction and really appreciate the new designs.
You know when look at the New Palkia/Dialga designs in a vacuum, they look kinda silly. However, once you size them in comparison to humans, they look far more intimidating
Still not much for these designs. At least for Palkia. It feels like they just stuck their torso on a horse body, changed a thing or two, and called it.
Origin Palkia is such a cool design. It's like an armored knight on horseback was put through an eldritch filter. Palkia's two forms are different otherworldy sides of the same mythical coin: the knight and the dragon.
Despite similar attack patterns one can perceive Palkia as erasing space to get close to you (Like Okuyasu in Jojo diamond is unbreakable) While dialga you can perceive it as stopping time then coming at you much like Diavolo or Dio.
I think the cutscenes with Dialga and Palkia are my absolute favorite in this game, especially the one where you arrive and the other is powering up as you throw out the one you caught and they block the blast, blowing the roof off of the temple. And the Origin ball catch is just clean! Love the hell out of this game. (Even if some things could have used some work, the overall good way outweighs the bad for me)
The pure joy on Lucas' face when he catches Palkia/Dialga and the error screen disappears under rays of light will always make me smile, the cutscenes in this game, as rare as they felt, were absolutely on point
So for those who think they should move in the battle, I believe its cool because It looks like Dialga/Palkia are creating a new world and while they are distracted you battle
Fun fact: Palkia is the harder of the two bosses! He not only has a suddenly attack, he also had a Spatial Rend, which you cannot dodge and deals a lot of damage!
The Pokémon Company’s true crime with Legends isn’t the frame rate. It’s the fact they didn’t let me screenshot that ending scene! It’s so beautiful, I mean, come on!
@@kripdomii1841 not really consider its call ROAR of Time. Roar implying it comes from its mouth. But you are right Gamefreak has changed Roar of Time animation to be a beam like in the anime, the original animation was more of a giant shock wave followed by explosions eminating in all directions.
I like Palkia more than Dialga, but Dialga translated into an Arceus-like appearance way better than Palkia did. Origin Palkia looks like an entirely different thing, like some sort of mutant centaur. Origin Dialga looks like it was always made to be reminiscent of Arceus, amd feels way more natural of a transformation
@@theguy7910 There’s a theory says that dialga and palkia tries to imitate arceus in these forms so arcues punished them by removing palkia’s arm so he can’t do special rend and put that thing in dialga’s neck so he can’t do roar of time. I like it !!
Btw it’s really easy to capture the legendary in this game once they are drowsy and in the red in a normal pokeball. Looks way cooler to have them in a normal one along with the rest of the team
Oh if they had it in the game I’d have put Dialga in a Premier ball like I did way back in original Diamond. Also Ultraballs can catch the first legend you get at full health…
But Dialga looks like it's choking! no offense, normal Dialga it's one of my favorites but they really did it dirty giving it that geometry nightmare of a body.
0:48 and 8:09. The legendary gods of space and time come to you. They are confused and angry. Reality is crumbling under catastrophic force. Something distorts the balance of these deities. Under an unknown force, they have succumbed to their desire for power revealing their original form. They try to match their creator without success, because one cannot exist without the other. Now our world is in real danger. This is your goal. The reason for your trip. Stop this frenzy, awaken the maddened gods and fulfill your destiny. The palkia and dialga first theme reflecting the fight of diamond and pearl editions. And the awesome new theme from the origin forms, symbolozing the spiral of madness of this legendary Pokémons and the sensation of the end of the world. This the decisive moment. Simply epiccc!!! If you read al of this, thank you!!! And good luck in the battle!!!
Can we also appreciate how GOOD some of the cutscene animations are? Like, obviously still a ways away from where they should be but, damn. Are they ever better than what we've gotten in the past
personally while i agree we shouldve had stuff like this on the 3ds and gotten better cutscenes by now, these were such a treat. im glad my favorite pokémon was done justice, where he wasnt in diamond pearl or the remakes.
I’m not sure if I even want a copy but if I get one my first choice is usually the fire starter. Depending how I want to form my team my second choice is the water starter. The only time I picked the grass starter was Ultra Sun/Ultra moon. I picked rowlet in that game because it had false swipe in its move set and I really wanted a false swiper
@Top Trunks right, Im coping while I repeatedly sideroll and throw flasks in the great final battle of pokemon assrceus You high on copium kid, go walk empty maps in the game to clear your mind
I love Palkia's Origin design so much, at first I thought Dialga was cooler (leak pics)... then I saw this animation, and yeah Palkia is much more menacing, I'm glad I picked Adaman... and Judging by the animation quality, its obvious Palkia Origin Form was the canonical boss, considering how much better it suited him than Dialga.
This is why I always stayed a Palkia fan. Y’all hating on him for having no arms when Dialga can’t even breathe. They’re both supposed to look like that, even if it is considered “lazy”. Stfu with that judgement, that’s why Arceus is the god not yall. Too stupid to comprehend what it takes to makes a universe. You’re a trainer stay in your lane Edit: no pun intended
In a way it seems as though the origin forms of were manipulating both time and space. Such as the move where they move close to you extremely quickly can be seen as manipulating time and the pink aura around the meteor crash sites shows that space was manipulated
I have always loved origin palkia. It may look weird but not only is it menacing, but i like the weirdness of it. And i’m being honest, a serpent/snake like creature or a 2 legged origin form would’ve been worse Origin palkia looks amazing animated Edit: the lore palkia and dialga have with the clans are amazing, and i find them to be true bosses
my personal theory as to why they look weird Giratina causing them to frenzy is basically whispering in the deitys ears "Hey so your powerful right? so why not be God?/Arceus?" only for the two to go "YEAH YOUR RIGHT!" and transform. But since they are only children of arceus, they were never meant to be arceus, and so will always look malformed. Dialga coming from a dimension of time in chaos, his front legs are flattened, his markings protruding in awkward angles, showing us time is haywire, perspective no longer matters to Dialga like it does in our world Palkia though controls space, like water, it can be whatever it wants, and thus picks what in its frenzied mind would be a beautiful form higher than its creator, wings, magestic horse like features and sweeping tail like a coat. It can be whatever it wants to be,
I loved how you could freely move around the battlefield this game was the best Pokémon game also the bosses had some references to Mario and Zelda games
Imagine reverting to your origin forms to gain the power of Arceus, just to get rektd by a 15 yr old. WITH BALMS. These legendaries can't catch a break 😭
The way their origin forms have shapes that our eyes are uncomfortable with looking at, make me feel like the art design of these two are supposed to have an eldritch element to it. It is as if Dialga and Palkia are godlike entities that we humans cannot comprehend and their old unnatural forms adhere to that philosophy. It takes a different perspective if you wish to appreciate the beauty of their designs.
Just like everyone else, I HATED the designs of the origin forms when I first saw the leaked stationary images. Now that I've seen them animated in-game, they aren't so bad. I kinda understand the concept behind them a bit better, now. The diamond protruding from Dialga's neck is probably the same protrusion that is usually seen on its chest, except its been re-drawn. I'm not entirely sure what it's overall design is supposed to resemble, but it definitely does look more "crystalline" in appearance, which I suppose does fit it's theme as being the mascot of the original "Diamond" game. I do like how the crest around its waist sort of looks like the hands on a clock. As for Palkia, I was also wondering why it didn't have arms at first. But I suppose the devs thought "if we give it arms it'll look too humanoid" and they didn't want that, because it's still supposed to be an animal. The centaur design does fit nicely with the overall theme of God, horse-drawn chariots, etc. Palkia also more closely resembles Giratina in its non-origin form, since Giratina's upper body is also very long and it doesnt have arms. Overall I also like the vague resemblance to Arceus as well, because it fits the biblical theme of humanity being "created in God's image."
Lots of people hating on these two And with dialga I agree, and I can see where people are coming from, but palkia honestly isn't too bad in my opinion Sure, looks kinda strange but that has it's own charm. At the very least it's certainly not the worst design out there. And I like that they decided to take a risk with the designs, I'd rather have a bunch of eldritch beasts than Pokémon like muk who are some incredibly uninspired and lazy designs in comparison It feels like they tried, and I appreciate it. When I first saw Origin Palkia after going in almost completely blind I was surprised by the form but I didn't dislike it by any means. I actually found it quite horrifying, seeing palkia bend its body in an attempt to recreate the power of Arceus but failing and losing some of its signature features as punishment and then turning its fury directly onto the player. I also really like the fight itself, while the balms don't really make much sense in the context I really like that they don't let you defend yourself with Pokémon. It instills a sense of panick when you realise you're on your own, having to rely on your own reflexes to fight a literal God with absolutely no assistance. It makes it feel even better when you beat it because it was you who did it, it was you who faced the Gods of space and time and came out on top. It shows that while your pokemon are a big part of how you've gotten to this point you aren't without skill yourself, and it's still your adventure. With Origin Dialga i wish they'd stuck to armor rather than having it merge and fade into the skin color because it just doesn't look right to me. I'm not sure how i would've felt if the roles were reversed either, with my first experience being Origin Dialga instead of Origin Palkia. You can only play a game for the first time once after all, and I don't plan on resetting my whole save for the other experience when it's pretty much just a different model which looks worse imo instead of Palkia.
@@Chickoboy yeah, I realised that when I did the rematch I guess I just got lucky/unlucky and he never did the attack that leads into the pokemon battle

Only thing i don't get about is why are these incomplete forms just completely superior to the more refined forms they get in terms of stats, and it's not like the stat difference is even massive or anything...
Well this technicaly aint the actual end to the game if we being specific
This game deserves DLC. But hey the fanboys cosigned Gen 9 to be rushed.
So it's confirmed that this game takes place 100 years ago before DPP timeline?
@@madworldisrael7584 it has been reported that it was.
Dialga ate a car and palkia got rid of his both arms........ bruv
I had no idea they got origin formes in the new games, and as my first impression actually think both forms look sublime. Giratina looks different for good reason.

@@paradoxsans8640 Thats why I think dark dialga from pkm md2 is better
Y’know, as Origin Palkia and Diagla, it looks a LOT more like their creator Arceus…it even has a disc around their abdomen similar to Arceus.
I think that was the point...
I want to unsee that because it's not seeing them like that
They did that because they think if they look like arceus they’ll have its power
iirc then arceus created the dpp trio by splitting himself up so it makes sense for them to kinda look like it
I like the idea that they're trying to mimic Arceus, but in doing so, they distort their bodies in damaging ways that (in theory) prevent them from using their signature moves; Dialga can't use Roar of Time because its throat is obstructed, while Palkia can't use Spatial Rend because its claws are gone. In trying to achieve Arceus' power, they lose an integral piece of themselves.
That was what made me get past my initial reaction and really appreciate the new designs.

"Hey so your powerful right? so why not be God?/Arceus?"
only for the two to go
"YEAH YOUR RIGHT!" and transform. But since they are only children of arceus, they were never meant to be arceus, and so will always look malformed.
Dialga coming from a dimension of time in chaos, his front legs are flattened, his markings protruding in awkward angles, showing us time is haywire, perspective no longer matters to Dialga like it does in our world
Palkia though controls space, like water, it can be whatever it wants, and thus picks what in its frenzied mind would be a beautiful form higher than its creator, wings, magestic horse like features and sweeping tail like a coat. It can be whatever it wants to be,
Palkia should either have been a satyr or centaur

The way their origin forms have shapes that our eyes are uncomfortable with looking at, make me feel like the art design of these two are supposed to have an eldritch element to it. It is as if Dialga and Palkia are godlike entities that we humans cannot comprehend and their old unnatural forms adhere to that philosophy. It takes a different perspective if you wish to appreciate the beauty of their designs.
Palkia's form looks like a Pegasus.
More like Spacial Pegasus!
More like an armless centaur!
Palkia as a horse looks weird in my opinion I like him in his original form
This man is always on it. Didn’t this game just come out😂🔥🔥🔥🔥
He has a modded switch and plays the games early because of it. He also records beforehand so that his content is always first.
Lots of people hating on these two
And with dialga I agree, and I can see where people are coming from, but palkia honestly isn't too bad in my opinion
Sure, looks kinda strange but that has it's own charm. At the very least it's certainly not the worst design out there. And I like that they decided to take a risk with the designs, I'd rather have a bunch of eldritch beasts than Pokémon like muk who are some incredibly uninspired and lazy designs in comparison
It feels like they tried, and I appreciate it.
