What ethical concerns do you have about the current state of artificial intelligence?
I'm not worried about artificial intelligence --I'm worried about the people using artificial intelligence.
Deepfake used to lie / manipulate in politics, media, etc. You will be able to make anyone say anything you want them to say. It's already difficult to sort out clips used out of context, things intentionally left out, etc. Imagine a video of someone saying/doing something and you can't even discern whether it's the real human being or a faked image/video of them saying/doing it.
The destruction of human creativity by books, music, movies, etc. being created by AI without us even being told that's what it is.
The destruction/erasing of history.
Existing works being altered by it to conform to the current "woke" neo commie standards.
Internet searches/research being dominated by it. Not only will we not not be able to find correct information, we won't even realize it's incorrect.
The list is endless. It's horrifying. I feel like reality is being ripped out from under me. But people don't even care.
I'm scared to see how much it with evolve... there's definitely an advantage to learning how to use it to keep up with society and work. I do think it will be part of what the bible talks about with end times for sure.
The fact that it fits perfectly into an arsenal that is increasingly being used to destroy any positive morals and traditions we cling to.
I am concerned about the ignorance of the people as before the Day of Divine Intervention. How can the common people of all races, all religions, all belief mechanisms come to understand what needs to be done on earth to save them.
One of the major problems is we have morally bankrupt people in charge of this who only care about power and money.

I'm only about 10 minutes in. I appreciate him giving definitions. He's always been good at explaining things in a way non science-y people can understand, but without talking to us like we're stupid. That's such an important trait for a teacher.
Also, while I'm old enough to know public personas are not the full picture of who someone is (and can often be entirely put on) he's always seemed like the sweetest man. Like the grandpa I wish I had known. I can't imagine even the hardcore anti-theists disliking him on a personal level.

I agree. Those who are pushing this madness of uploading human consciousness into the internet or whatever super intelligence, are terrified bc they don’t have Christ, and it’s just my humble opinion that they don’t want to turn to our Savior to ask for forgiveness and to repent bc they don’t feel the brokenness, destitution or helplessness that those who come to Christ to be born again would experience. They love the power, wealth, and control that they have-they don’t want to give it up. They love their lives, and elite of this world have everything they could ever want; this short life for them appears to be quite comfortable. They think they have no need for God. So they want to continue living in their sin, and to carry on rejecting Him. They want to literally to become their own god’s, by taking life, reality, and destiny as they know it, into their own hands. They’re in a sense saying, nope, we’re not going to live by God’s rules and His plan for us, but instead they’re making up their own rules. They insist on continuing to reject our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but deep down they know the price of that is to spend eternity in hell. But they think they can actually bypass eternity in hell by uploading themselves in a utopia or artificial heaven of their own making.
It’s completely delusional and beyond ridiculous to think they can somehow beat God at His own plan. I’m so grateful that God has already won, and that we don’t have to worry about what the ending is going to be.✝️♥️

It's interesting that they are atheists and materialists, yet they talk of "uploading" our "consciousness" something that is not possible according to THEIR worldview. The brain is a physical thing. The mind is not. So how do you capture it in order to upload it anywhere? Could you capture the brain's electrical impulses in the way we "capture" digital information? Maybe. But even that would not be the same as a person's actual mind and consciousness. They think we are just robots made out of meat. They do not take into account that people have traits that are not physical. Our essence is not physical. That's why the body dies but the soul lives on. (Until our bodies also are resurrected.) But they don't believe in any of that. So they think they can manipulate our bodies in these ways and it will work.

I was horrified by how many times he said some version of, "human rights are a fiction." These are the types of people who will be implementing this AI stuff.

I feel ethical issues with A.I. is same at any stage : that is when it becomes clear that society as a whole thinks that we have figured it all out and think we now don’t need God!

Mr Taunton this is very interesting but primarily I would say that no one can contest what God has created. Secondly, I would say that the future may be of a world where "good" and "bad" AI may be fogtinh each other, which reminds me of a concept that I analyze as a young person when I said that those "super heroes" maybe powerful and find themselves fighting those like them. And such could be a possibility in that one could use this for "good"

Also the "we don't know and thus be afraid" comes from the fact that you cannot really exactly control what a machine learning model will learn. The whole point is that, it is a black box. The learning algorithm just sort of figures out an approximation of its task, and you cannot possibly explain how and why all those numbers it comes up with to approximate actually works.
That's the whole thing about AI explainability. You can't do it, not completely. Therefore, there will always be a "ghost in the machine" type of thing that nobody can quite say how it will respond to every kind of input.

they have learnt to live with each other and cooperate, so why would artificial people think any differently? religists LOVE to be pessimistic and NONE of the doom they predict happens, i wish religious people would build a spaceship and bugger off.
Modern day philosophers complicate what it means to be human. It's really pretty simple: we need to dispense with all this technology, and go back to having more one-to-one relationships between between families, and we need to reestablish a sense of community that was enjoyed by people in a bygone era. I consider the frills of modern technology to be entirely unnecessary and dehumanizing. Modern medicine and agriculture have saved many lives, and I don't consider most of that to be "frills." I believe humankind would be far better off without unnecessary cyborgs and transhumanist technological frills.
We should not ascribe AI higher than what it really is, i.e. a limited, deterministic turing machine that is very good at mimicking and combining examples, but for AI, too, it still applies: garbage in is garbage out. So never trust an AI blindly on its hallicunations but test every answer and above all keep thinking for yourself.

As someone who develops "artificial intelligence" (I hate that label, I call it machine learning), I laugh at people who think these things are or ever will be conscious or true intelligence. All of it, I mean all of it, comes down to basically massive multiplication tables. Well, addition a lot, but you get the point.

Regulating AI is a pipe dream. All you need to build and AI is a bunch off hefty computers and a bus load of programmers. The recipe for basic AI is well known the Tech community. Iran, North Korea, China, and Russia have AI programs under way. It's trivial for them to share information with their allies and build more powerful AI networks. We need to build safeguards to protect us from hostile actors using AI against us.
in China it may be 1 camera for every 3 people --- but in the UK it has been 3 cameras per person for quite a while now.
