"... and then misses beautifully." This much has been my experience too. That is why we use target saturation with a redundant attack of inexpensive drones (RAID). Good stuff!

Absolutely! In a weird way, the ones that miss are often the most useful, as they make the turrets aim behind them, letting the rest get in more easily. I love the RAID idea; the first 2-3 torpedoes are usaully shot down anyway, so we could decoy and armour them up instead, and give them a more 'drunken' flight pattern. Will be a nice upgrade to the current torpedo array.

May I ask why you are add ing a reverse thruster on a missile/torpedo? That will slow it down.

The reverse thrust is optional. Most don't have it, because in older versions a targeting bug could cause the missile to stop and come to a standstill; whereas if the missile is unable to stop, it would just continue towards the target.
I prefer having reverse thrust, because if the missile misses the target, it can turn around much faster. I feel like it improves accuracy against moving targets as well. The reverse thruster doesn't slow down the missile because the offensive AI just won't use it unless it needs to (for turning, etc.).
