I quit music in Ramadan. It really changed my life sisters. I used to listen to music every waking hour, while studying, right after praying, and songs were stuck in my head even while praying. Ever since I quit music, I finally feel like I have control over my mind again. Music also gives a huge opportunity to shaytan to take control of your emotions and make you do things under a bad influence.
thank you. i think another thing to consider is how music with relatable and sad lyrics is a lot more accessible to the Muslim who isn't proficient in Arabic, where the Qur'an might be their second option. may Allah SWT make it easy for us
Sister Allahumma barik, you're a true inspiration. It literally felt like you were speaking to me when you mentioned maladaptive daydreaming. It is something im trying to quit. But continue making these videos, may Allah bless you.
This is so true, its either music or quran.. and there's unfortunately no in between. This sin is major yet whenever we're asked if we listen to music, we say no and its a shock to everyone!! Not recognizing any songs or lyric references is considered "living under a rock". But they dont know the peace that comes with it alhamdulillah. May allah give us the tawfeeq to escape from this sin and make it easy for the ummah , ameen 🤍🤍
this is so true shurkan for the video..as someone who use to listen to music everyday from school soemtimes till the morning without praying my five daily salaahs but since the beginning of the year i quit music although i still occasionly consume kpop songs i am praying all mt five daily salaahs but not reading the quran..i think its time to leave the kpop community for my own spiritual health ❤🩹❤🩹,may Allah grant us tawfeeq and understanding ameen thumma ameen
Praying for you and I both sister 😭😭 leaving K-pop felt like such an impossible and painful thing for a minute but alhamduAllah things will get better with time ❤
salaam aleikum, thank you for including the study in description and sharing the knowledge. This was a very good push and boost to make an improvement I've been debating, jazak allah khair
6:36 perfect advice cos that's what I've been attempting to doing. Thank you for going into the scientific drawbacks of listening to music, it helps understand why it's haram and makes me motivated to reduce it and attempt to avoid it.
Waleikum salam , I agree on that part . Music does control you in a way I dono about others but when I listened to vocals only in certain sad songs since musical instruments were haram but still I could say the vocals have the same effect at it would have with the musical instruments combined in the song . Music or vocals both controls your feelings and thoughts and basically it digs up your past feelings too . I struggled with quitting vocals but so far alhamdulilah I am doing fine . So to my dear brothers and sisters who think they can't do it just know that it takes Time just like healing takes time this will also take time , take baby steps and pray to Allah . Also acoperita keep going sis I love your content so far I am keep on supporting you ❤
subhanAllah sister. i saw this video alot on my feed but i didnt watch it at first bc i stopped music Alhamdulilah. But what really resonated with me was the maladaptive daydreaming. I used to love it so much and other things caused my daydreaming like shows, animes etc. I am still struggling with this, even though i know its bad and has no positive effect in the real world or my deen.
music can be so powerful it takes over the mind and it may depend on the kind of music you usually listen to and it may be better to listen to calming music like meditation as a alternative and slowly lower the amount. thank you sister, I believe in god but I’m not muslim tho Im trying to find my belief. 💕
I haven't listened to my favorite albums in MONTHS all for Allahs sake, it is possible. I do still listen to STRICTLY vocals only Nasheed's, but they are problematic!!! PLEASE make a video about todays over-processed nasheed's sister!
What’s so crazy, you become a foreigner to even some Muslims because you don’t listen to music. You need to be the example your friends change if you can’t you change your circle with righteous and pious people who accept criticism and are not arrogant.
Hey sister. I’m a Muslim girl living in a Muslim country. I really wanna start wearing khimar and abayas but 1 I have a school uniform and 2 my family is very judgmental. Once I was with friends wearing abayas and these girls didn’t know I was there friend and they started crap talking them. Please help
Are you from an Arab country? This is happening in Arab countries. Hijab ban in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, etc. countries. Islam is a dead religion 🥲
Assalamualaikum my sister, I’m very sorry to hear that it’s hard for you. The passing judgement will be hard but we cannot get used to something until we get comfortable with the uncomfortable. My advice is to slowly ease into it and force yourself despite how you feel, unless things get physical, such as your parents hurting you, then I’d suggest you do what you can and stick with that. 💓
Can anyone please reply, is watching her videos permissible for me ,as it helps me boost my iman . I'm Asking this because i'm 18 male . Even tho i have unfollowed every woman from my social media platform even if they are a hijabi or not .
A few thoughts: 1. There are studies that show music lowers blood pressure and cortisol levels, there are also studies that show the Quran has a similar effect. I put the studies in the reply below, I hope they show 2. Is this video about (a certain type of) rap music or just music in general, because it seems like a logical fallacy to talk about the 'negatives' of music when you really mean rap music? I just skimmed through a study that was published a few years after the one in the description that showed world and country music listeners are less likely to smoke marijuana compared to rap, techno, and reggae listers. It also showed that Asian music listeners of rap and techno are less likely than Black listeners to do drugs. The same study also showed that listeners of rock music were less likely to be aggressive than rap listeners. 3. Is it really the music that produces the behavior or is it the environment/culture that produces the behavior, that the music is apart of?

@@LoveLo-ow9wx yes, as I mentioned in my video, the video was going to be a surface level video about music, hence why the example I gave was mainly focused on rap as to not prolong the video. Furthermore, I had mentioned that we can argue that music had positive effects, however, that person will still be dependant on that music regardless because we rely on it for how we feel, as u mentioned it affects blood levels and cortisol levels. I also mentioned that not all rap music glorifies bad things but the kind produced today does glorify those things and we can see the impact it has on younger children and adolescents. That’s just to clarify some things in case you may have not understood or maybe didn’t notice. In relation to your question about culture, I think it may play a role to some extent but not fully.
