Jake.E.Lee is one of the most underrated & best guitarists ever. I loved his Ozzy stuff, especially his work on 'The Ultimate Sin', but he really found his groove with Badlands. The self-titled album is a masterpiece of blues and shredding and Voodoo Highway was almost as good. His playing on 'A Fine Pink Mist' which he did at home with a drum machine after Ray Gillian died, is really unique. Red Dragon Cartel is loose and bluesy. He has never been sloppy. I wish he had found another singer/muse after Ray died that would have kept him in the scene. Man is a genius! Want this AMP NOW! Side note: Gary Holt from Exodus is just as underrated and as good IMO.

I like that you used a Jake E Lee guitar. Back in the 80s I always noticed that Jake had his own guitar that was similar but fairly different than what literally everyone else was playing. He had a Charvel, but it was a hardtail. He had slightly different pickups. Etc. I was always impressed by how he played the game but with his own just slightly different rules.

Jake's always been one of my top five favorite players in any style of music. A great, well-rounded player. He was miles ahead of the competition in the 80s. He had his own style, didn't sound like an Eddie clone, and had a real maturity to his playing that was missing in most 80s shredders. He was extremely well seasoned by the time he got the Ozzy gig, and he sure proved himself in an impossible situation. He had to win over die-hard Randy fans and that was not easy. A lot of people threw shade at him. But now people see just how great he is. It's undeniable.

Your talent to zero-in on a guitarist's signature sound and idiosyncrasies combined with your ability to create a new work (rhythm AND lead) that pays such respect -- and then play it flawlessly -- just puts a smile on my face in the middle a workday grind. I literally smiled uncontrollably in my office at the end of this intro and had to write this. I regularly rewatch your 5150 overdrive pedal demo where you nail Eddie's style and swing for that reason ... and now you do justice to Jake E Lee. So hard to do. So well done.

Aside from your always-amazing demos and the killer tone of the amp, a very nice nod to Jake's original white Charvel!

Spot on with the King’s X tone. Ty was using a Marshall 30th Anniversary head around that time with his signature Zion guitar.

For decades, I always thought Jake E was so underrated! He's a Legend. As a not so gud guitar player, I know how difficult to just write 1 great song! Jake wrote and played som of the most memorable solos, as well as epic rhythm chord progressions that rivals the best of the best....with all the harmonics and speed and heavy attack you ever need...and all without a wammy!!

I have this amp now, and it’s unbelievable. I’ve had some pretty great amps in my life, played many other great amps and I’ve got to be honest.. this may just be the best amp I’ve ever played. Had it a couple weeks now and the more I play it the more it impresses me and I think it’s worth every penny I paid for it. I have had a few Friedman, still have the JJ, but to me this amp is special. I love having a great mid 60’s Plexi as my clean channel, and a perfect 800 for channel 2. The more I play it the more I love it.

Great playing as always! I love Jake and have always had lots of respect for him and his guitar playing. But King's X is my alltime favorite band and when you do the The Train intro I immediately had this big smile on my face. What a fantastic sound! :-)

Ha! I clicked on this not knowing whose video it was. I wasn't watching but was just listening. And I thought to myself, "there's a ton of people playing TH-cam videos, but this guy can really play!! " Hey Pete!!
