  • Looking back at the Nintendo 64, it had a lot of pretty weird games. For this list, we’ll be showcasing the oddest, most bizarre games of Nintendo’s first 3D console. However, we won’t be including any games that only launched in Japan. Our list includes “Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls” (1998), “Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon” (1998), “Tonic Trouble” (1999), “Hybrid Heaven” (1999), and more! Have you played any of these oddities? Is there a weird game you think we should have included? Share your thoughts in the comments!

I think there is at least one weird game not in the list, and who was fabulous : Space Station Silicon Valley.
Taking the control of kind of all sort of animals with specific power (a fox on ski, with rockets and boost for example) was really really strange and funny

Mystical ninja was one of the first games I had for the n64 and its still one of my favorite games to this day. Sidenote, the games silliness and over the top dramatics as well as the theatrical concept comes from Kabuki Theater, an ancient Japanese style of performance art that is still practiced to this day

I've played a whole bunch of these! I had a pretty sweet N64 collection as a kid (still do, actually) and so a lot of these more offbeat choices I've played. I've played Glover, Tonic Trouble, Earthworm Jim 3D, Rocket, Chameleon Twist, and Mischief Makers. I sadly haven't played Mystical Ninja, but I have played Goemon's Great Adventure (could also make the list). I still have all those games I've played except Chameleon Twist and Mischief Makers because we only rented them and never bought them. I'm looking for them to actually own them.

Oh. My. Gosh. Robot on Wheels! I have been searching for what that game was called LITERALLY all my life. I’m 27 and when I was like 5 we went to Blockbuster and I rented this game. I remember not knowing what the heck I was doing on this game and just running around everywhere. And literally my whole life I would sit and think about this game and wonder what it was called. I even tried googling it to try to find it and I was just never googling the correct thing. And I randomly clicked on this video and it was on here. Wow…. Just wow…

I owned it, and it was actually pretty fun. Of course it was difficult just based on the limitations of they system, but unlocking a new world with a new theme and new powers was pretty cool.

  • @TurkeyFaceX
    @TurkeyFaceX ปีที่แล้ว

True these are weird entries. Video games as a whole were just a different beast back in the day. This was a totally different era and with it being the earliest generation to focus on games with 3D models many developers didn't yet know how to translate the weird ideas that sort-of worked in the past into a 3D space. Honestly, some of the classic SNES and Sega Genesis games were equally bizarre, like Earthworm Jim and Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit.

I said it once before and I'll say it again:
I REALLY have a hard time seeing what people find so bad about "Earthworm Jim 3D" when they literally praise and critique "Super Mario 64" and both "Banjo-Kazooie" titles for the exact same thing... Plus, the uninvolvement of Douche TenNipples and the fact Dan voiced Jim again almost makes it, dare I say, BETTER than the original...

I still own chameleon twist 1 and 2 and Glover to this day funny story when I was a kid my mother bought me chameleon twist by accident thinking it was a Pokemon game because as a 90s kid I was all about Pokémon shocker but my mom was the typical mom for Pokémon everything is a pikachu and anything anime related or cartoony looking is Pokémon well hard to believe I actually enjoyed the game Pokémon stadium is of course leagues better but chameleon twist was no doubt a hidden gem I would have never played had that mistake never happened 🤷

    No Mario?
A Man wo is Immortal and cant age.
He is since 1982 35 years old.
This heavy overweight plumber stealing all the Gold and items from most Peaceful enemys they just passing by.
On his strange quest to resque almost every day a Princess who rules over Mushroom peoples in her Mushroom Kingdom.
Mario have to slide through gigantic drainpipes to progress the game or find secrets or Gold.
But he can eat Poisen Mushrooms to make his Body Growth almost Trippe his size.
    (Mario also eat Mushroom Peoples?!)
And if he eat Flowers, he can Shoot fireballs out of his finger.
    But there are more things...
    Evil Mushroom Peoples called Gumbas?!
You have to kill them the Rescue the Prinzess to 128. time from a Lizzard - Turtle - Dinasour ?!
    But what i never forget.
Mario hit his "friend" Yoshi a Baby Dinosaur every single time with his Fist on his head to force him to eat the Enemys.
What kind of Friendship is this?!
And all Charakters are not allowed to talk.
    They talking with there throughts?!
Not a single Charakter can talk or have a voice.
    This is really Creepy.
Only some strange noices they make or Speaking 100 of Words only by saying: Okay.
    Or Lets go.
I really wonder why Mario is not at first place.
