That's not really true: agencies do pay for everything but then the models have to pay them back once they make it famous. And if they don't make it they're in debt

yep. i tried to pursue modeling in miami but it drained my wallet had to move to on to other things lol. it's a tough industry.

stanbalo trust me most models really don’t and are down to earth. In the industry they are not celebrities or looked up to. They’re workers, displaying a product. Unless they’re newbies with a big ego / ignorance, or supermodels /nepotism products they are very humble. It’s a stressful job that doesn’t allow such attitude

I don’t think anyone on Vogue has been so friendly and genuine. Like the frequent direct eye contact with the camera is like being in the room with her. Speaking to the girl showing you the ropes and telling you how it is. What a sweetheart!
She is sensational. A great storyteller, articulate with a magnetic personality to boot. Whoever is in charge of profile selction for this program is absolutely killing it. She was such a joy to watch.

Compared to the rest of the models on this she seems much more normal; she doesnt try to overly present herself, shares insight into things she enjoys and actually tries to relate to normal people. Shes great as a role model to show that models can just be ordinary people!

She’s not “trying to relate to normal people”. She is a normal person that was a recognized for having a unique look. That’s all there is to it. She’s just being herself. She’s not really a “popular girl type” (no offense but most marching band kids aren’t) or a child of wealthy and rich people like many models are.
So happy Sara was chosen for this. She is literally one of the nicest and coolest girls. Super talented, humble, and one of a kind. Congratulations Sara!
I am always impressed to see how many people are behind these shows, hundreds of jobs depend on this industry, it is incredible. I did not know her but she seems to be very friendly and down to earth.

@@verynormalusername Actually models can develop insicurities, because this business, for most of them, is about how they look like, so some of them tend to compare themselves to other models. Even Karen Mulder declared she never liked her appeal comparing to other models and she tend to starve herself. Why do you think is there a lot of envy in this business?

She’s the sweetest and most reliable model I’ve ever seen. Her life and routine (outside of the runway) are so common to most people and that makes me happy ahah :) (mostly to know that some models today can feed themselves in a healthy way, and feel accomplished in their personal life).

She was everywhere but it was like 12 years ago. She then made a comeback several years ago but imo she's lost her appeal bc she's not aged well (personal opinion), also the baby face era is over....
She was scouted at 14 and famous by 15...she's 32 now
@@TheNobnob I don't know if the baby face era is exactly over tbh. Gigi Hadid, for one, has a very similar look to Gemma but yeah Gemma's not young anymore so I get why she's not the "in" thing. Not every model has a long career unless you're conventionally pretty or hot.
Gemma Ward was affected by Heath Ledger’s death. She also gained some weight (possibly related). Now sadly she is a bit “old” by industry standards.
