  • Welcome back to Lodge Life!
As usual, this week is full of adventure as I'm about to take some days off. Christian and Dwayne are holding down the fort as Ted, Seanick and myself are heading home for a few days. For me that means meeting up with Brent, Minnie and the RV somewhere in BC which requires a vehicle... and my car is at my parents house in Barrhead, Alberta.
So I called my brother, Kris. He called me back in half an hour and agreed to drive my car to Vancouver then fly home the next day. Luckily he was able to fit me in to his schedule. What an awesome brother to have!
After getting my car I drove up the Coquihalla highway to Merritt and met Brent. We spent a night in Quilchena which was a flashback. We both led such different lives when we met there 10 years ago. We then continued through Kamloops, Clinton, Cache Creek towards Chasm. Up a logging road and into the middle of nowhere where I discovered there was a hole in my tire. We had it towed to 100 mile house where I could pick it up with brand new tires on Monday. Just in time to head back to work.
I hope you enjoyed watching this video and if you did, please subscribe!!
    Take care until next time!

Growing up on the central coast, I remember people taking crab apart before cooking, cleaning out the guts, etc. we always cooked whole.

    • @jenny_adrift
      @jenny_adrift  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I’ve only ever cooked them whole but I can see how it might be convenient to clean them first. There’s so many ways of doing things. That’s what I love about cooking.

Another great video Jenny, I really do love that Canadian wilderness just takes my breath away, as for the flat Tyre one stubborn nut cost you a tow but I reckon you found the best way to fill in the time, that lake was beautiful and it was awesome to me to see you catch and release some those beautiful salmon, not something we have here in NZ and I have never tried fly fishing here anyway, maybe I need to chill out more 🤣🤣 l think if I had made a serious attempt to travel earlier in life I could have settled in Canada quite well. Don't stress if you can't always reply to me anyway you have a busy life and you're taking us all along with you 😋👍🇳🇿

Took a short ride to Lone Butte, back in the 80's ,nice to see that country again !
    The fishing it amazing !
The morels, ,, I'd pass on the fishing, I think, and would have been scrounging, although that far north, it may be a bit early.
    Wonderful dogs, everywhere ,,,
I'm still amazed at how much time and effort it takes to open a lodge up after the winter, in Rivers.
Broken water lines after a winter closed up,
must be a Canadian tradition ,,, we had a air inlet in our lines on our camp on Lake Superior to blow them out with a small compressor ,
copper lines are a bitch to repair in the spring.

Hi! Lone Butte area is beautiful for sure. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! The ice came off quite early this year and the plants are coming early as well! No snow at all which is odd for May.
Luckily the guys were able to fix the water lines yesterday and yes it is a tradition haha

You must have a top-notch camera, as am amazed at the clarity of your videos. Your editing is excellent too.
Am just wondering, in future videos, about some of the guests at the lodge. I realize that some guests may wish to remain 'anonymous', nonetheless, some of your guests may wish to divulge their nantionality, place of abode, background, employment and/or commercial or business background and reasons in coming to the lodge. That aspect would be interesting.
    Keep up the good work!
