Hi Susan and greetings from Germany 👋🏻👋🏻
I hope you see this post, because you inspired me a very deep way. I read almost all of your blog post! Thank you so much for giving all those information for free. I'd love to take a class with you, but well. You are far far away 🤭 i'm starting my very first collage projekt but no portrait or so. Just a dreamcatcher and lots (very lots) of flowers.
Today i ordered the first bulk of fabric and always kept in mind "variety is better than quantity"; "go for bright colors"; "Big patterns are better if possible"; "its all about value" and at least of course "more is better!!!" 🤗
Its like you are talking right out of my head.
    Thank you so much.
    Love Julia

Great idea! The one I made I built from the background forward, laid bricks on top of the paler background! Do you have any issues with fabric fading?

If left in the sun, yes, some fabrics will fade. I have repaired a couple of my older quilts on which it had become noticeable on a couple fabrics.

Not sure what's going on here. How is the fabric@line@ secured?

It's all glue to start. Then quilted overall. For more info: www.susancarlson.com
