But for a majority of big lottery winners, that money will buy unhappiness. Many go broke within 5 years of winning. Often spending it on luxuries &/or their vices. Often they end up poorer financially, spiritually & health wise.
It's an idea that's easier said than done for many people. Some people will win the lotto with that in mind, and think after buying a house and car, and getting themselves set up they start thinking "Well, I could afford this, and still have plenty left over". They get comfortable in the idea of "I'll have plenty of left over", and stop keeping track of their money. Then before they know it, they are broke wondering where the money went. Have you ever looked at your bank account thinking you should have XX amount there, but then find out you have less than you thought? Then you wonder where it went? Same thing, just on a much bigger scale.

If I won millions, I'd do what I do every day. Play video games and hardly spend any money, except I would quit my job and use it to pay rent and bills for the next 30 years or so. Make a few investments in some companies that have been around for a long time like Sony or Microsoft and after all that, buy a new pickup truck. Not any fancy truck, just a utility truck with a long bed and v6 engine or v4, if I can find one. That's it. The rest goes into savings.

These people live of lotto winners and know exactly what to do to make you spend all the money as fast as possible. IF I won the lottery id fix up the 2 houses i have and give them away to homeless veterans, then id buy an estate to house my entire family, id buy some building and make them into homeless vet housing and take alot of wonderful deserving people off the streets giving them an address so theyd have an address to send their benefit checks to. Build a church and employ a preacher.. tax exempt in most parts of the world so all in all a profitable little egg nest. Also you would make a fair penny on donations, books, t-shirts, paraphernalia and coffee.. When its all said and done you can sell the building or the entire "business". At which point you will then have to pay the tax, but if you play your cards right you could live a comfortable life and have a pretty good retirement. Only you may have to spend eternity in hell, so that would probably suck... but fear not I'll keep a seat cool for you.

If I won like $2million I will deposit it in several Banks, and continue working on my profession. I work on a farm. If I were to win, I would buy my own farm(s). I always imagine new machinery, an elevator, lots of gravel, some pavement, beautiful landscaping, etc. It's really a good feeling to work a farm when it looks nice and you have nice tools to work with.

Some people will win the lotto with that in mind, and think after buying a house and car, and getting themselves set up they start thinking "Well, I could afford this, and still have plenty left over". They get comfortable in the idea of "I'll have plenty of left over", and stop keeping track of their money. Then before they know it, they are broke wondering where the money went.
Have you ever looked at your bank account thinking you should have XX amount there, but then find out you have less than you thought? Then you wonder where it went? Same thing, just on a much bigger scale.

That sounds good then you realize that it only increases 1.2% a year. So if you won 1 million dollars you're making 12 thousand dollars a year. Or about a thousand dollars a month. If I won millions, I'd do what I do every day. Play video games and hardly spend any money, except I would quit my job and use it to pay rent and bills for the next 30 years or so. Make a few investments in some companies that have been around for a long time like Sony or Microsoft and after all that, buy a new pickup truck. Not any fancy truck, just a utility truck with a long bed and v6 engine or v4, if I can find one.

The thing is. When you win the lottery you get surrounded by long lost friends and family. And lawyers and agents and women. These people live of lotto winners and know exactly what to do to make you spend all the money as fast as possible. While a girl by herself would not spend a million in a year her friends can spend that money, and will spend that money. Suddenly 10% of your friends get cancer and need an expensive surgery too. Or your best friend needs $100.000 or she will lose her old house. Or a friend recommends a travel to get away from it all. And you will of course pay for it all. This is how the money is spent in a few years.

Housing, build like 4 houses, get ppl to rent them out, and get inspections regularly to make sure no damage comes to it etc... it's not hard.. just because you goto school, doesn't mean your future will provide a job that could provice money to support you until death.. @Htx457 Yep...my gf works in banking and she says the same. The guy driving the new Mercedes and wearing the $2000 suit, living in a suburban mansion probably doesn't have money. He has a high income with tons and tons of debt, and probably can't even afford to furnish all the rooms in his big house because the payments on all his fancy stuff eat up his paychecks.
The guy with big money put away and no financial worries is the little old man wearing normal clothes and driving a 20 year-old pickup truck. He earned good money working, lived within his means and saved it, or he sold his farm to a land developer for lots of money, or something like that.

IF I won the lottery id fix up the 2 houses i have and give them away to homeless veterans, then id buy an estate to house my entire family, id buy some building and make them into homeless vet housing and take alot of wonderful deserving people off the streets giving them an address so theyd have an address to send their benefit checks to. Id buy a convenience store full of supplies and food so that they could come in and swipe their ID card in order to get free food, upon swiping their ID card it would let us know digitally what they took so we could replace whats gone so the store would never run out of those products. and id set up some extreme couponing classes for people who go to food banks and educate them on how to use coupons to feed their families so they never had to go back to a food bank at all. thats what ID do

Build a church and employ a preacher.. tax exempt in most parts of the world so all in all a profitable little egg nest. Also you would make a fair penny on donations, books, t-shirts, paraphernalia and coffee.. When its all said and done you can sell the building or the entire "business". At which point you will then have to pay the tax, but if you play your cards right you could live a comfortable life and have a pretty good retirement. Only you may have to spend eternity in hell, so that would probably suck... but fear not I'll keep a seat cool for you.
If I had all the money in the world I would by a massive section of the Amazon Rainforest to protect it and I would built thousands of animal shelters all over the world.

If I win 1 million dollars I would:
1.use 100,000 dollars for video games.

3. Save 300,000 for college

If I win a lottery today I will just invest those money first before I can think about helping any one even my siblings. If I won like $2million I will deposit it in several Banks, and continue working on my profession. I will be withdrawing $40,000= every year for 50 years to supplement my job income, I may or may not die in the next 50yrs to come but even if I have to die, it will be a peaceful one so my son will inherit my left over.
