How nice to see someone who knows exactly how to use a diagnostic machine, and thinks and checks things through before just replacing parts . Most people just replace because the machine gives a code. This man double and treble checks . First class work !
Great fix, so many would have sold a new part for this.. I would like to see you rebuild the caliper on video to demonstrate to everyone how quick and easy it is to do. I have always rebuilt my calipers however most do not and just replace.
Thanks Louis, great to see the coding procedure i have a new Autel MK908P and am nervous to try programming with it but watching you has helped. Kind regards Jay🤗
just as a warning, at 3:39 you remove the motor from the ABS unit to test it. I tried the same step on my R56 Mini Cooper S. The motor shaft is slightly different with an eccentric cam. There are two followers under brake pressure in the ABS main body. If you remove the motor from the unit you will be unable to put it back without removing the ABS unit and/or removing pressure from the system. ***Update - even with the ABS unit removed, several garages were unable to refit the motor. The follower pins appear to be spring loaded with the springs press fitted to the unit. If you remove this motor you’ll be looking for a new ABS unit! Don’t do it!!***
Correct... this was the same... actually, nearly all use the same design... The system is always on low pressure... unless you are pressing the brake pedal, or the motor is being actuated... Thank you for watching and for your comment!
I have a 5E2D code pump motor open, I pulled the motor to check, but for the life of me I cannot reinstall it. It has an extra bearing, the the two spring loaded tabs in the pump, I cannot spread apart to install the pump.
Hi I’ve just purchased a Mini Cooper S 2007 model, the previous owner had just replaced the off side rear brake caliper before I purchased it. After a weeks ownership the ABS came on the dash, this couldn’t be turned off and so I had a garage check, he found that the Dynamic Stability Control unit is faulty according to his fault finder. I’m certain that he hadn’t even checked if in fact because the rear off side caliper had been changed the sensor could be at fault or hadn’t been inserted correctly. Would it be advisable to check this first before going to the trouble and expense of replacing the pump and or module?
Hey how did you get that piece back in the module? I took mine out to get access to the Trans fill bolt the other day but I can't get the piece back in? Mine seems to have a sort of cammed lobe that won't fit back into the 2 inward facing pins in the module?
I gave you a thumbs up before watching the video. Cause I know the videos from you are worth it. Just curious to know how you knew the new part would fit the car.
Part are known to be superceded over the years... so you don't always need the exact same part number... In this case I didn't knew it would 100% fit the car... but was from a same year from the same car... so... the probabilities where like 99.99999999999999% Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Another great video that shows again that a box of spanners and a multimeter are no longer enough to maintain a car at home.. However I can not afford or justify a maxisys for just working on my own car...is there any pc software that makes a reasonable substitute? Or is there anyone hiring out the tablet systems on a day/ weekly basis.. No good having the right to repair if we can not afford the tools. ..Perhaps we can look forward to a video on what makes a good home mechanic diagnostic and repair tool.
Hello there, after watching this video i got a far better understanding of how the ABS module works however, how did you put the motor back in when the two pins are extended towards the center. Im having a tough time to put the motor back in. Keep up the good vids
For a Mini R56 I am going to replace the DME+CAS and key, do I have to recode all of the modules, including ABS? I need to change it since I have opened the DME and broken some components while trying to repair it. Thank you for your video!
very interesting video. he said what .. he thinks one of the rear wheels is a bit stiff? ... he might be right. Good luck with that rear caliper. Will the maxisys program the Peug 206 abs ?
Mini Cooper 2007 1.6 diesel I have error 5DE7 The car runs well but sometimes it cuts out and the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark appears, I turn it off and on again and nothing remains on the dashboard. Someone can help me? Thank you
Hi, I think i've asked a similar question in a previous video, but I just wanted to clarify something , do you pay for each programming download (on an as-needed basis), or is it included in the yearly subscription? great videos, very informative, Thanks
LUIS, AWESOME video/information as always brother so when you programing module i know you need a subscription but do you have it with Autel yearly subscription or not i am asking because i want to buy autel tool too and enjoyable as always learn some think new today . cheeeeeeers
Great video, what does the usb plug into to program other than the Autel? Also what do you use to make sure you your car battery has enough voltage while programming? Thanks!
The VCI is J2534... So can be connected to a laptop and used with other compatible softwares... I don't use the tip top battery maintainer, but the one I use does the job... Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Hi thanks for doing this video Louis. very helpful as usual. Ive just been working on a neighbours Mini One with brake issues. I only recently found a code 5E19 which appears to be an error related to software? there are no ABS lights on the dashboard. Needless to say I havent got a maxisys to investigate any further. Any advice would be really helpful. Can you say what phone you use to video. which software do you use to edit your videos. as usual Ill reiterate your videos are some of my favourites.
Hi Not quite... 5E19 is most likely to do with the fact that the engine is sending data to the ESP module that tells him that he can't control the engine in the event of the ESP is needed due to issues on the engine itself... hope it makes sense... So, go to the engine module, and rectify any issues in there first... Thank you for watching!
Hello, Thanks for this video very helpful. I have a Mini Cooper the R56 with the same part module number 6782311, with some other numbers underneath are slightly different, my Mini Cooper has the same problem as this one, the module controller needs to be replaced. Please if you could help me, can you find me one or even two modules, one of them to keep it as a spare that will be compatible with my Mini Cooper with approximately the same price, and would you send them to Malta and let me know how much the expense is? and by the way, is the Mini kept working after you replaced the module? Thank you, Charles.
Coding only does work for some models that don't require the vin number to match... If you need to change the vin number, then you need programming/flashing... Thank you for watching!

Great video , nice to see the coding procedure

Great video. I enjoyed watching the program and code. You're a pro. Mini is such a headache , I've heard so many owners complain.

For 25 pounds it is really not worth your time to mess with that pump . That´s a nice thing when spares are readily available . Nice video as always .

There is cheap ones out there... that I never tried...
But, check the hantek ones... there is some good reviews out them...

Possibly... all depends on what codes the unit is throwing...
If is the sensor, codes should point to it...

Hi
The piece you are referring to, is the electric
motor?
👍👍👍
Hi Louis I’m having this same problem and just wondering is there a way to push the pins back in to get the pump back on ?
Which pins are referring to?

Good job from San antonio Texas USA
