    Great consolidated list. I recommend “temperature differential” over “temperature gradient”.

    All well and good for the cold dry winter months, but I hate breathing hot moist air on a hot and humid summer night.

    New CPAP user. I have a Resmed 11 with a heated tube. With the "Auto" setting, I've been getting dry mouth every night, but when I adjusted the humidity up a notch and the temp, I get rain-out. I was told that if I get a dry mouth to increase the humidity and to also increase the temp to reduce "rain out".

      Thanks for sharing, this is correct information. However, I suggest increasing your humidity gradually. Do not go from 4 to 8 overnight. Try 5 and go from there nightly depending on how much moisture you require. Nothing about air too cold while tank is relatively hot but water level is not going down as much as it used to at Maximum setting of 5 on Dreamstation. Not sure if plate is heating as high as it should. It's pretty warm to the touch but not hot. Didn't have this problem before when the air could get warm enough to cause condensation, and the water tank would be empty before the night is out, now it's the opposite, the water tank is still half full. Max Fit is 100%.

      Thanks for your question. Are you using heated tubing? If so, when you say the setting is on 5, is that the humidifier setting or the tubing setting?.
      Also, is the tubing staying very dry during the night? I suspect it is since you mentioned the water level in the tank does not change as much as you expect.
      Generally in a colder environment, the issue is that too much condensation occurs between the humidifier and the mask, not that output declines. If the tubing is staying very dry, I suspect the humidifier may need repair but I do have a couple of suggestions for you to try first.
      1) Preheat: Dreamstation has a preheat option in the settings menu. Preheat will warm the water in the humidifier prior to use. When preheat is turned on, the water in the humidifier will heat up for 30 minutes before you put on the mask. During preheat the humidifier plate should get very hot.
      2) Adaptive vs fixed humidification settings:: The DreamStation defaults to adaptive humidification. In this setting, it detects the room temperature and attempts to adjust to it. If a room is particularly cold, though, it may undershoot. Try changing to fixed humidification to see if the humidity output greatly increases.

    I've had mine since 2019 & all of a sudden my Climate Control option has dissapeared from My Options. The device is cooling randomly & I'm getting water droplets in wate is supposed to be a heated tube. Any idea what's going on?

      You may need to buy a new tube. Your hose should be switched out every 6-12 months, chances are the chip on the hose is now broken.

    Is there a risk of pneumonia with humidification? Meaning water in the lungs? Thanks.

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There's a low chance that you'll end up with so much condensation in your tubing from the humidifier that you'll end up breathing in water. If condensation is a problem, try adjusting your humidity level or use a heated hose. You have a higher chance of pneumonia if you don't clean your water chamber and hose, letting mold and bacteria buildup.

    How do you know when your Resmed 10 machine humidifier is broken

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The heater plate will not get hot or the water air will feel cold.
