      No real complaints about either one. Really depends on what you are doing and what type of wood you process.

    Nice review Brent. Two great machines with slightly different capabilities. I like the adjustability of the box wedge, and the conveyor is a game changer for me.

    • @AroundTheYard-MN
      @AroundTheYard-MN  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A conveyor is the next thing I need to work on for my operation. I really like the box wedge, I just don’t know if I would use the adjustability function of the Eastonmade. I am leaning towards splitting everything with the box wedge, but at a minimum I am now cutting everything at 16” with my Accu mark. Something I didn’t do last year and am now regretting as I need to fill bundle wood bags.

      Borrowed from @Back40Firewood for 2 minutes. Just a trial run to compare to my own Wolfe Ridge 35 SHO.

    Nice work ! Love the machine 👍. I have been running a Ruggedmade on our channel. Maybe someday I’ll step up to the big leagues with one of these bad boys. 😂

      The one that works the best, is the one that’s easy to use and paid off. Depends on how much you want to get done in a set amount of time. I stepped up to save time.

      You bet Del. The 37D has its advantages but at double the price of the Wolfe Ridge, I’m not convinced it’s worth the expense.

    I would love to see a comparison with the axis. I was thinking of bagging all those scraps

    • @AroundTheYard-MN
      @AroundTheYard-MN  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bagging scraps does work, you’re going to want to use some sort of bucket or sleeve to prevent the small pieces from catching on the bag material. My EZ Bagger works great for this. I include a few 16” scraps in every bundle for tinder/ kindling.

    I agree the height of the wolf ridge is dead on

    • @AroundTheYard-MN
      @AroundTheYard-MN  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wolfe Ridge is a good working height, not as much bending and stooping.

    Have you ever considered the SuperSplit splitter for your resplits?

    • @AroundTheYard-MN
      @AroundTheYard-MN  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have thought about a SuperSplit. I’d like to operate one someday, it might just be the ticket. To re-splitting the 4x4’s from the box wedge. Have a great day Around the Yard! - Brent

      @@AroundTheYard-MN I hear ya on that. I’m looking to starting a firewood business next year to get a jump on offsetting the expenses of a future OWB, 37D, and conveyor. From all of my research,…the SuperSplit would be an efficient investment to start with, while waiting on the other three. I’ve never seen or heard of anyone complaining about it from being used to do resplits. IBC tote collection is coming along pretty good. I’m getting all antsy about getting started.

      I know Joe from Ohio Wood Burner has a super split. It make a cameo every now and then, but I believe its in many earlier videos.

    Both great splitters wish the wolf ridge had a adjustable wedge with the box wedge machine.

    • @AroundTheYard-MN
      @AroundTheYard-MN  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Having used both I can appreciate the “versatility” of being able to adjust the box wedge, but I’m really not sure you need to be able to adjust it. Adjusting the wedge slows a person down considerably. I think you’re far better off doing the research on what size split works or sells the best for you, and concentrate on making hundreds of thousands of them. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family this weekend. Take care ~ Brent

    Is it possible to run the 35SHO from either side?

    • @AroundTheYard-MN
      @AroundTheYard-MN  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is. It’s a little more cumbersome on the log lift side when compared to the 37D. The frame is much shorter on the Wolfe Ridge, all in with the tongue folded on the WR overall length is about 9-10’ (new models are 8’). I can measure mine and report back.
      Where as the 37D is 10-12’ without the conveyor. And I don’t believe the hitch folds. On the 37D there is the space that the motor takes up to stand on the log lift side, because the hydraulic tank it a little farther forward.

      I can speak to the Wolfe Ridge, what would you like to know? You’d have to ask Back 40 Firewood, his experience with towing the 37D. There is a live stream on Back 40 channel every Friday night at 8pm central - it’s a good time to ask questions and others can list their experiences as well.

      I know with my SHO I have towed it 6 hours at 70mph with no problem. Sorry I don't have any experience with Eastonmade on this one..

      Thanks for the sub! I try to be fair minded. Having only run the 37D for 2 minutes it’s hard to put a real review together, but these were honest thoughts of my time with it.
