Mr. Genin. You have fallen in love with your ultra. That’s a nice splitter. I am still learning my splitter. It’s going to step up the time to split a tote by 4 or 5 times.
Once you get the operation figured out, you will be flying thru the baskets of firewood. And, your back is going to thank you. It does seem very fast. Keep your hands and thumbs on the side of the log. Enjoy the Journey - Cheers
Bob, if I’m answering twice, I’m not loosing my mind. For some reason when I make a comment, usually it shows reply in blue. I have answered a lot of comments. Like 30 something. Pretty soon you can’t remember if you replied or not. As you state. Enjoy the Journey-Cheers. Thanks so much for stopping in and commenting. When that machine is running full throttle , it is wicked fast. I’m running it at 2/3 for now. Until I feel more comfortable. Knots you need to have it slowly lower the wedge until the wedge is embedded in the wood. I believe you’re right in my age group, you can probably relate to this. Your response time is not what it was. So be careful. If you don’t mind let me know if you got two responses. Have a great day. Alf
Hi Jason, thanks for watching and commenting. I agree with your statement totally. There need to be some brain storming to get that right. Currently the ice on the wood is causing most of the problem. The ice has polished that table surface so much, that when I place a 30 inch hard maple round on the table with my skid loader. It slides so easy, you would think it was 15 or 16 inch round. Thing is I think it need to be removable. When things warm up that heavy round no longer will slide. The other thing is the maple is green and frozen inside. When the knife hits it only makes about an 1/8 dent until it pops. The smaller the pieces the worse it gets. I am no metal fabricator. So whatever is made it needs to be removable, I think. If you have seen something that would work, please share. Do you have a channel? If so let me know. Stop by again. You take care. Al
Hi Tony, thanks for stopping by and commenting. Al had his foot on the pedal. I didn’t realize you need to remove your foot completely. No problems after that. Take care Mr. Tony. We appreciate you watching. Al

Hi Todd, thanks for watching. I’m glad it was operator error. When I watch myself running the splitter on video, I look afraid of it. It is no toy. It is fast, no day dreaming like my old one. I split some 30in hard maple today. It worked great taking the skid loader, picking the round up on the forks and sliding the round right onto the table. I don’t need to tell you how heavy they are. Hi Daniel. Thanks for watching. Today I split a bunch of 28-30 inch hard maple. That stuff split great until the large knots showed up. I learned that when a big knot finally decides to give up it goes where ever it wants. Sometimes I feel there should be a guard to protect you. I know it would be in the way all the time. When wood is like that maybe throwing it on the burn pile is the way to go. We all like a challenge but don’t get hurt. Thanks Daniel. Take care. Al

Just gota keep ya thumb on the sides Allen lol . As you have figured out flush cut wood is the way to go the angled stuff will kick to the side or back at ya. You will find that every now an then when the knife hits just the right knot it will slap that piece down on the table rather fast an if ya fingers are there its gona hurt . My advice go slow for the first few cord an learn how the rounds will react then ya can crank it up . . Congrats on the new machine i think you will be very happy an also good to here about the service after the sale because thats just as important .
Yesterday Tuesday, once I learned what I was doing wrong. I wanted to split some 30 in or so hard maple. Even short distances for me , they’re to much to roll on to the lift. I ended up using the forks and they slid very nicely onto the splitter table. I have watched you bust up large wood, with all the slabs. We are in mid teens in morning,by afternoon upper 20s. The wood in still froze. Once you slab the wood, that’s the fun part. I have to admit, I had one of those pieces catch me off guard. It was like someone sucker punched you. Good thing I’m a short man, if I were 5-6 inches taller, it could have been man no more. I have many things to learn. Don’t think splitting wood is boring. There’s always someone learning something. Take care Phil. I have learned a lot from you, just watching.. By the way, when I said, this is for you Phil. I said it in no disrespect. Knowing your character you probably just laughed. That machine is scary fast and needs to be run with respect. I am still afraid of it. Take care, and thanks so much for watching and commenting. Al
Hi Larry and Robin, thanks for watching and commenting. I know my response time isn’t what it was. So you need to use your common sense. Guys thanks again for your support. God Bless. Al
Thanks Matt, for getting right back to me. Foot on pedal was the culprit. Jack seen the video and said the same thing happened to him running your 17vs. I am going to continue at the lower speed for a while. One thing I pay attention to is fuel consumption. I don’t know how accurate the reading are but the differences are Hugh. At 2800-3000 it’s about .6-.7 per hour. When you run it at 3600 plus it jumps to 1.5- 1.6 or so. I know the motor isn’t broke in yet, and you need to consider what you get done. To save a gallon of gas, say 3.00 it’s not worth it if you’re knocking out 20 percent more wood. I want so bad to fill totes loose. I can’t do that because I don’t have the totes. I don’t enjoy stacking that much, but for now I may have to. Later my Friend. Al
Thanks Chris. I didn’t realize that was the problem. I tried to make it clear that it was operator error. Matt from Lilly Farms sent me a message said I bet you’re not taking your foot off the pedal completely. Problem solved. Thank you.
I had that same issue when running Matt's at lillys farm and firewood with it not wanting to return... take you foot off completely, your not raising your foot enough for it to retract. It was retracting slow for me at first cause I was barely lifting my foot up, after I figured it out , it is a pretty quick return cycle. Really nice machine you got, you're really gonna enjoy that when ya get the hang of it 💪💪
Nice machine you go for it Now you can really give her a heck Just remember Phil what happened dumb Keep them away from there I don't want nothing happen to you Stay safe stay healthy and stay happy That will catch you another one

Hi Brian, nice of you to drop in and check the Wolfe Ridge out. It’s scary fast. I’ve been operating at 2/3 speed until I feel comfortable. Today I was running it again. I wish I could have gotten it on video. I split some really big hard maple .28 to 30 inch. I can’t handle them big rounds. I took the skid loader with forks and you can just let them big ones slide onto the table. Once they’re on the table they’ll slide easily. Thanks for watching. Hard to believe I paid more for this splitter tan I paid for a 1066 with cab and duals weights in 1976. You weren’t even born yet I believe. We will be getting you on the saw’s hopefully this week. Al
Hey Allen, just need to let completely off the pedal so it can retract. Thanks! Chris
Really nice machine you got, you're really gonna enjoy that when ya get the hang of it 💪💪
Lol, and you touch on what I just said in your voice over 😂😂😂 I write as I watch so I don't forget stuff
Thanks Jack. I am still learning the machine. I’m glad that you mentioned you had that issue. Later.Al
Congratulations, just subscribed, nice machine 👍🚜🪵🔥🇨🇦
Thank you. I need to check out how to get your home address, Here is my email. allenlehn56@gmail.com
@@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood thank you I message you
man am I jealous. that machine should treat you very well!
Nice machine you go for it Now you can really give her a heck Just remember Phil what happened dumb Keep them away from there I don't want nothing happen to you Stay safe stay healthy and stay happy That will catch you another one
hi Frank, I’m taking it slow. I am showing that machine respect. It does move fast. No day dreaming. I wasn’t operating it correctly. Ran it today and it’s working fine. Thanks for watching. Take care my friend. Al
Always enjoyable to connect with you. That farm connection is really great to have. Later my friend.Al
@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood no I wasn't born yet but it is crazy to think about that though. We had a 966 on the farm. Darn good tractors! And I'll be looking for that video. Thank you!
I believe it was in reference to my cows in one of my videos. I’ll shoot you my address for a sticker swap 👌🏻
Sounds good. I will try to get my sticker out to you, before we leave on a trip. If not I’ll get it out when we get back.
Instead of handling the rounds twice, place your totes ride behind you and grab from it. It will save time
Thanks for mentioning that. You know sometimes you can miss simple things that can save a ton of time. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
Thats a great idea. Sometimes you miss simple little things that can save a ton of time. I will give that a try. Thanks for watching and commenting.
