Now what an ineffective punishment that won’t help change the mindset or behavior of the sinful thief. To me part of the punishment has to include the thief making the victim whole. In other words, if the thief stole $900,000, then the thief will be required to repay the victim $900,000 even if this means the thief will spend the rest of his or her life as a slave or indentured servant.
