Got an M+sport from niu. Used it five days a week for work. One battery, and after 4 years and 15000 km. Still getting a range of 76 km on a full charge. Only had one puncture in all that time. Service costs are around 80/100 euro,s. Best thing I ever bought.

Got a puncture in my NQI Sport, rear. Was quoted a staggering £316 to pick up 2.5miles fix and return. We recently had a complete exhaust system fitted for £280. Once your app expires it’s -near the end of 3 years, it’s £50 to renew per year! Mine expires next July ‘24. Otherwise you lose all battery, tracking, GPS, security warnings. A rip off…

4 Years and 15,000 is nothing, it's fine if you buy new and can buy new again but it will be interesting to know the battery state after 10 years.
I wonder is the battery LiFeP04 chemistry ?
This electric scooter is good for commuters I suppose that don't intend to go further in one day and can charge at night and would be a hell of a lot safer for younger people and people in general on those horribly dangerous e-scooters, riding with traffic is a lot safer in my opinion.
I am on my 3rd electric car, first was a Nissan Leaf 2015 with around 110-140 Kms range, then a BMW i3 Rex which was incredibly useful and practical, after almost 5 years and over 90,000 miles the battery still reported 28.5 Kwh of usable capacity the same as when I got it at 9 months old and 9,500 Kms.
Now I drive a VW id3 with 82 Kwh battery or 73 Kwh usable and after 2 years and nearly 3 months and 70,000 Kms it's showing 71 Kwh but I take that with a pinch of salt because I notice no loss of range.
The Nissan Leaf was very limited and we took the diesel on longer trips, but now the id3 does most of the driving. Charging time on DC fast chargers is a bit disappointing but I won't get into that now.
One reason for me deciding to get on 2 wheels be it twist and go scooter such as Xmax or Forza 350 is that I want to be able to get out and about and experience the road and countryside a different way, and I don't want to be limited in range or recharge times. I'm not going to be doing big speeds, just to potter around in a relaxing but fun way.

Awesome! Initially I thought you were doing a gag review, lol. Alas I was wrong, this was a serious well done review with some decent points made about its viability. Cool. Now If you can get your hands on a SurRon that would be a right review I’d be very interested in seeing. Especially if you tore it up on a couple green lanes, and of course some BMX style urban parkour would be a must! Good work Rye👏

how do you start it with key? I can start my only with a remote.
    My experience:
They should allow driver to customize max speed of each mode, I would prefer to change dynamic to 32 mph. When I did my range test I got 23 miles doing 50~ (not always, heavy winds are quite problematic, any hill and I was going down from 55 mph to 45-40 mph). The quiet think, alarm and 50 mph was a sell for me, getting a quick nip to tesco to get a milk in middle of the night is quite nice ride... so much that I just look for an excuse to do that more often.

I have the older model NIU N1S Pro (the 50kmph/30mph limited one) for 3 years now with pretty much no issues over 5000km. The main thing I'd recommend is change the tyres which come as standard - the chinese tyres it's shipped with are not great, but Michelin City Grip work great on it. It would be nice to try one of the new ones to see what's changed in 3 years.

    • @oldrikky

Great review. They have a 125 equivalent e powered NIU scooter as well so I really think it's an exciting area of transport. Solar panel charging is a possibility perhaps.

I need to correct you. That 2022/2023 version with the tft screen have a more powerful motor home made by niu. Is not a bosch anymore.
But they had many time to study and learn with bosch.
Your blue batteries are made by eve. And Eve is German, not Chinese like many people say. The red batteries are Panasonic.
Your bike also have a greater top speed than the previous NQi GTS

incorrect.hub motor was never made by bosch u pay only for the logo.the latest models have also issues specialy the mqi ones after the ecu upgrade get less performance.

    Electric scooters rule.
I rode a BMW CE04 and loved it so much I had to ride its petrol powered sister to see if I was secretly a scooter guy.
The petrol one has none of the thrills.

Oh and there are companies that do batteries that double the range per battery... so could be like 150miles to a charge - but they are not official batteries and I would charge away from a house :D

I remember the range on the electric scooters I could rent in China were garbage, something like 40 km. It wasn't enough even to get out of Shanghai. They are indeed for nipping around to grab some milk or bubble tea... I live in Vietnam and drive a Honda Vario now. I only need to go to the petrol station once every couple of weeks, much less faff than having to charge the e-scooter.

I'm going to get a bike or scooter hopefully this year, I drive an electric car, a VW id3 tour 5 82 Kwh battery 73 usable but I want something more fun and not to be limited by recharge times or range as I drove much more limited range electric cars in the past and have no desire to ever experience such pain again as I nearly lost my mind, luckily I had free work charging which saved me from really loosing my mind. The id3 has much better range and I would never buy an EV with less. It's just about acceptable.
