Definitely a stunner, but why. I told myself I didn't need another watch but then you do this. 😂. Must refrain from buying. Awesome review mate and this is definitely my pick of the bunch.
Recently faced a choice between this watch and a blue dial version of the Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer (small seconds). It was a difficult decision but I eventually went with the Pilot Pioneer. it's the smallest watch I own. The rest are all between 40 and 44 mm. None has ever seemed large to me but after acquiring the 38 mm Pilot Pioneer several others look like I'm wearing a wall clock on my wrist. No doubt it's the luck of the draw but I've been very impressed by the watches' accuracy at +/ - 0-2 seconds a day. Beautiful design combined with excellent performance. Couldn't ask for much more.
Your videos are really a whole separate art form. The energy, humour, high speed editing cuts. Lots of fun. I have a couple of Hamiltons and they are pretty awesome
Really like the look of these Hamiltons! They totally nailed the look and the retro military vibes but that bezel seems like a bit of a strange choice. Fantastic show as always MWC 👏👏👏👏
Now this is an awesome looking watch ,didnt believe in love at first sight but it's true im head over heels, gotta get one now , so i think ill start planning now...lol
My AD just got the hand winding bronze 43mm. It’s incredible. I’ve gone back three times to put it on and if it’s still available after my honeymoon I’m buying it.
What a killer watch. They nailed it with the simplicity of the dial. The color on the indicies along with the cathedral hands is so spot on. I'm not an aviator and can barely pilot myself through life so that 50 click bezel is nowhere near a deal killer so all in all I love it. I'll need the bigger version with the small seconds though.
Really like this one, being 100m water resist is perfect, unlike other military watches from Hamilton but comes at a price. Lucky boy getting the thumbs up from the wife to buy this one.
I bought this stunner watch a couples of weeks ago and my one hast a 60 click bezel. I think they fixed this. A absolutely great Vintage watch Greetings from Germany!
This hammy is awesome. Love the videos my friend. Reminds me of the good ol days watching Nickelodeon. It’s funny because I’m still a kid I just have more complex toys 🤣
Great review! Just lead me to pull the trigger on one of these! Turns out in my new production model the bezel is a 60 click bezel now, great surprise. Question for you: do you find a tiny amount of vertical play in the bezel? Not when turning, but if I press it down I feel a tiny bit of play, does that sound normal on these?
Great video Russell! I’m a big fan of Hamilton. My biggest watch regret was selling a Korean War era - military issued Hamilton field watch a few years back. I almost never wore it because it was tiny, but damn I wish I’d kept it!
Love it, but like you say should've done a 40mm. 38 just too small for me, sold my Alpinist for that reason. Excellent entertainment and education, Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
I like that a lot I just last week got the Hamilton khaki mechanical in black pvd I’m wearing it now I lovve this thing and for Christmas I got the Bulova hack with the ivory face. Bulova has some kind of veterans watchmaker initiative where they teach disabled veterans to be watchmakers (VMI) and the Bulova is made by them !
That is a lovely looking watch that Hamilton have made there! Not usually drawn to pilots watches but they've done a great job. 👌 Top show as always MWC! 👏
What a beauty! I love it! I already have a Hammy Khaki Navy GMT that I use as my pilots watch when I’m flying but maybe it’s time to change!!! I’m still laughing at the fact that Mr Pagani’s afraid of clouds! 🤪
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR ye, I look forward to the new CWC review, funny enough Iost my CWC quartz about two months ago and only found it again yesterday.
Beautiful. Hamilton has grown within my collection. 4 and counting. This is one of three that I intend to add to my collection soon…My only wish?! My only wish is that they would give us usable lume…A little AR coding would be nice as well!!! Thanks for the great review of a beautiful watch!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR no problem. They say it's 80 hr on the H-40 movement, however on a full wind Friday night it will still be ticking until midday Tuesday
Stumbled on this Hamilton review (looking to add to my already 2 Hamilton collection - Murph & Capitain America) ... but, even close to a year later, I must say that the bezel on that beauty is a turn off ... regardless of what the wife said 😉 Thanks for the show! Oh, and ... it seems just yesterday you hit the 30K Subs mark ... already hitting 33K!!! What a show!!! Keep 'em coming my friend!
I was set on buying the Sinn 104 next year for my graduation (as my everyday/only watch) and this Hamilton sounded like a great challenger! Alas, the 50 click bezel is an unfortunate dealbreaker. Furthermore, since the Sinn retails for around 1000 euro in my country, I find its value proposition more intriguing. However, that Hamilton's dial is a stunner! Great video!
8:34 The new font they use on the buckle screams "SWATCH!" to me and (together with the 50 🤷♀️ click bezel) it clearly destroys the vintage vibe they're trying so hard to create. Btw: the H10 is a nicely modified 2824-2, but how do you think they could have put a small second on this? Also thanks for mentioning the Sinn 104. Atm there is a €250,- difference in price here in germany as the Sinn just won't loose it's value, but i'd happily spend that extra for a real toolwatch. Just my two cents.
The logo is on the rotor to my friend. I think it’s a good marriage between old and new . Yes change the movement so it’s a manual wind . Then get the small seconds
first off, i love the look of this watch. does anyone else think it bears a rather strong resemblance to a seiko alpinist, with a bezel? (another watch i absolutely love)
Hello, I like it. Altrought I'm reading a comic book about Swiss air dogfight against german Luftwaffe, witch is not very known. And I want a pilot watch now !
Just discovered your channel. Love the content! It's like Beakman's World but for watches. I'm torn between this watch and the Pilot Pioneer Mechanical. Keep up the good work!
Love it! Perfect watch for me that is. I'm more of a military watch than the diver. I like the strap too. The timepiece and sextant method was used to determine location before the days of GPS or inertial navigation systems before that. Most bombers had a sky dome (in addition to gun turrets) so they could plot their position with the aid of the stars 👍
8:06 @THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Firstly, I wish I could have beers with you for like 25 hrs a day 😅. Secondly, I think the bezel is (12x4=)48 clicks and the reason for that is that some of the funkiest places on Earth, such as Kabul and Adelaide are .5 hrs (and not a full 1.0) mark off. So, you can only reference the .5 time zones if you have a (48 click bezel. And the way to use the bezel is to view it as your 12 hr ‘secondary’ dial by offsetting the 12-hour triangle by however many hours (+ halves 😊) the tome zone requires. This is how I would use it at least. But ure more experienced with watches so Id love to hear if you think that makes sense! And hope this helps the watch finally enter the WBF!!! 🫡
Great watch, but how did a 50-click bezel even happen? Is there some other place where such a mechanism would be applicable? I suppose a 48-click would be good on a 24hr GMT bezel for maximum flexibility. But not 50. I'm genuinely perplexed.
Cheers Jason! Yeah bit disappointing ay but I remember the Oris’s I reviewed weren’t great either! If the likes of a San Martin van glow like radiation why can’t these!!!
Excellent review. Beautiful dial..strangely the dial reminded me of the inside of the big coal shed my dad had for our holiday cottage when we were kids! Anyway in 2021 I bought eight watches so I won't buy this! Could be tempted but for the lume and bezel.Thoughts on bezels. If you're going to put a bezel on it, at least make it a good one. I don't think it's worth the money. The movement and dial are nice but the rest is a disappointment in my humble opinion. And we need a Time Tardis score! Lol. Otherwise, we'll just spoon it!!🤣
I've been looking at it on line for awhile now and I just saw it at a store on Friday. It's a knock out for sure. Obviously it's a personal thing, but it perfect for me. I'd need a deal on it if i went for it and now they are full retail and hard to get. I simply love it! It's knock out! Bloody Hell... i must have one...
I swear, Hamilton (Swatch Group) has some of the best designs and quality you can get for your buck. I only own three Hams, but only because I have to set a limit of watch ownership, or I’d be living in a house made of watches haha
What a beautiful stunner ! 🤩😎 Can’t hardly look better than this one... or maybe an actual vintage watch. 😉 Good reliable movement. 👍 But what is it with this bezel: they just ruin the whole thing. 😳😫
I feel they should have left the small seconds like the 43mm one they have, they also should have made a bronze model too, like they have for the 43mm.
I am no watch snob either. I have every level in my collection, from Rolex all the way down to Pagani Design. What I appreciate is not price, but quality and the two don't always correlate. I have two Hamiltons in my collection, which are among my favorite watches. But the deal breaker here is the 50 click dial. That's just stupid on a watch at ANY price point. It tells me that the design team for this watch were just not paying attention. I would not accept this kind of mistake on any watch, from the ones I had to put on a credit card to buy over two years, to the ones I could pick up on Amazon for pocket change. Otherwise, this is a beautiful watch. If Hamilton decide to go back in and fix the issue, I may even buy it one day. 50 clicks, Hammy? Really? VERY simple math tells us all why that renders the bezel useless. It would have been better if you just made this with a fixed bezel.
It is my understanding that the bezel has since been changed to 48, so anyone who bought it as a 50 can return to get it sorted. Thanks for watching my friend!
Slap me around the face with a kipper.......Did your wife say she likes the watch and wouldn't mind if you brought one! That's going to take me 6 months to recover from the shock 😆 🤣 😂
It’s a new watch my friend , that Auto is what 10/15 years old at least ? Bumping the price of that Auto would not go down well considering the price it’s been for so long.
It doesn’t float my boat which is surprising for me because I usually love vintage military watches, probably the fake patina lume is what spoils it for me as they weren’t that colour from new. Great review as always though ⛄️

🤣🤣🤣yeah I was taken back too, not sure she meant it!?!?!
Why is it double the price of the similarly specced Khaki Automatic ?
It’s a new watch my friend , that Auto is what 10/15 years old at least ? Bumping the price of that Auto would not go down well considering the price it’s been for so long.
Blessings from THE WIFE? unheard of! 😁
I know! I’ve just about recovered! 🤣
I'm still waiting on my wife giving me the OK to buy a watch. How does it feel to hear those words from your wife?
A little uneasy… she wants something 🤣🤣🤣
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR 🤣🤣
It doesn’t float my boat which is surprising for me because I usually love vintage military watches, probably the fake patina lume is what spoils it for me as they weren’t that colour from new.
Great review as always though ⛄️
Cheers for watching Paul!
It’s a pity Hamilton can’t AR the khaki field series.
Yes! But when you e got a crisp clear white on black monochromatic dial do you need it?
fudge i just bought one on impulse jeez
Take away the Bezel and it's the "New Murph"
