Yeap. I have a modded 4Runner and they are expensive but worth it since Toyota trucks are infamously durable and reliable. You pay up front but save tons of money on repairs or other failures. The gas mileage aren’t great but that’s a sacrifice I make to have the peace of mind knowing I will have this vehicle for a long long long time. The gas mileage is literally the only complaint I have about the 4Runner and the Tacoma and tundra. Everything else is perfect for me. I love the simplicity and basic features that is straight to the point. I love the big buttons and I don’t care about a fancy infotainment system and a big screen with a million different options and features. I love the manuel trunk and I love the key entry to start the engine. I will be buying Toyota trucks for the rest of my life. Can’t wait for the new redesigns for the tundra and 4Runner coming in a few years

I just traded in my 2007 Toyota Tacoma with 251,800 miles on it and still got $15k for trade in value towards my used 2012 Toyota Tundra Rockwarrior! 😂 the trade in value is all worth it in the long run. 👍🏽

First, you crack me up. Second, as others have mentioned the Tundra is bulletproof. My neighbor has 280,000 miles. He follows the suggested service and has needed nothing beyond tires and ONE battery. I bought a 2019 TRD off-road package 4x4. I had an ARB locking rear diff put in to solve that rear LSD B.S. and I LOVE IT!

I have to agree with the cost of new trucks nowadays vs. long term ownership. Most people aren't keeping their vehicles for more than 5 years (or whenever the bumper to bumper warranty ends). Fully loaded crew cabs at almost $70,000? That's disgusting. Wish my paychecks would keep up with that type of inflation. I'd be retired right now.

nobody actually pays anywhere near MSRP for a truck. I bought a 19 Ram Limited 67.5k MSRP for 50k during their big factory sale. These tundras are such a rip off charging this much for a 12 year old design.

Toyota is one brand, in particular, you can feel confident keeping, whether it's a car or truck, a lot longer than the warranty period (my '01 4Runner has been amazingly trouble-free for 18 years, now).

The jump at 2:36... without banging your head? impresive motor skills.
The tires: if it had offroad tires the breaking on road would not have been as impresive. As for the engine: i would prefer this V8 over the V6 turbo of the Raptor (fast enough and i like the sound better). Here in Europe LandCruisers are sold with Diesel Engines -> Toyota would have an engine they could use.

What they should do Sarah is restore your MR2 SW20 and then put you on as a adviser with a development on a new version MR2,
•keep the body styling of the second one and build and improve on there
    •It must be mid engine
•manuel transmission ( no steering wheel flap buttons )
•Be able to do 200hp out of the factory with option to custom the engine with aftermarket parts

This is why car companies put restrictions on how Press organizations can utilize vehicles in Press fleets. This is the TRD SPORT trim for on road handling, not the TRD OFF-ROAD trim for going off-road. Not that it can't do it, but it's not designed for that purpose.

I paid 35,000 for my 2018 Tundra SR5 4x4 in Inferno red. I love it. It's my second Tundra. The first one I bought a base model SR 4.6 v8 4x4. So I upgraded. My Dad has a 2016 TRD Pro Tundra. We both really like our trucks ALOT! With some suspension upgrades a SR5 can be a Raptor eater especially if you add a Magnuson Supercharger...You need to find a Supercharged Tundra to review now, and or one with long travel suspension. You would certainly enjoy it!!

Prices on these new trucks and cars are beyond ridiculous. Love a big comfortable offroad capable 4x4. So, I bought a 32 year old, 87 3/4 ton Diesel Suburban 4x4. It doesn't have one computer, goes anywhere and gets 22 MPG on the highway. I have to get out to lock my hubs, (oh the inconvenience, LOL.) I lifted it, replaced almost everything that can wear out, new trans, engine etc. everything and I don't have 25K in it. Its a great cruiser, tons of room and its really built well. No way I would pay what the current market wants. Too bad, the Toyota is a nice looking truck. Great review.

You're spot on about car prices these days. It's absurd how expensive they've become. However, I don't personally care to buy cars when they're brand new, even if I could afford one. It'd be too anxiety inducing for me. I prefer cars when they're at least a few years old. By that point, the price is lower and the bugs are usually worked out anyway.

You're dead on with those tires. They're decent rubber, but it's a touring tire, wrong application for both offroady and sporty.
A lot of people might disagree, but if you want reliable and long term, you don't want a modern diesel, at least not with the factory emissions systems still on it. A TVS1900 would fill that V very nicely though.

Everyone complains that no one makes a simpler truck anymore. Toyota does.. and people complain it's not as high tech as an 80K fully loaded Ford, GMC, or RAM. It's simpler, more reliable, longer lasting, and has higher resale. Yet, people complain.

You are so right on the price! I think manufacturers have priced themselves out of a market.

Legitimately I haven't seen anyone put a Sport thorugh any kind of non pavement test so Kudos! There is an embargo on Toyota - They are not allowed to bring a diesel into the US which is a JOKE. I love my 5.7L Land Cruiser and may go to a Tundra Sport as the Leases are insanely cheap but its sad we can't get their best engine. Think about that. These 5.7L models last 500k-1M Miles and its not their flagship engine

Of course it's not beating you up, the engine doesn't go deep and there's just a little hump in the backseat.
This was so fun to watch, probably more fun to make, but thanks for taking us along for the ride!

I personally would by the raptor, because you can always modify to make it better in your way. I like the look of them.
