Your ability to memorize all the specs and deliver them flawlessly without benefit of aids is highly impressive! “Lexusing!” 😂 Congratulations again on 500k! Thank you. 👍👍👍
It takes me 4 or 5 attempts to say all of that in one shot. Numbers are easy to remember, not fucking up words like “the” “it” or “does” gets me every time.
Your audience is very much ntuned with everyone's fav color coordinated Sarah. Half a million customers can't be wrong! Music, camera angles and editing have been extra 🔥 lately.
"Half a million customers can't be wrong..." Not throwing shade on Sarah, but 81 million people allegedly voted for Joe Biden. I think we can all agree they were wrong😉
I get 16.8 average mpg in my half/half highway driving in a conventional 2007 Tahoe with a 5.3. I'm not sure I understand the draw or purpose of hybridizing if it doesn't do wildly better.
I've stumbled on your videos a few times, you do great work. Something I'd like to see you do, is consider consolidating your scores on the vehicles you review - keep them in a live document with links to your videos. Of course other reviewers do this (doug for example) but its a powerful tool for people that are actually shopping around for a vehicle. It could also prove to be a valuable interaction/value add to your channel with remarkably little effort since you're already writing the script - adding values to a living spreadsheet would take mere seconds.
Great review Sarah. In New Zealand, these utility vehicles are commonly called 'Urban Tractors' The only off road duty they will ever see will be driving across a lawn. Their main purpose in life will be to deliver children to school and pose at mountain bike parks.
Same here in the USA. The Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, and the Capstone trim levels of the Tundra will never experience any serious off road use. A Tundra TRD Pro or modified SR is a different story though.
Interesting review. As you were going through I was comparing my 2004 Chev Avalanche. V8 Obviously the $80,000 tundra had the upper hand on everything until fuel milage. Recently I got 19.5 highway and it usually hits about 16 stop and go. I must say I paid 11K for it 5 years ago and .. I must say.. I keep my vehicles like you do .. so it's a gem. It's hard to justify $80,000 for pick up. So I think your score is just a bit high if your looking for a truck to be a truck.. this was so nice I think i would not be able to use it. Great review. Ps always good to color coordinate.
Another great review, Sarah. You combine humor (goat shave) with technical details that make them worth watching. I also really like your off-road test track. Especially the gravel pit. I'd like to see you get a Corolla GR to review. I've seen all the others, but want to see yours.
The new King of the GawdAwful.. Toyota looked at GM’s trucks and said Hold My Beer! Must be parked facing a wall! Once you see the FuManchu mustache..you can’t unsee it. Maybe that mustache will make a come back?
Sarah I love the way you pronounce aluminium the way we say it in the U.K. here’s a few more. A hood is a bonnet a trunk is a boot, rotors are discs and jelly is actually jam..😂
I think you might be the only channel that mentioned the fuel injector configuration....which was info I was looking for...thanks! I much prefer this arrangement for preventing gunk in the intake.
I absolutely LOVE all of your videos! I don't have any visual impairment, but I was noticing you haven't always been saying your scores out loud anymore. Please consider mentioning the scores out loud again, so your "viewers" with visual impairment will have access to all the information us sighted folks have. Just a suggestion - not criticism.
My future son in law has one of these, gets 23mpg in town if he can bring himself to stay out of the accelerator. It is pretty stinking fast so it's not easy to drive slow.
I remember when i saw a capstone for the first time. I just bought a 21 F350 KR Godzilla. The salesman was trying really hard to sell the capstone marked up to 94,000 bucks. 20k more than my king ranch!
Sarah, the high end trucks tend to have low profile tires. Not really confident in going off road on those Bridgestones. Also, worry about hitting potholes on those things.
I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. It’s more Lexus SUV then an American Truck. Should have a V8 option, tow hooks, bed access steps, and more skid plates. Do like the compost bed though. Nice review sister.
Happy Humpday Sarah!!! DOOT, DOOO, DOOO!!! You get 5 penguins from all of us internet peoples, every time!!!😁 Maybe we'll see you at the Duct Tape Drags this weekend. Stay excellent!!!😎
I like the way you test vehicles on the same coarse. As a Ranger owner would like to see a test off your old Ranger on the same coarse but up to you don't want to see it scratched up it's way to nice
Don't know why no car company has hired you as a spokesperson, you knowledge is most impressive and your wickedly witty and sometimes funny, jokes you rock.Godbless girl
Beast Hill my heart. Massive torque. This thing tiptoed up that berm like a linebacker wearing moccasins. Should have pushed it a bit more though. Looking fab, Sarah! Dat hybrid sammich, doe!
Congrats on 500k! Great summary of the Tundra. Your impression of the performance of this 3.4+hybrid drive train bodes well for people interested in the LX and GX Lexus SUVs cuz I am 100% confident the same drive train will be the default for those when they get migrated to TNG. The key question is whether it will also be a choice in a redesigned 4Runner or if it will be given a slightly smaller combination to keep some separation across products.
poor 4runner, if they dropped the tundra down to a v6 the new 4runner gonna be a turbo inline 4 rav 4 is probably gonna end up with a 998cc xD "efficiency"
@@freemaysin5088 Oh, you're right... It's guaranteed the entry level SR5 4Runner will be a turbo 4cyl inline. I'm just one of many future 4Runner buyers who would be interested in a hybrid option with better mileage without stretching a smaller 4cyl to the outer edges.
Sarah, what are your thoughts about the long term reliability of a relatively small displacement, very complex engine that creates lots of power because it’s bionic?
Great review, did they ever get back to you on getting you an SR5 model to review? It would be interesting for you to compare the high end trim models vs the lower end.
I preferred the old scoring reveal, with a whiteboard and marker. The tech way feels impersonal, and a bit corporate. I can't believe a vehicle like this has any rational excuse for its existence, but I really enjoy watching you taking it places it didn't expect to go.
Awesome review. Maybe you can get your hands on an sr5 trd off road for a review. That would be much appreciated! All I can find for reviews that are in depth is hybrids and higher trims.
I drive a 2020 F250 super duty diesel, crew, cab, 4 x 4 and I can get 21 miles per gallon on the highway that’s driving 75 mph with my air condition full blast not too bad for a big truck
That hesitation on start-off is one of the things that makes me think I don't want a turbocharged Tundra, as much as I like the 2022 suspension, cameras, and transmission. I drove a 2020 Toyota RAV4 for a week, and when I put the pedal down from a stand-still one time it took what felt like almost a full 2 seconds to give me any power. Literally pedal to the floor with no immediate response. It was some sort of fluke, and didn't usually take quite that long, but IMO a vehicle's power should be instantaneous. A pause like that could be dangerous.
It was likely torque management software protecting the transmission, nothing to do with the engine being turbocharged (aside from the added low-end torque).
Awesome 500,000 subs. EXCELLENT! One thing NO way would I pay 75 K for ANY vehicle now// Are they nuts? Price is skyhigh and most people can not afford pay that much for a pickem up truk
Hey Sarah, I like your SR idea the best but if I had the money I wouldn’t get the Capstone I get to 1794 with the Trd off-road get rid of the chrome and put the Trd pro grill with the light bar of course. P.S. I hope you glued your pointer on good and tight I’m more nervous about that then I am with the Breaking test 🙂🐧🐧🐧👍
Thank you for your version of a car (truck) review. Good trust in Toyota's 4x4 to get out of the gravel, you were not wearing the right shoes to take that hike. Why does the Tundra have so little ground clearance? Odd for a truck. This being the top of the top of the line edition I doubt many of them will see a gravel road (unless farmers). You are in no means basic, but we know what you mean. Buy no frills, make it your own. SR 4x4: 40K, Capstone: 75K. That's a lot of Ks for customizing.
Liked this review, this is a nice truck I guess for someone who really wants to be comfortable doing all this truck can get out and do. Not sure I would spend that kind of money on a truck, but I like it.
