Have this machine also and love it. Maintenance is so much easier than my old style set. A standard dryer you have to clean the lint filter every time and so this is not any extra work (except for the extra foam filter but that rinses out so fast and you don’t have to do it as often, I don’t vacuum it I just fold it in half and sort of scrape my fingers along it to pull off any fine lint and dog hair under running water). For us the huge benefit is never ever needing to clean out our 2 story high vertical dryer vent pipe. This is the first appliance where I’ve felt the future has actually arrived!
Every time I take the laundry out I pull the lint tray half way out, it lets all the moisture out so I don’t have the wet lint like you were trying to clean out. Especially after the last load at night, it thoroughly dries and makes any cleaning easier.
We purchased ours last July ‘23 when they first came out. I absolutely love mine. I wash my filter, the left side, I take it to the kitchen sink and scrub it allover with a super soft toothbrush and dawn. The left side of the filter gets almost like a film covering it and I like to scrub that all off.
Awesome video! Love the tip on vacuuming the black filter before washing it. great idea. One more thing to pay attention to... Make sure you wash the white mesh filter under running water with a soft bristle brush at the same time you are washing the black filter. It will remove any wash additive buildup that may be blocking airflow.
Great video! I recently noticed a massive build up of lint deep in the back of my 2 in 1 and on the coils. Of course I went into a panic about how to address this issue and potential cost😰 I just ordered the hose and will follow these steps. This machine is a game changer for me and I can’t wait to get it in top shape again🙌🏽
Remove the entire filter and allow machine to dry out a bit, this makes cleaning SO much easier. If you have pets make sure to enable pet mode in your settings, this will help remove pet hair from laundry BEFORE the wash cycle. Insure to be careful with blue condenser on the right! Leave the machine door open between cycles allows it to completely dry out and makes cleaning the rubber seal easier. KEEP YOUR MACHINE UP TO DATE! there are always new cycles being added ❤️
Great video! We love this machine and I want to make sure it lasts. I was already doing a couple of things but I learned a few new things as well. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Very nice video covered maintenance extremely well to keep it healthy. Easy to forget that water pump filter if you don’t pay attention!. I purchased some washing machine cleaner tablets to use in the machine. Put one tablet and used the self cleaning setting, actually worked well to give it a refresh smell and look inside on the blue microban on the front. Have used our’s since June 2024 from a Memorial Day Home Depot Special for a Lake Cabin with limited space and has been very good putting it through it’s paces. We purchased the riser as well so we didn’t have to bend over as much. Best to you and using of the GE Ultrafast Wash/Dryer Combo!
Yep. I am getting ready to do the 2 to 3-hour chore of taking apart the GE combo to clean the heatpump coils past the lint trap. If I had known about this flaw, I would not have purchased this device.
I have basically given up on even putting my shop vac away. Thank you for linking to that attachment. I wrapped a length of fuel line to my shop vac hose for that purpose, it works but that tool should be better. I am going to have to take mine apart like the GE man already did. We clean it every few days and it just won't stop clogging up. We have cleaned the filter and everything as instructed for about 10 months now but I am afraid something is really wrong with my unit. It's taking forever to dry clothes now. Also the chrome bezel on the front has been leaking too. I just have an issue with paying 2500 dollars for an appliance so I can end up playing technician after 8 months of use.
After you clean the lint filter area and have loosened the lint to the left, run a "pet hair" or dry only cycle for a few minutes to catch the loosened lint. Then brush that off the filter
Great video... but may I make a recommendation... Keep a small vacuum like yours in the laundry room always (if possible) so that every single time you do a load and it's time to clean the lint screen... vacuum the lint screen and use that tool to get inside the lint housing...every time.( or at least every few loads)...so it doesn't build up over time... I think it would just be easier... I don't have this machine but I keep a small bagged vacuum in my laundry room and I vacuum the lint screen...I have the vacuum with an attachment on as I pull out the lint screen to catch dust as the lint screen gets pulled out... then I vacuum the screen... I also use a tool similar to get down inside the dryer.. I do this after I've done about 3 loads...I can go over a year before I have to change the bag in the vacuum
Searched this video because I have the same washer dryer, clicked on this video because I have the same vacuum, and to my surprise we also have the same ceiling fan😂
Yea, I bought this unit also. 1 dog and 3 cats == a lot of cleaning of the GE wash/dryer filters and coils. The coils on the right get really dirty. Dirt passes by the dual filter when the foam filter fills up. I would not purchase this unit again. GE tech support was really no help.
Same, I'm pretty upset at the price I paid to have to constantly clean this thing - even disassemble it just to get it to work. It's pretty ridiculous.
Any tips on how to level the machine? Even with it level according to a level on top multiple ways, the unit still shakes when starting a load. I have a similar setup as you, pedestal and pushed into a somewhat tight spot. I’m wondering if my floor is not strong enough right under the legs and no matter how level it says it is, it will still shake because of the floor. How do you level the leg in the back corner? I feel like appliances should have self leveling legs or easier ways to adjust the back legs from the front of the machine so it can be leveled in place.
I had this problem, I made it better but it didn't completely go away. The initial problem is that they are engineered to flex some as opposed to shake. I leveled mine to a T probably 6 times before the repair man had to come show me how to disassemble the unit to get the lint out of the drain tube and let me know the brackets on the back that the delivery people were supposed to take off - needed to be removed so it could flex instead of walk. It helped but still shakes some.
The removable lint trap is easy to clean and has to be done every wash ,the inside requires more work because of its very poor design . The drain pump strainer is easy to clean IF YOU CATCH IT IN TIME ,clogged it stops the machine BUT the red warning light only came on once and you will deal with a lot of drain water that you have to empty .........so yes this thing needs owner maintenance on a regular basis much more frequent than older models
I have the exact issue now with my Unit and they first sent fast appliance repair team to fix. He comes and says the Heat pump is bad and ordered the part and waited for 2 weeks. Then he calls for another person to help him saying its a 2 person job. On the next visit the second guys uses flashlight and find that there is a lot of lint build up which as a customer there is no way to fully clean. And i use to clean it before every use. So they said fast appliance repair team is not trained on this unit to do the repairs and I need to contact GE to get a GE tech to repair. So waiting again. What i don't understand is how is a customer suppose to clean this unit effectively when its a design fault and crappy product to begin with. I don't GE taking the ownership of this issue and trying to help the customers who jumped on this product. So my verdict, DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT IF YOU WANT PEACE OF MIND.
The worst junk ever made,,who ever designed these things should be fired, took my junk one back after 2 months of nothing but problems,,,don’t buy this thing,,,,junk

Great tip! I will try that 😊

How were you able to remove the lint? I bought an attachment for my Dyson but unfortunately it did not work
We are getting ours delivered very soon and this video was very helpful in showing me how to properly maintain the machine. Thanks!

@@BrujahLoca Wonderful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! I was unable to find much when we got ours, so thought I would help others that needed it. 😊
Good luck…I actually regret my purchase
@@teresadunbar7 What do you dislike about it? I haven’t had any issues yet, thankfully.
The way you shove the wire brush in and out, it won't be long before you damage the coils, take it easy!
Great video! We love this machine and I want to make sure it lasts. I was already doing a couple of things but I learned a few new things as well. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Well done…have had the machine since March 11…almost 200 loads already…
Very awesome video good sir! Thank you for sharing this information
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the info on the filter cleaning kit. im ordering it asap to clean my unit
Glad I could help
Geez.. why couldn't GE design a full proof lent trap..!?! Or at least make it fully accessible for manually cleaning.. That's some ridiculousness.
Yep. I am getting ready to do the 2 to 3-hour chore of taking apart the GE combo to clean the heatpump coils past the lint trap. If I had known about this flaw, I would not have purchased this device.
Neither would I. So annoying
Great maintenance video!
Very good information 😮!!! Thank you for sharing this video 🎉
Thanks for this video! I needed to figure out how to clean more than just the lint filter but the inside of it!
Very helpful. thanks

It's under warranty still then... so you shouldn't have to pay

I do all of that but when im done i add some VIPER coil cleaner to the coils it also degreases it leaves it super clean.
Thanks for vídeo..😁👏👍
Thank you for the video, I am having lint issues, gonna order that blue hose attachment. ❤
Searched this video because I have the same washer dryer, clicked on this video because I have the same vacuum, and to my surprise we also have the same ceiling fan😂
I purchased an off market kit to modify the lint basket so you don't have the lint build up in the machine
can you link the kit you bought?
Where is it from thanks?
Thank you
I had no idea the part on the bottom was there.

I do appliance repair I love these machines I can bill people so much money to fix them and they’re always broken
😂 look how much work you have to do to keep your laundry machine up lol and it has a window unit for a dryer. It’s like 1200 bucks my cost plus labor.
Time for a new vacuum cleaner . . . . Motor is going out.

Self-clean washer/dryer but still have to manually clean every 30 days….🤔🤔🤔🤔
