We've had ours since early summer and have well over 200 loads. I got a long soft brush for cleaning vents from the Home Depot I use for the inside of the lint filter slot and it gently cleans the lint off the condenser fins. I also got a long crevice tool for my 1-gal shop vac that can get all the way to the back of the lint filter slot. I use a baking sheet pan to collect the water from the lower filter. When we move into our new house in several months, I will get the riser to make it easier. We really like this unit. It's worked without issues. We got it for the energy efficiency (25% of a conventional washer/dryer) and that it doesn't require venting.
I have used a Swiffer to reach the back last weekend, because I had one “collecting dust” and it worked well. Great idea on the cookie sheet! Thank you for sharing your experiences!
@@thehometownhomestead Great idea on the Swiffer. I'll try that next. I also got a replacement lint filter from GE just in case. It wasn't too expensive from the GE parts web site. It's the fine mesh frame and the foam filter. You just have to swap the handle (one screw).
All washers dryer have maintenance ppl are just lazy. Use a shop vac to suck out water when cleaning filter and use shop vac to get water out when unscrewing filter slowly
Love my GE COMBO. The best combo ventless washer dryer we have owned. Clean lint filter after each load and foam filter after 5 loads. I do a self clean after 30 loads. We usually do two loads a day and this machine is a time saver.
Thank you for this super informative video. It helped convince us to buy the machine. I would never had known about the importance of cleaning out that pump trap at the bottom of the machine if it hadn't been for you. The manual underplays its importance. I'm doing my first load as I write and after watching a negative review from AuthenTech (which even references you!!), I am hoping for the best. We only found positive videos before purchasing. To everyone saying it's a pain in the neck to clean out the lint traps, I say, "if you think cleaning out the traps is alot, you should try cleaning out the vent hose and vent opening on the outside of your house!" Most people never think about that, but it is important to the performance of your dryer and safety of your home!
Hey thanks for the info about the other review talking about me! I plan to do a 6 month review soon. Every machine has maintenance, and other machines require lint trap cleaning each time, so I don’t think this is much in the way of total maintenance at all. Hope you enjoy your machine!
Thank you foe doing this maintenance video. I have done over 50 loads with this machine, and there are things that I like about it and many things I do not. The likes are obvious. The maintenance on this machine isnt just cleaning the lint filter as on a regular dryer. It is much more. (See next comment.) 4. The lint issue will most definitely be a fatal flaw of this machine if GE does not address the cheap filter drawer and the fact that ANY lint that escapes to the other side of the machine and collects in the delicate coils will cause damage to the machine. Using a bottle brush can damage the delicate fins on the unit. A more delicate bristle is needed to avoid this type of, what I would imagine would be, warranty-canceling damage. The swiffer is a good idea but doesn't address fuzz in the fins. GE needs an immediate redesign on this drawer to avoid heat pump damage. Lint built up on these coils can and will increase drying time and cause permanent damage. Then the lint build up on thr gasket around the door and on the door is ridiculous. There is also a fine layer of dust on the top of the dryer as it operates. I dust it off between each load. So to believe there isn't dust residue in the air is not accurate. 5. When removing clothes at the end of the cycle, invariably every time, water drips from the top of the gasket down onto the clothes. It is infuriating that this happens. I have a rag to try and catch the dripping, which is ridiculous on an expensive machine like this. 6. So, unlike all the other users, I have experienced the above frustrating things using this machine. GE has a long way to go to get my praises on this machine and its design. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing them. Thank you.
@thehometownhomestead I have. I want to love this machine, but it seems even more time-consuming and less efficient than my old washer dryer set. And, I don't put as many clothes into this huge drum as I would in my top load. So, I'm not sure where the efficiency of my time and the use of electricity is. Again, I want to love it. It just seems there are a lot of issues to be addressed. And I agree with someone else who asked if this unit will last as long as the conventional units. This guy had his 3 months, and it stopped working. He has been waiting for 3.5 weeks for a service person to look at it. Not good.
Thanks for the update the machine. We just got our machine 1 week ago. We found it very easy to use. We appreciate your video showing where and how to clean and remove the excess water. Thank you for extra tips. W also appreciate the cleaning of the lint screens. I didn't know the black lint screen could be removed and washed. We will get a bottle brush, today. So far, we are loving this machine. It's nice not having a lint vent. We will be tossing the lint vent today on our trip to the dump. Thank you again.
Just ordered the Combo unit yesterday based on numerous reviews. I appreciate you demonstrating how to maintain the unit to avoid issues down the road. Great video!
We purchased this 2 in 1 machine and we love it. Thank you for the demonstration on how to maintenance the machine. It was really easy after following your directions. 😊
You do a wonderful real world experience sharing this new machine, we are in our 4th quarter of life and i have repaired the old Sears unit several times. I think this will be our next system, my Wife agreed with you on all the good features, etc. Great Channel, You deserve a lot more subscribers, Dennis & Margaret
I bought one of these when they came out last June 2023 and LOVE IT. GE really did a great job, in so many ways. However......I am guessing most owners won't do the maintenance you perform in this video, the machine will fail and they'll blame GE. A couple weeks ago, I cleaned the pump filter (the little door at the bottom, in the beginning of this video) for the first time, and only because my clothes where sopping wet ! PRO TIP : clean that filter regularly!!!! Mine was 99% clogged and totally insane.... About 1/2 a gallon of water was backed up and came pouring out when I removed the filter.... (ha no wonder the clothes where not drying). I'd like to see GE add a reminder to clean this filter monthly or so on the LCD screen just like they remind you to clean the lint filter. Ha ha I added a monthly reminder in my phone. I'm on the original firmware so maybe they already added it? Overall a genius laundry machine and I'm betting will become the norm within a few years. If GE is reading this I have some ideas for improving the air filtration to make it bullet proof....that is really the only weak point since it takes a bit of work from the user to keep this thing humming like a top. Totally worth it, can't imagine every going back to a typical washer/dryer and putting up with moving clothes between machines and having a hole in my wall for the dryer vent...not to mention all the electricity to dry clothes with a heating coil. LAME ! GO GE ! They have made the Instant Pot for laundry !
We just got this a week ago and it opened up our small laundry room up really well! It seems that the longer wait for it to wash and dry would be a problem but it has not since everything is automatic with the smart detergent dispenser. Usually with our separate washer and dryer, we would often forget about it and it would take longer overall. I enjoy the app with the timer and other functions. The only downside is sometimes it does a series of clicks pretty loud for about 10 seconds then it stops, then it starts over again. I read this is normal. So far we have enjoyed this!
Thank you for making this video, I recently had my Combo machine delivered and after a week + we Love it! I do have the pedestal so that will help when cleaning. Also because of your video I pre-ordered a long lint brush and extension for our vacuum to make sure the lint area is cleaned out properly. I have also watched your other video on your likes & dislikes, which is good, I too have lint & hair buildup there in the folds of the rubber lip but we have pets , so that’s par for the course! Thanks again for the informative videos 😊!
@@thomasdutton6894 we actually had one from our previous machine, with intentions to use it. When we removed the old machine, it had worn a hole straight through the middle of the tray. The tray also raised the height of the machine slightly, so it would have been a very tight squeeze to get under our cabinets, plus the machine is 300 lbs. lifting it up onto the tray would have very likely broken a new one. Lastly, I hate the look of those trays. 🫣🤷♀️
this will keep it running smoothly... and it looks easy. In my current laundry room I bought a small vacuum that stays in the laundry room...and I have this attachment that would be perfect for getting in there all the way...I use my vacuum to vacuum the lint filter to keep lint dust from going everywhere..I think I can go a solid year before I have to change the vacuum bag.
We had a GE washer & dryer that was 16 years old and other than a new timer installed in the dryer in 2021, they never missed a beat. Mid September 2023 we decided to get a new washer & dryer. We are in our late 60's and figured we would be saving ourselve's from the old units breaking down. My wife's Sister had gotten a new front loader and my wife liked it. Pretty much every appliance in our home is GE, so we just got GE replacements. Lo***'s is about the only appliance store in our area, so we went there. "WE have used them before". We purchased a "top of the line" matching GE washer & dryer set. They delivered them and installed them. I guess you are supposed to cycle the washer once with just water before using, so the deliverers turned the washer on before leaving. It went on, but seemed rather loud. At the rinse cycle, all hell broke loose, literally. It started bouncing around and had a squeal like a bad bearing makes. I flipped the breaker to shut it down and unplugged it. We immediately called the store then went down the following day. The following Monday they came and got it. It was full of water and they had a hard time getting it out of the house. The guy hooked one hose to both water intake inlets, so there was minimal water leakage. A week later they delivered the second new machine. So they hook the new machine up and it is dead in the water. No panel, nothing. I checked the power outlet with my meter & it was OK. The delivery guy called the store and they said to bring it back. We are now on week 3 of not having a washer. The next unit will be delivered Friday 10/6. We're crossing our fingers. They claim they have never had this happen with GE ? We have never used a laundry mat until this in the 48 years we've been married. We use 3 machines at the laundry mat and bring the clothes home wet, "it's 10 minutes away". Good news is the new dryer seems to work Great. We gave our old units to a friends Daughter just starting out and they're going strong. Maybe we should have just kept them. We did get the 5 year extended warranty at purchase. We're thinking if this next washer is messed up, we may switch brands. We're stuck with the dryer now, but the washer is refundable since it never worked.
We “joke” about, and cautioned my brothers, about replacing his 20+ year old appliances. The new ones seem to have a MUCH shorter life span. Good luck to you with your next purchase. I’m sorry! You might look at a Speed Queen. I hear they are workhorses, but you won’t find them at Lowes.
What a nightmare for you, so sorry that has happened. My husband and I (49 years) had a 17 year old Maytag Neptune Tower front loader- not one repair or issue. The dryer seemed to overheat recently and we too thought we should replace🤦♀️. The only machine that would fit in the space we had was the new GE ultrafast 2 in one. Big learning curve to learn how to use it and it is very “high maintainence”. What can you do? Hope your last delivery worked out for you- hang in there!
I bought a tiny 1 gal wet/dry vac that I keep next to mine. I use it for this and to vacuum any lint that gets on the coil after the filter. Just be sure to get a super small hose attachment you can get in there without damaging the coils.
If only the salesman had explained all this to me when I bought it. I NEVER would have bought it. I’m 72 with bad knees and can’t get down on the floor easily.
I’ve never seen a fool baking pan thin enough for this job, although I guess I could cut one of the sides down. My air fryer grease catching pan is even too tall. It’s a very thin area to maneuver in.
This is the first thing I haven't liked about this machine. I'm 77, getting down on the floor (no riser) was one thing but then getting up was ANOTHER... problem... then I forgot the water drainage.... it's too low to the floor as some have mentioned to collect the water and then POUR it into something else....as I'm leaning over to the floor from my waist...thankfully I'm flexible....soooo I'm liking some of your suggestion for a pan....and maybe a tray to collect automotive oil could work? BUT, I'm going to try this... a big balloon that could stretch over the white pull down thing...the water would drain into the balloon....I just have to try to see if it would work....ANYONE HAVE THOUGHTS ALONG THAT LINE....I need a good hack! This is a terrible design for seniors
@@beestronger1 I’m still playing with successful options. I do think putting some paper towels or a regular towel under the unit before you start draining is a wise choice. Then whatever spills will easily be cleaned up by pulling out the damp towel. I’ll do a 6 month update on my machine in a few months, and plan to have a solution worked out to share!
@@Ozzie4Para-I clean my filter after every load. Initially I noticed very little lint but it got to be more as time went on. Then I noticed that there was no light inside (before there was light coming through condenser). The condenser was completely covered. I don’t know why ge doesn’t provide a tool to clean this and provide with purchase sad😢
I have had this issue and I clean the filter after every use. I al noticed very little lint the first month of usage but as time goes on more lint on the filter
I say this on every video I watch that pertains to this machine. People need to clean their lint filter after every load. I'm single and my loads of laundry are fairly small because as I said, I'm single and I don't produce that much laundry in terms of load sizes. But the amount of lint that gets trapped in my filter after just one load is quite a bit. Keeping the condenser as clean as possible will determine this machine's lifespan. I know GE says you only have to clean the lint filter every four or five loads but that's just insane to me. Four or five loads is going to cause a lot of lint to get trapped in both filter medias and its going to get in to the condenser just like what was shown in this video. I have a cordless Dyson vacuum along with a long extension that allows me to reach all the way inside the filter compartment to vacuum the lint that's also left behind. People who don't clean their filters after every use are just asking for machine problems sooner than later. So for that I say don't be lazy people. Clean your filter after every use to make your machine last as long as possible. You'll be sorry otherwise....
I do agree that 4-5 loads isn’t frequent enough, but after every single load might now be necessary either. I look at mine before each, and sometimes there isn’t enough to scrape off. This machine just doesn’t produce the same amount of lint as other dryers, which is why they’re suggesting the reduction in frequency. That said, I agree with your overall sentiment for sure. Caution and care are needed.
I agree completely. Clean the pull out filter after every load-vacuum the grey filter. Vacuum all the way to the back of lint filter well minimum once a week. Run hot water over grey filter every week to remove fabric softener build up.
@@katbarako I tried to post the extension I use on my Dyson DC35. I bought the extension from Amazon but the comment with the link keeps getting deleted.
I’m sending mine back due to the lint build up and it already needs a new motor shaft. GE sells a brush to get in there. You have to be careful not to bend the fins on the condenser. Look way in the back with a flash light and you’ll see more lint at back where filter sits. This build up will not be good for the long term especially for people who aren’t going to look in there and clean like you did. Maybe version 2.0 will fix some of the shortcomings.
You mentioned GE sells a brush. Would love to know how to get one. It appears to me that the filter isn’t doing a very good job since it is getting past the filter and onto the condenser. I have pets so lots of hair and I’m constantly cleaning out the condenser. I hadn’t realized that it was even an issue but looked inside and couldn’t see the light through the condenser. It was totally blocked.

hi thanks for makeing the video i did it like you did love this washer just wish i would of got the riser but like you said it can be done you would think g e would come up with something to put under there but other then that thanks again and other thing i tried 3 different hose from my vacume and wont fit in lint holder lol
Thank you so much for showing what you do with the new GE? We are going to buy this fabulous machine.. do you know if this take pods and how do you use the pods? Do you add them where it indicates detergent or put them in the actual machine lol.. I’m sorry this just seems tricky .. thank you
It’s the KRAUS Kore Workstation. I believe it’s the 45 inch. When we redid our kitchen a couple of years ago, I wanted a big stove, he wanted a big sink. We love them both!
Thank you for a very informative video. I've only had my unit for about a week so I haven't had to do a "deep" clean yet, but when I do I'll know how to get it done. Have you also cleaned the Microban gasket around the drum or run a self-clean cycle?
I have cleaned stuff out of the Microban gasket as needed and used the self-clean cycle once. Both are easy and you shouldn’t have any issues. Thanks for watching, and if you haven’t already, check my full review because I did show some the Microban gasket there. GE All in One with a BIG Family? [Are we keeping it?] th-cam.com/video/UIleX8_h574/w-d-xo.html
The manual instructs you to clean the micro an gasket after every load by wiping all the way around and inside the fold with a disinfectant wipe. I do this and there is always a lot of black lint there even after a load of whites🤷🏼♀️. Lot of maintainence with this machine🤦♀️
It’s said to use WAY less electricity. The heat pump drying is way better than a standard dryer. We are on solar, so I haven’t noticed any change at all. Our panels over produce monthly, so we pay $13.88 monthly for our connection fees, and that is it.
It dryer works be pulling out the water from the clothes. The water drains around the door into the gasket. I wish it didn’t drip, but I’ve been able to get around this by running the wrinkle care setting. It seems to remove the humidity from the clothes, and the drips from the door.
You can use a cup of bleach or a tablet specifically for washing machine cleaning. Easy just put either one in the drum, push clean cycle and you are all set😂 the only easy thing to do with this machine.
I bought a coil cleaning brush on Amazon. It's long handle and soft bristles. My biggest issue with this machine is fleece blankets . They wash but it can't spin the water out . I have to remove and wring out by hand them the washer can spin the remaining water out . I'm just not going to wash them in this washer 🙁
Any guess what the technicsl issue is with fleece blankets? We wash several a day..heavy ones in our conventional fl. Is the spin cycle weak or could they be getting uneven and the load cancels?
@@jlinder6366 the load is not canceling, but I do think perhaps it’s a weaker spin? You’re inspiring me to setup for a video on this. Perhaps I should try a couple of different weights and see what happens. The one it struggled with is very thick, and it was just super heavy/wet at what should have been the end of the first load. I say “should Have” because it turned to a “load sensing” cycle at the end to verify that it’s all dry, and just kept running, which is why I eventually stopped it to find out that it was still very wet/heavy. That’s why I started a 2nd cycle of drying only, which did start with a spin that did remove some excess water at that point. I watched it for quite some time, and the blanket freely tumbled in the dryer after the spin. It simply didn’t get super dry. I’ll work on this. I’ll do one of our thinner fleece, and then the thick to compare.
Are you seeing less lint in your laundry room in general with this unit? One of my pet peeves is the lint that seems to be over all the surfaces in the laundry room from my traditional dryer. I’m hoping that this unit will reduce or eliminate this issue.
There is some lint in the bottom of the access door, but nowhere else. The top of the unit, as well as our room is staying as clean as a laundry room for 7 can possibly stay, or maybe that’s just the story that I like to tell myself. 😉
That is a lot of work that 99% of people won't want to do. I am a HUGE fan of energy efficient condensing dryers. I think that GE may in time will rethink the ease of cleaning. I can't see having a combination washer/dryer unless space is limited then it makes sense. This is why they flopped back in the 1950's. I think that Bendix made one.
You clean the lint filter on a regular dryer EVERY time you use it. This has very little lint build up comparatively, and the aggregate amount of work is a LOT less, it seems to me.
Great Instructions ! But after 2 to 3 years of Heavy use, the unit will have to be disassembled to clean condensor and evaporator coils along with the entire pan all those parts sit in. Most people will not do that, so drying time takes longer and longer frustrating owners.
We disassembled our previous washer. It definitely isn’t a quick job. Thankfully we have a 5 year complete warranty, so hoping she gives me at least 5 easy years of laundry with all of our littles. If not, we will turn to the Speed Queens for sure!
I have a GE Combo and love it. Or at least I DID love it until it died after two months. The drum stopped spinning and they say it will be three weeks before they can get someone out to even look at it. For a busy homeschooling family of six (including an infant and a potty training toddler) I just don't have time to take everything to the laundromat for nearly a month. Man, I loved that thing, but now it makes me mad to even look at it.
@@thehometownhomesteadwell for now I'm just waiting to see what the repair guy says at the end of the month. As far as laundry, I discovered my local laundromat offers drop off service (take them my dirty stuff, they wash dry and fold for me to pick up the next day) so I paid a total of $45 for two loads. Supposedly GE is sending me money to cover my laundromat fees, so we'll see how it comes out in the end.
So, to follow up... The repair guy got to us after three and a half weeks. He turnedon the combo and, of course, then the drum spun just fine. He couldn't replicate the problem. He decided to go ahead and replace the motherboard the following week. It's been running fine since then. Now I'm just nervous it's going to randomly quit on me. But I'm so happy it's running again. The repair man said his niece just bought one and said that our was the first service call he's done on a Combo.
Seems like a lot of work to maintain such a modern piece of equipment. It looks like time is needed to resolve issues as buyers make problems known through videos.
My cookie sheet is still just slightly too tall, allowing water go run back underneath. I’m continuing to test new options for a 6 month update coming in Feb, so I’ll keep working on the perfect solution.
One is enough for us, so far! I’m saving the space for a freeze dryer down the line, so I don’t want to fill the other spot just yet! Glad you’re loving your machine!
The sheet pan that I have has a 1” lip, and it will not fit under there. Using one too tall will actually funnel the water directly UNDER the machine. I did come up with a fix, and will have it in my 6 month review, which will be out in the next couple of weeks!
Not exactly impressed with the design/engineering of this product. Considering the fact that most people do not maintain most of the products they own, something like this device should have been designed to make the filter maintenance much easier. I can envision all the equipment failures and service calls resulting from lack of proper maintenance, and of course the manufacturer refusing to take responsibility for failures if they can tell the maintenance wasn't done or done properly.
I understand the hesitation. The advantage here is that the machine tells you when to clean it on the filter and you have to approve that you did it, or cancel to do a load. If you skip, uh reminds you again next time. It also tells you when to clean the foam filter. They’ve built in many safe guards, but it’s definitely up to the individual to know themselves and their ability to clean it properly. Thanks for watching, and good luck with whatever system works for you!
It may appear to be extra, but you don’t have to clean the dryer vent hose out of the house, and most washers have the same lower filter that is to be cleaned. The foam filter is in place of the wall tube, that becomes a fire hazard. It’s definitely personal preference. Thanks for watching!
This is the first time I hear about this kind of maintenance. Disappointing. I mean, I’m sure it’s the same with other front load washers except they’re not serviceable so nobody cleans them and it’s probably disgusting what’s in them but I was hoping this washer/dryer did a better job flushing the water out.
I’m sorry that you’re struggling! So far, we have had success just stating on top of it with 1 load a day. I have used it nonstop when washing up all of our bedding, but that took 2 full days over a weekend to wash 5 beds worth of sheets, mattress protectors and comforters. Maybe go for Quick Wash to get through your backup? Once you’re caught up, 1-2 loads a day is super manageable, at least for us. Option 2, if you’re still within the return period, exchange it for a Speed Queen set.

There’s a filter mod you can make and it helps A LOT. “You can find it on TH-cam.
I was thrilled to get rid of my nasty vent hose! So glad this helped. Thank you for watching!
Just ordered the Combo unit yesterday based on numerous reviews. I appreciate you demonstrating how to maintain the unit to avoid issues down the road. Great video!
Congratulations! I hope you love it!
We purchased this 2 in 1 machine and we love it. Thank you for the demonstration on how to maintenance the machine. It was really easy after following your directions. 😊
Glad to hear it! Congests on your new purchase!
That kid’s toy from the 1960s-“Operation”-is good training for cleaning the top filter.
Just an observation.
Good video. Thanks!
This is VERY true! 😆😆😆
Definitely the IP of laundry! Excellent info, thanks for sharing!
I’m so happy I was able to help you feel more prepared! Enjoy your new machine. We had another first in ours today, when we washed a diaper. 🫣
Just curious, why did u not buy a washer pan for any potential leaks?
@@thomasdutton6894 we actually had one from our previous machine, with intentions to use it. When we removed the old machine, it had worn a hole straight through the middle of the tray. The tray also raised the height of the machine slightly, so it would have been a very tight squeeze to get under our cabinets, plus the machine is 300 lbs. lifting it up onto the tray would have very likely broken a new one.
Lastly, I hate the look of those trays. 🫣🤷♀️
Thanks for sharing. I have only had my machine for 2 weeks so I haven’t cleaned that bottom filter yet. Now I know how. 😊
Glad it helped! Are you loving it so far?
this will keep it running smoothly... and it looks easy.
Outstanding! Thanks for taking the time do make this video for us! Very interesting too! Subscribed! I will tell others also.
Thank you for watching, and thank you for your kind words! My channel is still really young, so I greatly appreciate your support’
Your reviews are great, helpful. It’s because of your complete & informative review we bought our all-in-one. First wash today. Thanks.
Thank you for your kind words! I hope you love your new purchase!
@traybernit was a tower....basically stacked
This was excellent. Thanks for making this video.
Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for watching!
Thank you for your videos. I’m planning on getting one of these I’m on four Solar and I’m very excited
Come back and let me know what you think once you get it!
I have a combo also. I have the same problem area with the lint on the blue coils. The you for the tip.
You’re welcome! Glad it helped!
I bought a tiny 1 gal wet/dry vac that I keep next to mine. I use it for this and to vacuum any lint that gets on the coil after the filter. Just be sure to get a super small hose attachment you can get in there without damaging the coils.
Great idea!
I can't afford this machine I don't have this machine but yet I watched you your videos already lol great job
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the information.
To clean my Combo, I have a silicone basting brush. Cleans the filter easily and without damage or stretching.
That’s a fabulous idea!
Thanks for the video. I wasn't sure how to clean the bottom filter on mine.
I came away thinking it was easier than I had imagined, which is a great thing!
If only the salesman had explained all this to me when I bought it. I NEVER would have bought it. I’m 72 with bad knees and can’t get down on the floor easily.
Raise up the machine....pretty simple fix....have someone do it for you!
A foil baking pan from the dollar store works great for catching the water instead of a plate.
Sounds like the rooster enjoyed it too.
I notice the same build up on the radiator of our unit. I was wondering if folks were having the same issue!
The build up on the condenser is because you're not cleaning your filter after every load. Read my post above....
Would love to know which extension! Thanks 😊
Yes. Cleaning will have to be maintained, and I do think I’ll look for a longer brush.
Thanks for adding your experience and thank you for watching!
I use a cookie sheet and a shop vac to drain the filter-basket.
My cookie sheet was too tall. Glad yours worked well!
We love ours ,i have pets so i have to clean the lint filter very often.
I plan to do a thorough cleaning of mine at least twice a month.
Watching this early morning. I heard roosters and I thought it was coming from outside. Didn't realize it was the video. haha

The roosters got promoted to different pastures to live out their lives in the country. Our small town life wasn’t right for their nonstop chatter. 🤣

hi thanks for makeing the video i did it like you did love this washer just wish i would of got the riser but like you said it can be done you would think g e would come up with something to put under there but other then that thanks again and other thing i tried 3 different hose from my vacume and wont fit in lint holder lol
They should sell a thin slide under pan. My sheet pans are too tall. I’m working on some other options.
Thanks!

I love your videos ❤.. new subbie!
Thanks for subbing!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Do you know how to turn on the ultrafresh setting? It appears in my menu but I can't turn it on.
Thank you so much for showing what you do with the new GE? We are going to buy this fabulous machine.. do you know if this take pods and how do you use the pods? Do you add them where it indicates detergent or put them in the actual machine lol.. I’m sorry this just seems tricky .. thank you
Just inside the drum! I just asked this at Lowe’s because we are thinking about getting this too!
Super helpful video! Also, I know it wasn't the point, but do you know what brand of sink you have that was shown?
It’s the KRAUS Kore Workstation. I believe it’s the 45 inch. When we redid our kitchen a couple of years ago, I wanted a big stove, he wanted a big sink. We love them both!
Did you have to remove shipping bolts when you got yours delivered I know my delivery guys didn't remove anything
Yes. We installed it ourselves and did remove the bolts.
@@thehometownhomestead thank you much I will double check to make sure they are out before trying out today
I use my pan from the toaster oven with a small lip
Thank you for a very informative video. I've only had my unit for about a week so I haven't had to do a "deep" clean yet, but when I do I'll know how to get it done. Have you also cleaned the Microban gasket around the drum or run a self-clean cycle?
I have cleaned stuff out of the Microban gasket as needed and used the self-clean cycle once. Both are easy and you shouldn’t have any issues.
Thanks for watching, and if you haven’t already, check my full review because I did show some the Microban gasket there.
GE All in One with a BIG Family? [Are we keeping it?]
th-cam.com/video/UIleX8_h574/w-d-xo.html
The manual instructs you to clean the micro an gasket after every load by wiping all the way around and inside the fold with a disinfectant wipe. I do this and there is always a lot of black lint there even after a load of whites🤷🏼♀️. Lot of maintainence with this machine🤦♀️
How about electricity bills ? Is that combo better or more in electricity bills ?
It’s said to use WAY less electricity. The heat pump drying is way better than a standard dryer.
We are on solar, so I haven’t noticed any change at all. Our panels over produce monthly, so we pay $13.88 monthly for our connection fees, and that is it.
I have one too have you ever ran into having clothes still wet like didn’t drain or spin water out where got to Spin again
Just once with a fleece blanket, and I can’t even duplicate it again.
Watch this video as I try! Can the GE Combo handle Large Loads? [Plus how long do they take?]
th-cam.com/video/Orb9gG4HAg4/w-d-xo.html
A baking tray with a 1/2" lip should be able to fit under there and hold a cup of water. No need to empty multiple times.
My baking tray won’t fit, but I’m still looking at other options.
Also, why does water drip even after the dry cycle is complete?
It dryer works be pulling out the water from the clothes. The water drains around the door into the gasket. I wish it didn’t drip, but I’ve been able to get around this by running the wrinkle care setting. It seems to remove the humidity from the clothes, and the drips from the door.
Hint. When water may be present during these filter cleans, simply use a shop vac or any vacuum that is wet capable to insure no water messes. Easy!
That’s an awesome idea, but my shop vac is huge and in the basement. I need to invest in a smaller one!
What about doing the self clean mode for the drum? I think you need to add bleach or cleaner and then make it run thriugh the self-clean cycle...
You can use a cup of bleach or a tablet specifically for washing machine cleaning. Easy just put either one in the drum, push clean cycle and you are all set😂 the only easy thing to do with this machine.
Do you get water at the lint filter? We’ve had the machine for 4 months and it seems like now there is water up by the lint filter
No. We don’t. Have you been cleaning off the blue fins inside of the filter?
@@thehometownhomestead yes I clean the fins regularly with a brush and shopvac attachment
@@brenteads2154 I’d probably schedule a warranty call since it’s starting this while you’re still in date.
Good luck!
What about the warranty do you recommend the Extended warranty just a thought.
We did buy the extended warranty. Since it’s a new product, I think it’s better to be safe on this one.
A wet/dry vac would work well for draining the water.
That’s also a great idea! We have one of those so I’ll bring it up next time!
do it require the exhaust hose like old dryers
No! The water is removed through the drain hose, as part of the drying process.
I just had a blanket issue yesterday actually. I ended up spinning it alone, and then hanging to finish drying.
@@thehometownhomestead Thank you for your response and for the informative video. I’ve subscribed👍🏽. My units will be delivered today! So excited!
I think this technology should have a five year warranty for parts and service!
If it was included, that would be awesome. We added it to ours for sure. It’s new enough to want to make sure we have some security.
I actually agree. It also reminds you when it’s time to do any cleaning process, which is fabulous!
So what did you do? Did you buy something else? Your warranty should cover you at this point.
Hopefully they will get there to fix it soon!
@@staceyweyrick3048 hopefully it’s done soon!
A cookie sheet can hold a lot of water.
My cookie sheet is still just slightly too tall, allowing water go run back underneath. I’m continuing to test new options for a 6 month update coming in Feb, so I’ll keep working on the perfect solution.
My only regret is that I didn't buy two of these
One is enough for us, so far! I’m saving the space for a freeze dryer down the line, so I don’t want to fill the other spot just yet!
Glad you’re loving your machine!
Sheet pan
The sheet pan that I have has a 1” lip, and it will not fit under there. Using one too tall will actually funnel the water directly UNDER the machine.
I did come up with a fix, and will have it in my 6 month review, which will be out in the next couple of weeks!
Remember to never use fabric softener It just puts wax on everything
Agree! We definitely don’t use it. I don’t like the chemical fragrance aspect either.
Not for seniors
@@peggybuetow1026 I would have to agree.
Seems like a lot of extra work having to do all the cleaning.
I’d rather clean my laundry than a machine…

We’re planning for success, but have an extra comprehensive warranty, just in case!
Thanks for watching!
You are very beautiful, I watch your videos because you are adorable
Thank you for the kind words, and thank you for watching!
I absolutely hate this machine! I can not catch up on laundry.
Option 2, if you’re still within the return period, exchange it for a Speed Queen set.
would never buy. Looks like terrible cleaning.
I’m glad you found this useful in making a decision to stick with a traditional set. Thanks for watching!
This machine is ridiculous.
