Just want to add some history to the 3mib comic crawls 👉it started during the pandemic when comic shops and small businesses were hurting. 👉Otto had an idea to reach out to a couple comic shop owners and reached out to about 15 to 20 local comic book collectors and said hey This certain date, I want to bring X amount of people to your store to hunt comics. 👉 it really helped the stores out. Thanks so much, I wish I had included this in the video! As is I ended up cutting about 20 minutes of footage but this was an event certainly deserving of more time!
So glad you were able to go you got new M16 I am so happy you can finish your collection reading is sometimes more important, then money. Love your video.!
Great video Brother. Happy You acquired some awesome for Your Personal Collection. Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😎👍❤️📚📚📚📚📚💯💯💯💯💯
Great show I like looking at comic book shops and when you fish through the long boxes. I particularly like your first appearance of Jim Rhodes the helicopter pilot and the foil cover with Galactus so you're stocking up for shiny covers number one from him lunch money comics.
It's great to see that run of X-Men books, it really drives home how much solid story-telling and beautiful art are in the series at that point in its history. Mike Ploog's art sets just the right tone for Marvel's Frankenstein title, and his work is even more powerful when he did stories for the b/w magazines such as Tales Of The Zombie and Dracula Lives. The slabbed Guardians Of The Galaxy definitely has an attractive cover, a rare example where 90s excesses worked to enhance the cover rather than detract from it.
Let's just say you had Lunch at the Plaza Hotel. Lunch is lunch, right. Nice books. I'm a big fan of 70's horror so I'm collecting them all. Got 5 long boxes so far. May not get them all, but it sure is fun trying!
Aaagh! I want that Guardians 25 so bad. I can’t believe you got it for $40! All-time favorite team. And yes, I know they’re kinda cheesy, but it’s also so good at the same time.
Your experience reminded me of my days working at a local shop and getting invited to a yearlyish BBQ and hangout hosted by a cool dude and local collector that had owners and workers from our shop and other shops in town invited and also local artists ( Mike Allred was a great guy to hang with and talk to ) and museum curators who lived in the area. It's awesome you had the chance to hang with other like minded people at the crawl, love those moments in collecting.
I don't even know where to start, this was so huge and great pick-up that I am just out of words.. Basically I need everyone of those 🤣😅 And what an awesome gathering! Just a cool vid like always!
Really great days from the 3mib crawl, those books and discounts were awesome. Congrats on getting some PC books and getting that 9.8 for your son is awesome.
Trading really paid off. I learned that early on with my Avengers when I wanted to get higher graded books. Vendors could move my lower graded books quicker which made them want to do the trade. I paid a little more but with the trading value of the books I had it wasn’t so bad. The fact that your books came from picking at lower prices was enjoyable to hear. Congrats
Excellent finds and great deals!! You looked like a kid in a candy store. I wouldn't know where to start. I do have to argue that X-Men Annual 14 is Gambit's first full appearance...it is definitely more than a cameo and came out a month earlier than X-Men 266. Keep up the good work.
A $1000 book just sitting in a box. Damn! Great buys and good finds on getting stuff for your Chris Claremont run! I own issue 25 of GoftG, that cover is so awesome. Bought it for a dollar back in 2012.
23:57 LOL I have that book. Not slabbed but bagged and boarded since I purchased it when it came out. Not worth slabbing at all but it looks cool nice display piece graded.
You are dead right about kids being lucky with being able to save their games. I remember those days as well. Actually kind of miss those challenges. Great gets. Awesome you were able to get that close to finishing the Claremont uncanny run.
Congratulations on the books! Yes, I played that game. I got through the Cyclops levels. That game was really something. I don’t think many people actually got through that game.
I love that Nightcrawler figure. Of course, I was drooling over those Wolverine figures. How could I pick just one comic book as a favorite? The Monster of Frankenstein book is amazing, and a Tomb of Dracula book too. I've always loved that Neal Adams cover for Superman. Awesome grade and price for the first appearance of Gambit, and that 9.8 Guardians of the Galaxy is so cool. All around, I'd say you had an amazing haul, Mike. Cheers!
Awesome video wish I was there too. I live in a section of Florida that has no shops for miles, so love watching the finds. Also, the first two appearances of Marvel's version of Frankenstein's Monster are in X-Men #40 (Jan. 1968) and Silver Surfer #7 (Aug. 1969).
Great pick-ups. No need to explain about spending more than "Lunch Money" on that great haul. Those trades for comics that you got for cheap makes the deal a great bargain.
We often talk about fomo for books or figures. But the real fomo here is that awesome community you guys have over there, I see so many familiar faces, 360 Joe, Pope, BrixCo, Will, Jim. Why do I have to be stuck on the other side of the country 😭 If ever I move I’m heading straight to your guys neck of the woods.
Freaking awesome pick ups! Love that Superman #233 (got it in a trade paperback) Congrats on making a dent in your Claremont X-Men collection. I never knew that Marvel Frankenstein comic even existed & now I wanna try to find one for myself. Keep up the great work Mike.
Always love your videos !! Hi Will the Comic Beast !!! Love that young man too and I hope people go sub to him. He is up-and-coming in the comic world.
Awesome pickups, love that Gambit comic, I only have Two of the X-men annual #14 that is technically the first appearance of Gambit but of course that is debatable, thanks for sharing that great haul.
I freaked when I heard Sarges in New London, that’s my closest LCS! I would love to see you shop around in there to see what you pick up. Also awesome comic haul too👍
Seeing such good prices on books I want in my PC has kept me patient on picking up certain books and it's greatly appreciated. Love the content as always!! *I think the nightcrawler figure and Frankenstein book might have been the best pick-up*
Wow, epic comic hunting video for sure! I too just recently got my own copy of THE MONSTER OF FRANKENSTEIN #1 from a late night WhatNot stream. I have been wanting it for a long time now, as I specifically collect any and all Frankenstein comics. That whole Marvel Frankenstein series is a great read. I am especially found of Issue #4, where the story becomes all-new original material and picks up right from the end of Mary Shelley's novel. I have always thought that Issue would make a great starting point for a Frankenstein sequel. I have my own idea of where it could go mapped out in my head. Issue #4 though is really where the Frankenstein Monster enters the Marvel Universe for the first time as it's own particular version of the character. Keep up the good work and thank you as always for the cheap entertainment. (P.S. You are also the only You Tuber that I can count on to not just skip right over my boy, The Phantom Stranger. Give me that sweet pause of appreciation before moving on.)
@@TJ-pk3wl sure it's the Huntsville comic &pop culture expo in April 12-14 Huntsville AL at the von Braun center that would be awesome if you do so I can meet you my friend

And I also spend a lot more money on lunch than I did 30 years ago, so keep on buying ...
Arcade's Revenge!! I owned it on Game Gear and finished that version which was much more simplified compared to the Genesis/SNES version. First off, congrats on those X-Men books. I bought/read/owned them back in the day. Yes I'm that old 😂
Nintendo was after my time but I remember the Spider-Man Atari game. Classic! Congrats on shrinking the X list!
great pickups mike. Always a fun hunt with the 3mib crew
