Thanks mate, geez only early days for me then isn't it ,still a spring chicken😅 Yeah it's a hard balance to be motivated on your own stuff when you are busy building everyone else's stuff.
Thanks mate but there is some real good work on here hidden amongst all the rubbish. Have a look at wray from proshaper or Peter tommasini, some God tier work there for those that have the patience to watch.
Thanks for the video mate, for the rat problem get yourself a couple of Shop Lions, only feed them in the morning, let them loose in the workshop at night, Rj in nth NSW
Haha yeah it's a sealed workshop so it must have got in when I had the rollerdoor open taking something out and then was trapped inside 😅, I'd let my cats in there but they would get filthy from all the metal dust
Amazing as always Nathan! I like your creative ideas. The window wiper/latch is a great and out of tge box idea. Your creativity is inspiring. I hope you get or already have gotten your love back for this car.
Thanks man, yeah a lot of ways I could have gone about it I just go with whatever works in my head at the time, and if I have the things laying around I can usually cobble something together. I wouldn't say the love is back, but it sure owes me a good chunk of my life
epic build! annoying when stuff breaks just doing something simple. i remember countless times thinking afterwards.. if i put an old doona down while installing xyz that might not have broke when it fell. could be something to consider if it's not getting in the way constantly(trip hazard) thought you'd have glued in a waterproof electrical button for the tailgate into the glass, mechanical one be more reliable though no doubt.
Haha yeah I didn't notice it was cracked until I took the masking tape off it😅, initially I was going to do elec button or keyfob popper but I just felt mechanical was easier and you can lift the hatch open from in the hole, otherwise you'd have to push the button and push up on the spoiler or something. It will all be waterproof when it's glued to the glass face unless you put the hose directly into the hole I guess 😅 just needs a little spring loaded cover plate so there is no hole visible in the glass and I'll be happy with it.
@@notevn i might have missed it? but is there a water drain for that access hole for car washing etc? yeah good point on it being is lifting point also :)
Nah I haven't added one to it yet I will drill a hole and put a little nipple there with some washer bottle hose and route it to the bottom of the tailgate.
Yeah for sure man I just need to run the wiring and then I'll soak in there with cavity wax and just make a little pocket that's glued in with sealer I don't want to block it off as no access to repair dents in the future will be a nightmare.
That hole for the tailgate opener might be bad idea because now water can be trapped in that tube and rust it out. Maybe button can be just below glass surface with rubber boot sealing hole but can still push button.
Yeah it's all stainless pipe and base plate just haven't drilled a hole in the base for a barb and rubber drain tube yet, should be fine. Originally was going to do a button but rather mechanical and gives you an area to pull open the tailgate (or would be a two hand operation ,one pushing the button ,one lifting off the spoiler to open)
Oh they are just a bit sticky from the sealer, put a plastic prybar under them and slowly lift and they should start to separate the seller and come off. The lenses crack easily so be patient. I didn't use heat as it would prob warp the lenses given how fragile they are
I don't understand the price hikes either, I think they owe me like 2k new and people are selling them for like 6k these days 😅 makes no sense, like most of the parts on this car (confetti recaros owe me 400 for the pair lol) I got them when imports were good cars because they were fun and cheap, before prices went dumb because of the 25year rule in the us.
Killer work wizard.
Cheers bro
Man your skills, creativity and problem solving skills are so impressive
Thanks mate

@@notevn yeeeeep, Just a mindset, modification required when it's your own.
Like this is a fun journey and time means nothing🤗👍👍
The format and flow of this video was really good in addition to the good content of it.
Thanks mate
You do some of the best work that i have seen on youtube

So much work to get the metal to bend in so many directions. Hope you find some me time in this festive season.😊😊😊😊😊😊
Yeah greatly underestimated this one haha, definitely a never agsin job 😅

I had one of these back in my day. 1987 toyota fxgt
Great work! Already looking forward to the next video 🙂
Thanks mate Hopefully back onto the regular cars
That is very very impressive work, sheet metalwork is a dying art form. Love the car man, keep it up 👍
Thanks mate, its a primitive video as I didn't think I'd be filming any of it so a lot of the steps are missing.
As always the best work 🙌
Thanks mate
Perfection 👌

Looks great! Always looking forward to your uploads 😊
Thanks mate, back to regular videos in the new year
Entertaining as always mate, you are a metal wizard! Happy New Year
Thanks mate happy new year
that is a ludicrous spoiler lol. i'm also being an 'idiot' and spending more holiday time in the garage. happy days, happy new year!
It's quite large 😅😅 happy new year man rip in and get something done
Thank for another awesome video, always look forward to watching your amazing skills! Wish I never sold my 260RS 😞! Happy new year!
Happy new year, you can still pick them up within the next year or two before the states get them eligible and jack the prices.
@@notevn I'm out of space lol, I have 7 projects, inc some of which are in your garage 😁

Thanks for the watch. Happy new year
Love your imagination, just wish you could get paid for it😅 quality work 👌
Haha how good would that be🤣
Subscribed. Amazing stuff and great explanation
Thanks mate, they are primitive videos 😅
amazing.
Nice work
Thanks
Man, you do amazing work, The car looks 💯 bitching
Thanks man
Hey man pocket the back of spoiler light so water cant track back into the cavity?
Yeah for sure man I just need to run the wiring and then I'll soak in there with cavity wax and just make a little pocket that's glued in with sealer I don't want to block it off as no access to repair dents in the future will be a nightmare.

Dude is there anything you cant do when it comes to metal work?? Awesome work. You don't make chin spoilers for dato 1600's do you 😂
Plenty I can't do man, lots to learn yet.
I don't man I haven't played with many 1600s but have one here for a full build this year.
Looks like it came out of the factory like that. Chip Foose factory 😂😂😂
Haha thanks man
How did you remove the taillight from the tailgate?
Which one? The factory upper just unbolts
@notevn the center ones. I have all the bolts removed. But I can't pull them off. The corner ones were no issue. Do I need to heat them up?
Oh they are just a bit sticky from the sealer, put a plastic prybar under them and slowly lift and they should start to separate the seller and come off. The lenses crack easily so be patient. I didn't use heat as it would prob warp the lenses given how fragile they are
@@notevn 🙏THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🙏
Where can someone find those wheels? I already know they are vs and everything but where can someone find a good price for a set that is legit

Great work again
Kinda wasted on a dog ugly car...(my humble opinion)
Thanks man, absolutely 🤣 these cars are ugly as sin, trying to make it less ugly is a hard game to play.
