    Stunning work. I am 71 now, and ill quite a lot. When I am not well enough to work on my own cars I watch TH-cam channels for many hours in a day, so I can say without doubt that your work is some of the best to be seen anywhere in the world. We are all very lucky to be able to share your projects.

      Thanks Bob, that sucks about constantly being sick , hopefully keep coming out ontop. Just a self taught monkey having a go and trying to do better work everyday, only early days, lots to learn still, when im your age I should hopefully be pretty good at this.

    Awesome work! great to see you patient you are with every part of the lower sill and lower rear and front door jam area and especially the lower front fender work joining it up. Top workmanship!

      Thanks mate, its a fully original and complete car so trying to match factory and it look untouched...but on the other two I will make the sills flat underneath and no floor hanging below the sill height, aswell as the overlaps being made flush off the car, before the side of the car is hung on, as they don't have to match the factory overlap step ups.

      Thanks mate, I think it will stay as a small channel, people don't want to see long stuff in detail its boring, they want a 5 year build in 5 mins tv/tiktok spec haha.

    Mate, you are the Micheal Angelo (you are probably too young to know who Micheal Angelo is) of automotive art. Your efforts are truly amazing. I hope your customers know your quality work and the effort you put into making it perfect. Really enjoy your vids - thank you.

      Best way to learn is just have a go mate, no harm in making something a few times, and don't cut the original off until you are happy with the result.

      Haha I think I'm at 110hrs so far on this car with a good chunk done and a lot remade from scratch, am cheaper than you'd think, half the hourly of what a shop would charge so I think they get really good value in comparison.

    Question - i know when you mig thin metal like the skins 6-10inches apart in spots, repeat to keep the metal from warping.
    When i saw you tig weild a constant stream, i was wondering is tig not as hot as mig? I have never tig weilded before, i was wondering maybe the reason your panels are warping ?
    Tig a few centimetres then compressed air to cool the panel, then repeat - would this be a easier solution. ? Save some dollying 🤷‍♂️
    Thanks, not pointing anything out, just asking.

    • @notevn
      @notevn  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah its much different from mig.
      Mig welds harder than the parent metal and won't budge after welding, tig weld reacts the same as the sheet, so it will always warp(shrink) and you have to stretch the weld and welded area back out to regain the shape when tacked. Still getting the hang of it, is why I need to spend more time on it (but i won't charge for that time) one consistant pass is ideal, I did stop and starts and addressed small sections as I went on the falcon video as that was such a large area with no access, this had access 70% of the way so I went one pass.

    Interested to know if you would consider using aluminium for your own cosmo for bonnet, doors and boot lid. Also interested in what grade steel you use ? Enjoying the progress your making 😊

    • @notevn
      @notevn  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That would be sick, if I was experienced in alluminum I would attempt a whole rebody in it, considering I have to remake the entire body on mine, I want to try some alluminum sheet this year.
      As for the steel thickness.
      0.9mm

      There isn't much I've documented on that car it's pretty much something I built like 10 years ago and is horrible in comparison to my current work, I have cut out and remade most of everything under it(cut the whole floors and rails out)the last few months but I don't think I will make a video on it, is nothing special. Is more photos and stuff of it on my instagram.
      Has McPherson towers from a 1200 and shortened rack&pinion with just a mixed bag of random parts under it.
      Is a 13b bridge, semi pp, weber fed,6speed
      Shortened hilux diff, 4 link, coilovers
