I have a 2019 gti + and I felt the same way about the gearbox, in Manual it’s slow to respond to your demands, in sport it doesn’t wanna shift up even when you’re light on the throttle basically you can’t just drive around town in sport & in eco it just wants to shift up ASAP ... however I recently got an OBDeleven scan tool / coding device & within the app functions in the workshop sub folder there’s something called basic settings of transmission and I kid you not it has made the gearbox fantastic, it’s not jerky in sport mode also the manual shifts are on demand .. i highly recommend it to you or anyone that isn’t too happy about the way the standard gearbox responds

My 2015 Golf Gti dsg gearbox was great. Much better than the 2020 polo gti that I drove. I enjoyed it but the golf was better

9:15 - I have a Mk7.5 Golf GTI which is a DSG, and it's definitely fun to drive once in manual or sport mode! Although sport mode can make you quite antisocial so I found haha. Definitely makes more of a noise in the DSG as I have had a couple of backfires in manual and in sport mode before. Not sure about the manuals however as I've not been in the market for another manual as I made the change from my manual diesel Mk3.5 Focus as I wanted to move on to an automatic :)

You lucky bugger I would of loved a DSG mk7.5 golf GTI but was just that bit too far out of my budget unfortunately :-( Yes sport mode in built up areas is an ASBO waiting to happen, haha! Good choice moving to a GOLF GTI, bet you're loving it mate!!

Greta video, feel the same way about the headlights, shame VW made the halogens look so basic. Picking mine up in 2 weeks, got it in reef blue and with the 18 inch wheels, absolutely buzzing.

NCBHP Yesh the GTI+ makes so much sense for like 1.5k more but they weren’t gonna have one until like December so couldn’t do that 😂. Btw where did you get that spoiler from? Interested in getting one for mine when it arrives.
Ollie Ellwood yes if buying from new 1.5k is a no brainer how ever in the second hand market Gti + seems to be between £3-5k more than a standard Gti, which is crazy as its literally a 1.5k option from factory!
NCBHP woah that’s mental really, wonder why the gap is so massive! Do you have any info for the spoiler you got? :)
@@ollieellwood2268 yes sorry pal forgot to add it on the last comment, it was from diversion stores and its a race design spoiler however it took 2 months to arrive so i would advise you go to maxton design and pay that bit extra.
I've got a 2018 GTI plus and the exhaust sounds way louder, pops and bangs and DSG farts on upshifts etc, the OPF filter is killing the sound big time :(
is that the 6C? yeah exhaust is average needs a system on it!
NCBHP no mines an AW too, but I got it in August 2018 before the emissions change so has no OPF in it. I think all cars after September 2018 have the filter and it kills lots of the sound

You can now buy LED headlamp upgrades for none plus GTI's btw
yeah i have seen that online actually but 700 quid tho, not really worth it for the sake of 4 £5 quid LED bulbs! cheers for the comment :-)
One question, would the pretoria's fit the polo as i wanted to get those alloys
