We are in Da Nang currently and love it! We've been full-time traveling with our 2 kids and we are considering Da Nang as one of our home bases after traveling to 11 countries in 1 year! Easy airport access, clean, safe, nice beach and affordable! Simply Amazing!❤😊🇻🇳

Da Nang is one of my favorite cities in my favorite ( so far ) countries in Asia. I was there last month for a break from the extreme heat and poor air quality in Thailand. Yes , vendors do work to get your attention . A polite not now or no thanks was all that was needed however. As tourists we shouldn't forget they are trying very hard to make a living in a very competitive environment. Great video on the highlights of the city.
Yes we loved it there 😊. The only place we ever had aggressive sales was at the market, otherwise super kind and helpful. Cheers and thanks for watching 😊

Yes, it’s very annoying, but if you can keep smiling and say no thank you, they will leave you alone. I experienced the same annoyance from the tenacious vendors in Kathmandu as well. Learning to say a few phrases in the local language, while holding up the palm of you hand upright, while shaking both your head & your hand would stop the onslaught. That had worked for me.

Well said! My sister and I have been doing what you are doing for 4.5 years and we love it. Because we are from Australia we can only afford to go home once a year so we compensate by doing 2 things because we found we missed true friendships. We get our friends to come to Europe and we meet up with them (and give them good advice and tips) and we join expat groups in our long stay places. So we have made some amazing friends from all over the world including locals. Antalya is particularly welcoming for this! Maybe we could see you somewhere if our paths cross. We've just had 2 months in Antalya, off to Albania for 2 months next week. Also we are travelling with our 86 year old mother for 2 years...... We've had to work really hard on not burning out 😂
great awesome video guys quick question I noticed you guys love the streeet food and I think that is great and a great cultural expirence however are there public bathroom available BTW I love my beer thats the reason for the question LOL thanks guys LOVE THE VIDEO's
YES!! There are clean public restrooms all along the beach for those of us that enjoy our beer!! And they are free!!! Great question, Jeff. Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!🍻
I thought Ba Na hill was a very pleasant destination. First off when I was there it was very hot in Da Nang so Ba Na was a cool relief. Secondly, the place is large and there are different areas and at least when we were there pre-covid there was a wine bar next to the flower garden, excellent European food cooked by European chefs and lot of entertainement and busking. Seemed to have lot of activities for families with kids also. Maybe it's not up to same level entertainement now as before Covid, but if I get to go to Danang again, I wouldn't mind heading up there for a chill day.
Yes brings back memories marble mountain and the grand huge room amazing caves.. If you walk the whole thing it's about 500 steps up and down.. After all that walking we came back and could not find our scooter forgot where we parked exactly...🙏🙏
Oh, goodness - it's honestly no surprise with so many scooters around! I often wondered how we'd be able to keep track of one, we'd lose it for sure 😂.
Hello! I absolutely love your videos! They are incredibly inspiring, especially showing us budget travelers that it is possible to see the world. I’m hoping to visit Thailand and Vietnam next year. I’m really looking forward to seeing your monthly wrap up! I’m sure your videos take considerable time to produce, but I could have easily watched another hour! Such a beautiful place to visit. Curious where Thailand or Vietnam fall in your list of countries you’d consider more permanent for retirement. Have a wonderful week! :)
Thank you, Carol, for all the kind words. We are loving our time here and would put Da Nang up there with the Algarve in Portugal as a place to stay long-term. We have just arrived back in Southern Thailand to experience beach life here! We will have a Vietnam cost breakdown here in a few weeks and our Thailand video will be a little more detailed with the 2-month cost. Thank you again for watching and commenting. We appreciate the support. Cheers!🍻
Many people skip Hue, which I'm sad about as I'm all about historical stuff and ruins, which the Imperial City checks off. Go take a look at Alright Anton!'s videos as he has great drone shots. CularTravels had a great war tour guide for Hue in the DMZ area if you're into that. Also, Hue is known for it's food so if you can find a good food tour go on them ("Chase and Shelbs" showed a great restaurant). Some awesome food tours I saw were from MomDuty and "Flora and Note" in Hanoi, "Chase and Shelbs" in HCMC/Saigon, and "Steph and Pete" in Hoi An.
as someone that has visited da nang 8 times marble mountain is well worth the miss. it’s like a big rubbish moment and underwhelming but i always enjoy content creators trying to make fetch happen
Hi, Karl. We loved Vietnam so much we plan on going back in the spring of 2024. We are considering Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. We will also spend some time in Cambodia. It is a fun region and the cost of living is minimal. Thank you for watching our channel and commenting! Cheers!!🍻
@@BrianandCarrie Hi Brian and Carrie. I didn't expect a reply. It is appreciated. That region appears to be a hidden gem. We go to Spain quite alot, only because my wife has family there (we just got back from Burgos, and now we're going again in about a month to Barcelona...me for a week, my wife and kid for a month). I may be one of the few people who's tired of Barcelona. There's so much more to see in the world. I will continue to watch your channel and live vicariously through you. 🌏 Happy travels!🛫
Hi Brian & Carrie, My wife and I are flying into Bangkok in March and we are planning to go to Da Nang for a couple of weeks. We only have a total of 3 weeks and we would like to make the most of it . We also intend to go to Phuket and some islands as well but not sure the best way to go about it. Have you got any tips on which airports are the best to fly to and from and which way would you do it? We arrive on the 15th March until 5th April and would like to see some parts of Thailand but defiantly Da Nang and Hoi An.. Thank you so much, you have been very helpful in the past with your advice.
Hi! Bangkok is a great central point and fortunately both Da Nang and Phuket have airports. All of SE Asia was easy to get around by flights so I think you find it's best to just get on a plane to your next destination. Cheers!!
Hi, Shannon! You could easily spend 3-5 days and not run out of things to do. You will want to spend one night in Hoi An as well. It is only 30 minutes away but staying the night was inexpensive and well worth it. Thank you for watching and following our channel!! Cheers!!🍻
Great video and narrative about Da Nang. Will even check out your video about Hoi An. You mentioned rainy and cloudy weather, which month were you in Da Nang?
Love your videos! Looking forward to a trip to Thailand and Vietnam this summer… Wondering if you could share a little about how you booked your flights in between locations? App? Website? Booking app? Did you book them far in advance? Thanks so much for the tips!
I'm happy to see that Da Nang has come along way. When I lived in Vietnam, it was just a airport stop to get to Hoi An. No one ever seemed interested in the city itself.
It is a beautiful city!! There is a lot of new construction going on as well so it will be even more touristy in the years to come. Thank you for watching! Cheers!!🍻
To think during the war, there were 2 Marine outposts on top of Marble Mountain…..there were firefights almost every night, red and green tracers provided a light show.
I was at Marble Mountain in December 2019 and it was raining, the steps were like glass, crazy slippery and there are very few things to hold on to -- not much fun and no view as it was too foggy. If this was in another country it would be closed for safety. just part of being in Vietnam!!!
Another terrific and informative video. In your travels this year you have seen a lot of templates and outdoor markets/food. How do you compare Viet nam with Thailand? Which has been your most memorable temple? Which food has been most surprising and enjoyable for you? What are you missing from North American or Europe eats? I would agree on hitting a beach on a sunny day after a period of overcast and rain. Cheers to you both.
Hi, Robert! We are planning on doing a Vietnam Vs Thailand video in the coming months, but, just between us 😉 we love Thia food!! 😀 We love Khao soi. The temple that we enjoyed the most was Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. That is the video we did with Hannah and Trey from Probably Lost. They just released a video with that temple and a few others featuring us!!! 😀 The food that we miss is good ole BBQ! Looking forward to smoking up some ribs when we get home!! Thank you, Robert, for all your support!! Cheers!!🍻
Brian & Carrie, question: when you were in Vietnam, to get Dong did you find that use of say your Schwab card worked at ATMs in Dang Nang or Hoi An? In other videos you have mentioned that Vietnam is cash-based mostly around town, so I wonder if you used ATMs which are connected to a bank there, or....? Thanks.
Hi Brian and Carrie. Great video! Hubby and me love dogs. I see so many in Pa nang and Vietnam. How is it they get by for water and food generally ? And how, in your experience, are they treated by locals and are there any rescues that you know of? Many thx.
From our experience, there were only a few times I saw a dog that was quite skinny. The rest of the time, they all seemed fairly well-fed. Not sure if this came from owners or simply getting food from the streets. Never did we run into any dogs that were aggressive or mean or see them being mistreated.
First time watching your channel, great content! Some I saw seems like drone footages. Did you have any problem bringing or flying drone in VN at all, specifically in Da Nang? I heard drones are prohibited there, and may get confiscated if you bring one (at leat when flew in by plane that I heard) . Curious because I will be traveling to VN at the end of May next month and plan on visiting Da Nang. So many changes in VN since I was there last time which was back in 2010, LOL. Feels like I'm a complete stranger when I'm going there this time 😂. Any input is much appreciated. Also, I just liked and subscribed.
Hi, Kevin. We actually don't use a drone for the reasons you mention. In addition, packing one around the world isn't something we won't do. We use Canva, a paid service that we get stock footage from. We did a video not too long ago about our process of how we shoot and produce all of our videos. here is the link. Thank you for watching! Cheers!!🍻 th-cam.com/video/JQ5YY_fBecM/w-d-xo.html
@@BrianandCarrie Appreciate your response, Brian & Carrie. I'm not a content creator by any means. I just love to take videos and pictures everywhere I go. Especially now that I have a drone, it would be cool to get some aerial footages while I'm traveling. Guess I'll have to do some more research about bringing a drone to Da Nang. Haven't really gotten any straight answer about it. Some say they never had any issues with drone in VN, but it might just be luck. 😂
We always look forward to your videos. Great tips & advice. Please advise us about your streaming stick. Have you been able to use it in all countries without any problems? We have Roku but are not sure if it will work or is Firestick a better option for Europe? You've mentioned that Netflix works but how about other channels? Would greatly appreciate your input. Happy adventures to you.😎
We have used our Firestick in every location we travel to without issue. Some platforms will require you to have a VPN running for the US, but with that, they have all worked just fine for us. If you need a VPN there is a link in the description to the VPN we use - they are very inexpensive and much needed when traveling for so much you will do from streaming to banking. Thanks so much for watching! Cheers 🍻
I have been watching quite a few videos on visiting Vietnam. I have yet to hear anyone mention tipping. As you know, here in the US, everyone expects a tip these days. I haven’t heard any comments about it in Vietnam. There are lots of breakdowns of food and drinks costs, but tipping isn’t mentioned.
We went to one sit down restaurant while in Vietnam and the server pointing to the bottom of the menu that stated a 10% gratuity will be added to the bill. He asked us if that was, ok? 😊
Hi Brian and Carrie I’m really interested in finding the apartment you stayed at in My A but the link provided in your total cost video doesn’t seem to have the exact place. Was that something you could share with me? Just looking for the name or a link of the property there. Love your videos!
Hi! We don't share our Airbnb links any longer due to multiple reasons. The link we shared is for the area we stayed in the My An area, which we highly recommend. Cheers
@@BrianandCarrie thank you. I think Vietnam is tricky weather-wise. My reading suggests the north (Hanoi and Halong Bay) is good in October, the middle (Da Nang, Hoi An) is best around June-July and the south (Siagon) at December.

Cheers!!🍻
Awesome video. I’ll be back in Da Nang next month. Can’t wait
Thanks so much for watching ☺️
Another great video! You guys get the right amount of content that applies to those choosing to visit. Keep living your best and fullest life!
Thank you, Eddie! We loved Da Nang!!
Cheers!!❤
Great video! I love Danang!
Thank you so much for watching, Cong!!
Cheers!🍻
Great video Brian and Carrie! Miss seeing you guys by the pool. Haha. Take care and stay safe!
HA!! Thank you, Steve!! We had a great time in Da Nang!! Safe travels to you as well!!
Cheers!!🍻
You’re so lucky to have sun. It rained for our whole trip😢
That's too bad! 😒We only got a few days but at least we got something!! Thank you for watching!!!
Cheers!!🍻
Can’t wait to see where you go next 😀
Great Videos. Any plans for a visit to Hue? I see many videos that say its a must see day trip from Danang, along with Hoi An.
Hi, April. We did not make it to Hue, however, we did spend a couple of days in Hoi An and had a great time. Thank you for watching.
Cheers!!🍻
We will most likely be in Hue sometime next spring. We are still trying to figure out what direction we want to go.
as someone that has visited da nang 8 times marble mountain is well worth the miss. it’s like a big rubbish moment and underwhelming but i always enjoy content creators trying to make fetch happen
Thank you for watching and commenting Dimitri.
Cheere!
Going for two weeks jn August and the month of November. Can't wait!!
You'll have a great time, Bruce! Thank you for watching and safe travels!
Cheers!!🍻
a really good revue getting down to the nitty gritty.
Thank you for watching, Stephen.
Cheers 🍻
Cool place. I never ever thought to visit Danang, much less Vietnam. But, I am giving it strong consideration.
Thank you, Karl!! Safe travels to you as well!
Must be so relax leaving the western life😊
Da Nang is so beautiful! I have liked and subscribed! :)
Thank you! We very much appreciate the support!
Cheers!!🍻
Hi Brian & Carrie,
My wife and I are flying into Bangkok in March and we are planning to go to Da Nang for a couple of weeks.
Cheers!!
Great video . ...Thank you guys.
This place has been added to my bucket list! Loved this video! How many days would you recommend in this area?
Hi, Shannon! You could easily spend 3-5 days and not run out of things to do. You will want to spend one night in Hoi An as well. It is only 30 minutes away but staying the night was inexpensive and well worth it. Thank you for watching and following our channel!!
Cheers!!🍻
Great video and narrative about Da Nang. Will even check out your video about Hoi An. You mentioned rainy and cloudy weather, which month were you in Da Nang?
Thank you! We were in Da Nang in Feb to early March. It was getting much nicer as we were leaving.
Thanks for visiting my beautiful country.
You should vísit Nha Trang , the beach city.👍💕
Thank you for watching, Dao! We won't make it to Nha Trang this year, but we plan to return next year!! ❤
Happy to see you in my hometown
We had a great time in Da Nang. We plan on returning to Vietnam next year to explore more of your beautiful country. Thank you for watching! ❤
You guys sure love your cerveza! 😊
We do! It’s a good way to cool off in the heat! 🍻 😁
nothing better than having a beer on a hot humid day !
We would agree with that!!😃
Cheers!!🍻
Love your videos! Looking forward to a trip to Thailand and Vietnam this summer… Wondering if you could share a little about how you booked your flights in between locations? App? Website? Booking app? Did you book them far in advance? Thanks so much for the tips!
Thank you! Great suggestion - we will be doing a video/podcast very soon on this.
Glad that you love Danang! Wish you have great time here in Vietnam! Cheers from Hanoi❤️
We had a great time in Hanoi and loved being in Da Nang as well. Thank you for watching and commenting, Hung.
Cheers!!🍻
Excellent video. You have a new subscriber 😊
Thank you so much, we really appreciate the support!
Cheers!!🍻
We will be there with our two kids in 2 weeks - can you tell me how the mosquito situation is? It’s my only concern right now. Thanks
We did not experience any mosquitos, so you will have a fantastic time. Safe travels and thank you for watching!!
Cheers!!🍻
Will visit this place next time.
It's a wonderful city and a great place to visit or stay for an extended stretch! Thanks so much for watching - Cheers 🍻
Cheers!!🍻
You guys are amazing in the city I love❤🎉
We loved being there Khanh! Such a beautiful city. Thank you for watching. ❤
Thank you so much for watching 😊
To think during the war, there were 2 Marine outposts on top of Marble Mountain…..there were firefights almost every night, red and green tracers provided a light show.
Very interesting, thank you for sharing ☺️
Thanks for the great video. Is the night market and Dragon show every evening?
The dragon show is every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night starting at 9:00 pm. Thank you for watching!
Cheers!!🍻
Cheers!!🍻
What time of the year was it? This is a fantastic resource! Headed there soon!
We were there late February to early March. Thank you so much for watching!! 😊
I liked the fact that you mention tiny details .. not fancy and fake unlike these days travel vloggers do ..
Thank you so much for watching!! 😊
Yeah bugger the monkeys, was bitten in Bali & had to have rabie shots 🤦♀️ Thanks guys another great video.
OUCH!!! 😳 We have heard that they can be aggressive, so we kept our distance. Thank you for watching!
Thanks.
Hi! Yes, we took cash out with the ATM using our US based card. Cheers!
What a great place and different from Hanoi and Saigon :o
Thank you for watching!!
It is really hard to say. It may depend on the border agent. Check the Government web site, it may have some answers.
Cheers 🍻
Forgot to ask, are using your Firestick with your laptop only or are connecting it to a TV port? Again, thank you for this info.😊
We connect it to the TV in our Airbnb or hotel.
A nice video
Thank you!!
Going tomorrow!!
Try East West Brewery on the beach!!
We will if we make it back here 😊. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hello! I am loving your videos! How many days did you spend in Danang?
Hi, Rhonda. We spent 24 days in Da Nang and 2 days in Hoi An halfway through our stay. Loved the area! Thank you for watching!
Cheers 🍻
great video are there showers and toilet facilities on the beaches?
Yes, the main beach has showers and toilets.
@@BrianandCarrie thats great in Greece one has to pay for these facilities

Hi Brian and Carrie
I’m really interested in finding the apartment you stayed at in My A but the link provided in your total cost video doesn’t seem to have the exact place. Was that something you could share with me? Just looking for the name or a link of the property there. Love your videos!
Hi! We don't share our Airbnb links any longer due to multiple reasons. The link we shared is for the area we stayed in the My An area, which we highly recommend. Cheers
@@BrianandCarrie Thanks for responding. I totally understand. Safe travels to you both. Cheers
Respect 🇻🇳😊
Thank you!!
great vlog - thanks. what month were you there?
We were there from mid-Feb. to the first week in March. The weather really improved about the time that we left. 😄
@@BrianandCarrie thank you. I think Vietnam is tricky weather-wise. My reading suggests the north (Hanoi and Halong Bay) is good in October, the middle (Da Nang, Hoi An) is best around June-July and the south (Siagon) at December.
To which beach bar did you went? I could not find the name 🙈 we are now just in Da Nang 🙃
We can't remember the name but it is right on the main strip. Have a great time and happy travels!! 😀
