On the other hand, low budget doesn't have to mean bad, it gets bad when the production gets lazy. It's also easier to do horror or drama on a budget, sci fi action is harder to pull off. Speaking of X-Men like TV Shows, you should check out a TV series from early 2000 called Mutant-X. Mutant X is a science fiction television series created under a Marvel Comics license, but with no connection to the Mutant X comic book series. It debuted in first-run syndication on October 6, 2001. The show was created by Avi Arad, and it centers on Mutant X, a team of "new mutants" who possess extraordinary powers as a result of genetic engineering. The members of Mutant X were used as test subjects in a series of covert government experiments. The mission of Mutant X is to seek out and protect their fellow new mutants. The series was filmed in Toronto, Canada.
I love the Gen X comics to this day. This movie is such a damn letdown. I was happy to have anything X-Men related at the time, but this has aged the worst out of any of the film/TV adaptations.
I remember watching this when it came out. I watched the 1st 30 to 45 minutes & gave up. I once saw the guy playing Angelo in a episode of New York Undercover with Earth Kitt playing his princepal.

I think the director did The Hidden and the parallels with this and his own Freddy's Revenge is pretty on brand. Jack Shoulder I dunno who wrote this but this was tonally so off whiplash occurs within 5 minutes of each scene
Every time Billy and Martin laugh, an angel gets their wings (and a fedora).

Mutant X

Adventure inc
Vip
