Mid-Hants Railway 'Farewell 45379' - 09/09/18

With Black 5 45379's boiler ticket running out and her final runs being confirmed as the 8th & 9th of September I decided to go down to the MHR to capture some footage of her last run. She certainly went out in style!

Excellent video to say goodbye for 45379 in action mate 😉👍 The Mid Hants won't be the same without this amazing and incredible Black Five Class on the final weekend in operation service which will be very sad to miss 🙁☹️😭

It’s sad when a boiler ticket runs out. It takes years till they are back. And it’s always the engines I love that are out of service too.

Certainly is sad. This one could be quite a while too as there is a big queue infront of her!

Wow that 10 years has flown by i can still remember when the watercress first acquired 45379 from avon valley. Going to have a long rest for now with the size of the overhaul queue at ropley at the moment

Hello yes, the engine is not leaving the railway but its boiler ticket has run out meaning it needs a full overhaul. Currently the railway has probably about six other locos being overhauled before this one because its at the back of the overhaul queue so it may be many years until she runs again!
