      Me too, for my Birthday age 60 five years ago. It was BRILLIANT. I think it was the same Driver, Dave Pallett. I love the firebox doors on this loco, they are very easy to operate. Imagine the crews that drove these at 80mph through Kent on heavy expresses.... now that's what I'd call real jobs! Fireman Ian Giles showed us how to use a shovel so that the coal would reach the front easily. It's a knack! You push the dandle down towards the floor using your right fist as the fulcrum... and hey ho... the coal just flies off the blade with little effort. Do it wrong and you are soon huffing and puffing. I like your Fireman's reference to imagining a window in the backhead (for visualisation of the fire). I didn't know about that! Tacit skills eh?!
      The exhaust steam injector was playing up a bit on the day but the vacuum brake is a delight... 15 inches of vac holds the train nice and steady going down the banks. Wonderful loco. Maunsel got it just right.

      @@johnambler3107 I noticed that trainee driver did not blow the whistle when they got right away from the Gaurd.

      @@eliotreader8220 That’s because of the house’s around the station complain about the noise from the whistle during week days.
