      My 4th was misfiring, everything fixed according to code and now runs worse which they never seen before. I know they added fuel or injector cleaner on an empty tank and seen it run worse at first before but this seems different.

    Hi serge had you had a chance to check the fuel rail residual pressure before removing the intake ? I personally like to do this test with a cold engine because with a hot engine the fuel pressure all ways goes up in not in a long time I usually test them for 10 to 15 min and the rail pressure should drop a bit compared to idle but not drop too fast I remember seeing a Audi TSB for the 3.2 v6 engine I follow the same specs for the 2.0l and it serve me well then again I do this test with a cold engine I start it and let it run 10 seconds then shut it off and turn the key on and observe the rail pressure and see if any injectors are leaking i also like to clean the injectors tips when I’m reusing them I use throttle body cleaner and a plastic brush or brass I think the car runs better afterwards including the intake valve service anyway can’t wait for part deux.

    • @EDGEMOTORS
      @EDGEMOTORS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No I didn’t, so far all the injectors that I have seen leaking, were leaking so much that I would start the car cold, turn it off right the way and take spark plugs out and see which one is leaking... this one didn’t do that:)

    Should I take out the fuel pump fuse before I do this test? I'm actually trying to get oil in the system before I start the car, I just did the timing and it sat for awhile before I finished the job. What do you think the best way to make sure the system is properly lubricated (primed) before I start it up? Great video again! Cheers

    While I don’t have one I am trying to help my neighbor who has a 2009 Audi A4 2.0T . She has CEL codes showing $7E8 & $7E9. Shakes when idling, Runs really rough. I haven’t driven it yet, but she says also has lost lots of Power. Poss PCV & PRV Valve?
    I’ve read up this could be the problem in lieu of Spark Plugs, Coil Pack, which is what I was thinking it was.
    I’m not a “mechanic” but a big DIYer that has worked on many vehicles, but never an Audi. My OBDII/EOBD scanner I am using is a CenTech Deluxe, which also shows live sensor data. While It’s not a Snap On or even close, it’s been able to diagnose & solve many problems from many diff makes of vehicles. Unfortunately, she is a bit strapped for $ so, trying to help her out. If Spark Plugs, how easily are they to change? Also what gap & kind? I recently just checked my coil pack & changed my spark plugs on a 2003 Jeep Wrangler that was having misfire probs. I upgraded to Iridium plugs in my Jeep.
    Should I try to reset her codes 1st & see if it has a misfire code also come up, before diving into this problem? TIA, your knowledge is quite helpful.

The colder plugs and smaller gap reduced the regularity of it but still happens once or twice per drive

      Might be you fuel have higher octane rating then what it’s tuned for if you add octane boosters then it could randomly misfire and vise versa if octane is lower from what’s car is tuned for. I had misfire pretty bad on my a5 that’s got stage 2 with DP, CAI, big Intercooler even with bigger throttle body diameter and the issue was camshaft sensor put an old one I had laying around and misfires stopped.
