Tomowa-Sintow was an extraordinary Artist. Her Leonora's , her Violetta, were amongst the best I ever heard and saw. She is not given the recognition she deserves .She was one of the Great Sopranos of her time!
The BEST "Mira di acerbe lagrime" scene I've heard yet, phenomenal acting, Anna Tomowa-Sintow is majestic. Raferty's an excellent di Luna. I think this is the Lyric Opera of Chicago 1987 - 1988 season.
What a fantastic soprano. Beautiful voice. Fantastic performance. Just love her. With Rafferty with his beautiful baritone voice makes this a splendid performance.

Miss Tomowa - Sintow is an extraordinary artist. Her unique timbre, a real soprano spinto, is beautiful, that is why Verdi and Puccini ( among others ) sounds as they should.
More like a Strauss and Mozart soprano singing Verdi. She was good in a finite number of Verdi roles, but I never found her Italianate enough. Wonderfully versatile musician though.

+Alex Daniel Well there is plenty of feeling for Verdian style here. The voice is full toned and expansive. On this form I would be very happy to listen to her singing any of the early and more florid Verdi roles
@@Tenortalker I heard her twice, in Chicago and in a Recital in Paris.. she was amazing.. did you get the chance to hear her live.. she had one of the largest voices I ever heard.
Tomowa-Sintow wie nicht von dieser Welt. Himmlisch!!! Patrick Rafterty glänzend viril. (Hab's nach einiger Zeit wieder einmal gehört, und dass es so etwas Einzigartiges einmal gegeben hat und man es immer wieder nach-erleben darf, ist ein Trost für's Gemüt.)
@@fabriziogarzi9892 infatti, qualcuno... la voce non era male, timbro gradevole ma aveva delle lacune tecniche quindi da qui a osannarla come un soprano eccelso ce ne passa... me ne vengono in mente una decina al suo livello nella seconda metà del secolo scorso...
@@numetutelare , ma questo sicuramente. Era un soprano che dava una certa sicurezza, indipendentemente da lacune tecniche magari non troppo vistose e lei mai s'e' messa cose "istrane pel capo". Sicuramente la migliore tra le bulgare( Kabaivabska e Dimitrova..quest'ultima fin troppo osannata che pero' io trovavo molto grezza). Cordialissimi saluti.

I always come back to this. She is absolutely divine. My inspiration for Leonora. I'm currently working on this duet now and must say it's the most fun I've had in a long time! My most humble thanks to the Grand Master of Opera, Verdi, for creating such sublime music.
