- What’s going on guys! This video is going to cover a lot of the BS i’ve been going through for the past couple weeks and give insight to newer drivers about the pay and hiring process (specifically drug testing) here at swift! I’ll also go over the new position i have taken in trucking!

The hair folical test is NOT a FMCSA DOT test and is only for company use. With that said, the FMCSA is working on details to find if it will be a future reportable test result. If you fail a hair folical test currently, it is NOT reported to FMCSA... only a urine screen is reported. And if your friend does not believe me, he can log in to the Clearinghouse and look at his results... none will be found unless they failed a urine screen.

What if I fail the hair test but pass the urine test, will they still hire me ?
@@negronmax8 no… the company will not hire you.
My Recruter told me that if you fail the hair test they are obligated to send the results to the clearinghouse. And that will affect you maintaining your CDL. It is best for you to do an independent test prior to doing the one for swift. That is why I haven’t went to orientation yet.

As of right now im hearing that the clearing house will not accept hair folicle test results. Im not sure how to definitively verify this.

@@AtoBTransport your recruiter lied because as of right now hair follicle test are not dot regulated only urine is,but the mega carriers are really trying to push it
Hair test can't be used as dot testing yet and can't be reported to cleaning house. But they are working on changing that

I make $1,800 a week hauling hazmat tanker loads get to go home every night I’m happy where I’m at. I’m glad I left Swift they always give you the run around when it comes to them paying you.

I went to take a personal hair test it came back negative it was sent off to labcorp
You have the wrong attitude coming into swift brother you need to be available to work 24 hours a day 7 days a week to get any of the dispatchers to take you seriously I work for swift dedicated pulling bare minimum 1250 a week when I want to work really hard around 1600 but being worried about having weekends off and being confrontational with your dispatchers will put you way down on there priority list because each dispatcher has 100 or more drivers there working with and there just going to deal with the ones that do what they what them to when they want them to do it you can make good money as a company driver for swift over 2 to 3k a week you just need to learn how to play the system and make your dispatchers love you. Hope it helps this is coming from a driver that’s approaching 4 years with swift I promise the money is here you just need to fight for it a little in a productive way
i appreciate the advice. when i was hired i was told i could make the money they advertised working five days, it’s the only reason i took the job as i don’t have a childcare situation for my kids yet. i plan to, just not yet. i understand you can make money if you run every single day. i get that. when a recruiter tells you that you can do it in 5 days, that’s where it’s aggravating. i understand their job is to get you in the door, but there should be truth in that . trust me man, you watch any of my other videos, i am excited to be here and learn. but this is also my platform to vent and talk about things that happen to me from week to week. not meant to be seen as a negative mindset and i apologize if it was seen as such

As a 30 year veteran I can honestly say he isn't going to make it he complains way to much if it's loading or unloading wants to be home every weekend and this KID wants to be an o/o he will fail miserablely
@@buckking1162 while I respect your negative opinion, if you watch some of my older videos I have made it very clear that this is a review channel. If you don’t know what that means, I will explain it. That means that I’m going to give my feedback as often as possible whether it’s positive or negative, so people coming into this industry have a full understanding of all the pros and all the cons. Now you saying you have 30 years of experience makes me think you’re probably a little older. Which has me confused on why you’re taking so much time out of your day to post on all of my videos. Again I respect your opinion, but I’m not going to fail. Unless this just does not work for me. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Thank you for your advice
Putting yoursef on duty for everything will eat away at your 70 hour clock. Which will affect how many miles you can get
Dedicated is where its at in swift, i made no money otr, im on walmart account now and my lowest pay check i get is 1500 gross

@@AtoBTransport consider pizza delivery on the side until you get a higher paying position. My average day at pizza hut is $22/hr. A busy day: $36/hr. A slow day: $16/hr. (This is cumulative: hourly+tips)

Question . I’m looking into getting my CDL . And getting into swift . I smoked weed a couple months ago at a party . Would I have to wait the whole 6x months to be sober then apply ??? It’s been like 3 months already idk if that’s good enough
i don’t know if i can give you a solid answer on that. my partner was about where you’re out and he didn’t pass. but also if it was just a little bit i’m not too sure if it would show. but i would wait to play it safe

I’m in New York Brooklyn and my terminal in Syracuse and didn’t need 3 months for a target dedicated account I got my foot in the door the first day I started
@@evv9416 really?! i had a buddy that went through CDL school with me that did the same thing. the problem i’m running into rn is there is a freight shortage in AZ for target account so they’re not bringing on any more drivers yet

they take hair from you and test the follicle for drugs. supposedly goes back 5-6 months

hey Amigo thank you for your video appreciated!! I'm having issues getting a regular job, ever since the pandemic hit I cant seem to get call and I'm in a very desperate situation as of now, because due to the fact that I stopped working since march of 2020!!! I have been studying the CDL book and I'm in the state of Kansas which most likely I will go to a Kansas city terminal, but winter is approaching now and its only gonna get colder, and I was wondering if I decide go by end of November 2022 or December 2022 due to the facts that I got to take care of some personal issues now!! Will I fail because it is gonna be cold outside and I been reading that you spend quite a few hours outside practicing!! what's your best advice if I do make the move in these 2 coming months or should I wait till spring of 2023!!! one more question do you get paid your week after arriving in orientation? and another question should I get my state CDL permit also? or do I just skip for now and just study the CDL book? Thank you!!!!
the academy should help you with your permit! i don’t think you’ll fail for weather. if this is something you really wanna do i’d see it through but i understand needing a job. times are tough right now, i wish you the best of luck

If your not happy at swift just go somewhere else if you think running dedicated will make things better your wrong
i know for a fact on paper it will. not gonna leave a company because of a couple bad paychecks and bad loads? gonna try and see another department that may work better for me. if we still can’t figure something out than we’ll go from there but it’s not the smartest thing to just quit the second you don’t like something about a company . at least in my opinion
@@AtoBTransport I hope you can work it out fir you but running so close to home it's harder and it doesn't always work out I know they say pay this home time that but it doesn't always workout that way I would know I've been with swift since 2009
