Got a little tip for you when you have to use an Alan key to run bolts in one handed. Turn your hand palm up, Hold the long side between your index and ring finger with the short end of the Allen key on the palm side of your fingers, then use your thumb to rotate the short end of the key whilst pressing down at the same time to form a depression into your thumb to retain the Allen key and stop the key slipping out the fastener. Hope it makes sense. Cheers for taking us along for the ride dude! All the best!
Any chance next time you do a bench assembly you could rig a fixed overhead camera? Got some motion sickness from the point of view perspective sped up
Seems that went together better than a lot of the GT40 has, a little grease on the bearings and proper head and manifold torque down procedure probably wouldn't hurt either ... cheers
Yes my thoughts exactly! I cringed so much as those head bolts got tightened down 😂 And I'm no expert on model engines but I'm assuming the grease you use during assembly is probably the only lubrication those bearings will ever get 😳
G'day Nate, I did grease the top end before fitting the valve covers. The bottom end I applied some oil afterwards just for the initial starting. Once it's running, the nitro fuel will lubricate the bottom end. A video getting the engine set and running will be coming out soon.
I actually have the supercharger, but I want to get the stock engine running first, just been a bit time poor lately so haven't got back to it. Hoping to get it started soon, and then I'll install the supercharger.
My hopefully constructive criticism is: “Speeding up the process” should really only be after each steps description, skipping that description makes it only really entertaining and not as educational as it could be, as per your other videos. Overall though, I will eventually buy one though, I’m sold👌🏼
I could NOT stop screaming at you for NOT using any oil whatsoever. I could tell you were wondering why the crankshaft was so hard to turn over, again some fukin oil wud av helped. Even a tiny bit of OIL would have helped hold things whilst assembling.
Bit if prelub would be a good thing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be sure to give it a go next time. It was quite awkward with all those little screws!
So instead of a space-saver spare tyre, you've madfe a space saver spare engine. Cool!!!!!!
Cool project Dan thanks have a great weekend

Thanks for the feedback Mark. Will take that onboard.
I'd say it just as much fun to watch the Toyan build as full sized V8 👍
I very much enjoy watching you work
How do you adjust the value timing and the the ignition timing I can't seem to find any information on it

What about lubrication and torques? Do you plan on running the engine?

Should put the toyan supercharger on it.

Great fun Dan.... Not going for a start up?? :-))
There will be one more installment in the 3 part series, which will be setting up the starter kit and getting it started!
@@BuiltbyDan And then to find a Chassis to put it in.... :-))

Looks so cool, and would be a blast to assemble one. But it would require 'next level' disposable income, to afford such 'toys'.

Who assembles a engine WITH NO Assembly LUBE and Locktite!!! A No-No if you want it to run and LAST!!! Boy Oh Boy......
Be advised a ford guy is telling you the quality is good!!!
