Wow it cooked the rice perfectly. There’s not congealed together or burnt. I’m very impressed. It’s hard to get rice JUST right when cooking over gas. Russel hobs generally produce sturdy products and this looks like one of them. It’ll make for a great present for those who struggle to cook lol😁. Thanks for another solid video
there is a measurements marked in the rice cooker itself, obviously if you put 5 cups, definitely just put water same level to 5 in the rice cooker. You no need to use the cups to measure the water...
Nice looking rice, looks perfect. Does the (I'm using the Russell Hobbs 27030 1.2L Rice Cooker and Steamer) instructions not say yes use the cup to measure the rice, but not for the water as it says to fill the bowl (with rise already in there) to the matching rice cup number level? I realise this could basically be the same amount o water but I ask as the instructions don't mention measuring water by the cup load. Also just to ask are you measuring the cups of rice dried before washing it?
Hi-The manual shows doferent kinds of food and time for cooking. But I don't see how to set up time. How she manege the time for the diferent kind of food, potatoes, choken, ? Thanks so much. I order one and witing for tit.
When the rice is done and the amber light switches on. Then after letting it rest, do you just turn the switch on the back off and then the main switch off and unplug?
Great video thanks. I am waiting for a smaller model to arrive next week and this video is helpful. I think I will have to add a little salt to the rice and water mix and then let it cook.
I found and watched this video because I got a brand new in the box air core walk away 3 quart cooker and I got it because a guy was wanting to cook rice on a stove cuz "it takes a long time" and I said "Why would it take a long time on a stove top; just put it in the thing in a vacuum pot and cook it passively!" The guy, is like basically wanting to live off grid right? So, like very little electricity and you know everything's got to be either low electric power, or stove top so I started looking at r problem and I had known about and bought many an "Air Core Walk away Cooker" So I got another one, 3 Qt. And This guy got a six quart, then I just got one for a friend, the third one in just a few weeks... and it had the original box and original, (I kid you not!) VHS video tape (found on eBay once on a while for like $30.00!) in it but was made by Russell Hobbs the same people that make this rice closer in this video, so they took their rice cooker system into a whole set of cookware full 20 piece cookware set and I'd love to get one I saw one on eBay recently but they they have a vacuum double wall vacuum so are a thermos heater basically so you just put your rice in put your water in let it sit and it has cooked perfectly about I think it took about 20 minutes, funny remember, but an hour tops for sure! I did a cup of rice and it was perfect, so, no, you don't have to use electricity to get perfect rice like this!!!:-) This company manufactured stove top rice slow cookers! That led me also to Thermal Cookers, which is what the Air Core Walk Away system is or was:-) actually :-( Thermos makes Shuttle Chefs and Tayama also. You heat up your rice or food could be a frozen chicken and a big pan then you put that pan inside an insulated vacuum sealed closable sealed container and a slow Cooks over a period of hours same thing at the Air Core Walk Away system does!!
This rice cooker is perfect! I use it only for me th-cam.com/users/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia and sometimes me and my friend so the small size is really great for counter space since we never need to make all that much. I have been using it now for about 2 months and it still works perfectly. I use it for both rice and vegetables (better for harder vegetables like green beans and carrots, it made my broccoli way too smoosh-y for my taste). It keeps your rice on keep warm automatically which I really like, and I’ve used a few of the settings, flash rice, white rice, brown rice, and steam, and they all work super well for me, although I don’t like smooshy rice so I’ll usually use flash rice. It’s super easy to clean either in dishwasher or hand wash, and it’s pretty easy to get rice out of the grooves by where the container comes out. I assume this one will last me a long time but if I ever need another I will definitely be getting this one again!
Thank you so much for your video! I was considering buying this particular rice cooker but i wasn't sure if it was a good product or not. Thank to your video i'll very likely choose this one, cause it seems very promising :)
Thank you, followed your instructions, perfect basmati rice (Tilda). I did 2 cups of rice and 3 cups of water. Even though I washed the rice thoroughly, it was boiling over, ubtil I removed the rubber bit from the steam hole. Great for small portions of rice, bur if rice is a main dish, I would say its enough for 4 people at 4 cups of rice...
First meal made in it yesterday, simple fried rice (Peas, Carrot, Chorizo, Potoato, Soy Sauce ~ all diced) Used Rice 1 for 1 with water (after rinse) Added folded cooked egg after 10 minute rest period. Cooked to perfection, look forward to try more challenging rice/steam dishes. Easy clean container and lid. Highly recommended
@@TommyT_ as a professional chef I can indeed confirm... Steamed rice is definitely not fried. I hope this helps you with your future rice experiences. Best of luck. Big aidzo
A bit? It's my first rice cooker and I have NO IDEA what to do. The "steamer baskett" as mentioned in this video... I have no idea what to do with it. It doesn't fit anywhere.
Funny you should say that because I was going to buy that exact model now I’ve watched your video I will purchase it from Amazon or Argos thank you for sharing mate obviously it must be one cup of water per one cup of rice ? At least you did not have an annoying American accent 😂
2:1 ratio is suggested for regular pots which lose half of the water as it evaporates during cooking. In case of instant pots and ricemakers most of the water remains inside (unless it has to be dumped due to excessive pressure)
I've heard great things about Russell Hobbs rice cooker and after buying it 2 weeks ago,I have to say I love how good the rice is everytime it comes out.
This is a great rice cooker but there’s no way this could serve 14 like they say it could, realistically it serves 5-6 small portions with sides dishes or 4 portions with just a main dish with it, unless they meant child portions.

The rice is getting really foamy and it goes up to the top so I have to remove the cap for a second or two
Russell Hobbs must be Black and Decker in England.

My rice cooker is spitting the water out through the pressure hole.any solution?!!
Sorry to hear that, you should contact the manufacturer.
Great review but can I just confirm, it is 4 cups of rice to 4 cups water? Just that I was always told eg 2 cups rice to 4 cups water?
Yeah for this it's 4 cups rice 4 cups water.
