Heirloom recolors are good in theory of customizing a legends heirloom.........but making it so it's the same price and owners of the original get NO DISCOUNT, that just shows how cheap and lazy they are
Spending Exotic Shards to customize the colour of heirlooms would've been WAY better than what we have today. But no... profiting is way more important than their fanbase

Okay, I have had Heirloom tokens since the end of Season 15. Imagine my excitement when they leaked an heirloom for my main since release, Newcastle. Now imagine my outrage when they scrap ALL Legend specific heirlooms just as my favorite Legend was about to get his. It's even MORE unfair for the Maggie mains, who've been waiting around 3 months longer.
As a Maggie main, I fear I will be waiting for years to come 😭

Heirlooms now have nothing to do with the game, even less with legends. The recolours were just a ripoff and trying to recycle stuff for money. And then universal heirlooms just reached the peak hilarious dumb ideia. Really excited to see Respawn add stickers for heirlooms. Greatest L in history

It's so crazy seeing this game die before my eyes. It's very simple to bring more people back.
1. Legend specific heirlooms
2. Bring back arenas (doesnt have to be ranked, just bring it back, as the arenas community is huge)
3. Maybe be quicker with releases.
Those 3 could literally bring in hundreds.
The reason is simple, all of the popular characters have heirlooms already. Why would they create more character unique heirlooms for unpopular characters when they can make more money making universal heirlooms.
It’s not even that it’s the principal there’s characters that are about to be in the game for three years next year and if they don’t get an heirloom that just looks weird three years right now Maggie and Newcastle are on the list for the longest wait on getting an heirloom. The next character on that list is going to be vantageat the end of next season.

I like the cobalt katar + several legend-specific heirlooms, but honestly i feel like some of the heirlooms are L’s and even the new Serpent’s Sting is an L, so im happy i spent my mythic shards on the Cobalt Katar
The people that spend money on heirlooms are the ones that already have heirlooms for all their favourite characters. Which is probably why universal heirlooms sell better. Sucks for those that want an heirloom for their main, but makes sense for EA to make more profit
Still ridiculous. They should be thinking about everyone having a unique heirloom before making universal ones just for the fact of doing what's fair and right. But money rules all🥲
I’m a week 1, season 1 player.
I’ve bought and finished EVERY season since 1.
In over 5 years. I have 1 heirloom. And I had to pay for it.
That was 3 years ago. I’ve opened and bought 50 more packs in the last couples of years and still nothing.
It’s broken. I’m like level 1,700 with thousands of hours played.
Shouldn’t take me literally 120 years to organically open all the heirlooms.
And they wonder why people don’t grind anymore.
I’m a 3x master. I stoped grinding after getting nothing!
I should get an heirloom if I hit masters. It takes hours on hours to hit that mark! Reward me with a $300 item.
I’ve prolly played $60k worth of my time and they keep giving me white mozambeak skins.
Game is dry and I barley play now.
That's tough, mate! I started playing in 2022 but took a break until mid-2023. I got back in April 2024, and now I’m grinding all day. I finally got my first heirloom at level 133!
They might have reduced the odds to get a heirloom in packages after your first.... I am on the same boat as you, got my only heirloom a couple of years back and then nothing despite opening hundreds of packs, even legendary items seems more scarce now.
You definitely shouldn’t be entitled to expensive item because of masters considering half of that “high skill” ceiling is cheating in some form or fashion. Besides that being literally the worst way possible to reward an insanely small portion of the playerbase, they just need to increase pull rates and give one pack per lvl up.
You aren’t the only one with thousands of hours and only one loom to show for it, don’t act special lol
I started day 1. I have 2 so far. Boxing gloves and katar. I usually save up all my packs to open at a later date. I usually buy the monthly $10 apex pack bundle that includes a charm and 10-12 packs. Occasionally having specials of more packs. That has allowed me to get the 2 and I'm pretty sure the 3rd is near by. It does suck that you aren't getting more. Keep track of how many packs you have opened. It does help me to do massive 100+ packs in one session. I feel like it increases my chances. Good luck.

The community literally doesn’t know what they want lol. Always looking for something to complain. A couple years ago I remember the crowd was crying about legend specific heirlooms “Oh why don’t they make these heirlooms universal? I’d love to equip Wraith Kunai on Horizon” And now we have universal heirlooms and people want legend specific heirlooms back.

I will have 1000 saved apex packs, and they would still not release Maggie-s heirloom. If any dev red this and you run out of ideas for her, just make chains as her heirlooms so they can still show up while holding a shotgun.
It’s insulting that there’s “milestones” to how much money is spent on the game and nothing for actually playing the game. All you get for gameplay “milestones” are irrelevant badges
i think heirlooms should be easier to get its a 1/500 chance and there are 20+ things to spend shards on,
Not a huge L since a) most legend specific heirloom designs are absolute trash or you'll need a specific taste to enjoy them. Like Wattson has a retail store scanner, Crypto has a toy nerf sword, and Ashe's nunchucks well nunchucks are just stupid in general but even more so when they look like two blue plastic lewd things chained together. b) They also don't have to be "on brand" with their quirky dumb characters. So we can have things like futuristic katanas, funny whips, or chainsaws without worrying about "would the latino/african/robot use a weapon such as this?" c) They apply to every character. So if a character gets "reworked" and nerfed to the ground or doesn't feel the same you won't feel as bad switching to a different one.

Got 6 legend specific heirlooms they were really nice but they instantly got outshined as soon as I got the katar, the quality of legend specific heirloom is mediocre compared to the katar
What quality does the Katar have? It barely has animations, barebones and general, 0 personality or reference to the Apex Legends world. It also has a pretty bad spin/flip inspect.

Im truly done with universal heirlooms, though i do enjoy the new serpants sting one, id so much rather a new legend specific heirloom than a kolbart katar with "amazing" customizable features.
So in summary bring legend specific heirlooms back and quit with the milestone events no one likes them 😑

I like universal heirlooms as a player who wont spend money to get multiple because if metas change or I play a specific legend for a ranked comp, Ill have an heirloom
I guess I'm in the minority, I enjoy buying legend specific heirlooms. Universal heirlooms just aren't exciting.

The problem with heirlooms is that they handle poorly. Right off rip heirlooms should have their own banner frames, emotes, and finishers. I shouldn't have to buy a recolor for an emote. For universals to make worthwhile is making each legend have their own inspection, emotes, and finishers. Not copy and paste inspection that provides no substance.
For me, 1 Heirloom per Legend is more expensive than 1 universal heirloom. So people willing to spend 200 Bucks for each legend, but cry for universal heirloom for nearly same price (just wait 2 weeks and buy it with shards). So don't make any sense to me. And sure, there are some cool heirlooms for each Legend, but same amout of useless ones... So what is the whole point?
Apex has made a huge amount of money throughout this many seasons so insane too think about especially being a day one player
As long as content creators make videos about them, show them in every stream and every video, of course nothing will change. But this is nothing specific to Apex Legends content creators, it's a problem in a variety of games.

Let me explain you how I understand it. Imagine you are a Pathfinder main, and you see a "Ballistic" heirloom that can only be used by this legend that you barely play. And you are not alone, because Ballistic is played by 0.9% of the players. Do you really think a legend specific heirloom brings so much cash to EA or would it be a heirloom that can be used by any legend? I am a pathfinder main, and I absolutely hate his gloves. When they brought out the buster sword, I was so happy to get it in a pack during the event (yes, I'm a lucky one). And once they brought out the Katar, I couldn't resist but get it instead of the buster sword. As a business, they are doing exactly what players want, they are following their cash. As a business, you want to put in a little cost and get a lot of income, that's how it works. What I do not understand though, is that they do not make designer programs/deals and let random people design skins and heirlooms. They could get free designs, and remunerate the designer if their skins/heirlooms eventually sell.
It’s crazy to see that I will never ever get to experience all the heirlooms because there locked away behind a Mr krabs company (I have one heirloom with 18,000 kills on lifeline been playing since season 1 and my friend has 4 heirlooms and barely touches this game😢😥
I bought the space hunt event. This is my first universal heirloom lol and I was definitely confused as to why after I spent like $150 I didn’t have it yet. Because the price of legend specific ones is cheaper. And I found out the hard way instead of doing the math first. I assumed it was gonna be the same price 🤣🤣🤣
Im ngl, the cobalt katar is definitely overpriced as hell (most cosmetics are in gaming nowadays), but i dont really understand why people are upset about universal heirlooms
If i need to open 500 packs for an heirloom (or get really lucky), i would much rather use the mythic shards on an heirloom i can use with ANY legend AND customize it, than a single legend and you cant customize it (granted, i main legends that have not been popular until recently)
Also, yeah of course they make more money, for the sole reason that i can spend my precious mythic shards and get an heirloom for everyone rather than a single legend… that just makes sense

As a day one apex player who is very poor. Im torn when it comes to the universal herilooms. I still dont have an heirloom due to switching consoles, and like the idea of picking a universal so i can use it regardless of who im playing but man... It all still just feels so scummy
well damn, the heirlooms are supposed to reflect the legends personality, not their story, i think, so imo a chainsaw would be 10 times better as a maggie heirloom rather than fuse's severed arm, its loud, destructive, fire-y, and it just reflects on her perfectly, too bad respawn has gone greedy like every other fucking succesful corporation and is starting to ruin everything :c

listen I like universal heirlooms bc i think that spending 160 for a melee for one character is pretty scummy even by ea standards but these universal heirlooms are also just worse quality AND come part of the shitty milestone events. I think if universal heirlooms were the same quality as other ones and in regular collection events we wouldnt be complaining much
Universal heirlooms is a great idea in theory. But terrible in practice. I absolutely don't like old shovel like thing and this new saw like cubic thing with rgb light. And i ask 5 different people age 16-32, they don't like them eather. So in my bubble this universal heirlooms are a terrible idea.

I like but also hate that they are doing this I like having a heirloom I can use on all my legends but they can make specific ones even better instead of just the heirloom a banner and a voice line give em more maybe add a finisher possibly even throw in a really cool skin as well i know that wouldnt happen and would be selling for like 500$ in a event but it sounds nice plus they would get money still and thats what they want the most then again they can also bring people in without changing a thing in the game if they just fix other problems and stop adding new ones with every update they push out.
