Wow, 360 Imaging sounds like it is a magical upgrade to units with lower capability. So I could get a Helix 12 Chirp GPS G2N unit, link it to a 360 Imaging Transducer, and have the ability to view both SI and DI on the non SI or DI unit? Another great video!
Sick video!! Thanks for sharing! Quick question: if I have a helix 10 chirp MSI g2n on the helm, can it be networked with an ice helix 7 chirp g3n All Season??? Thanks again a ton for the info
If I have a Helix 9 GN2 DI up front and a 10 GN2 SI at the console, can I read the SI at the bow from the transducer at the back of the boat? Or do I have to have 2 SI units? Thanks!
+Joe Sofia Yes you can Ethernet HELIX to CORE Series Ethernet Compatible Units Examples 958c, 999ci HD, 998c are Ethernet Compatible 997c, 987c was not Ethernet compatible
Doug, looking for best option to take advantage of bow-mounted MK Terrova with US2 Sonar and my Helix 12 Mega... No reason not to see what's coming under the bow before the hi-def helix view off the back.. Sounds like I need to get another screen to show the info on, then share it back to the 12. If so, best recommendation?
Doug, What kind of interference issues would I have running a Helix 10gen2 for 360 and using a Helix 10mega DI at the same time? Basically having one helix exclusively for 360. Or would u recommend simply using a Helix 12 Mega DI for both 360 and DI/2d
Doug If I have a helix 10 si and I want to purchase a helix 7 di & the Ethernet switch can they talk to each other on your video you mentioned the helix 9 only
That was prior to the HELIX 7 GSN being released. Need to make sure you get HELIX 7 that offers networking. There is 2 different HELIX 7 networking and non-networking versions
Doug Vahrenberg Thanks for replying looking into buying a addition helix 10 or 9 but sonar gps can it have the same features as my main helix 10 si if I set it up to use my transducer from my main unit
Hello Doug. I own a Helix 10 DI as my front unit. If i buy a Helix 9 SI to my consol I can share transducers with ethernet and have a side image on front unit? Thanks
You would have to purchase HELIX 9 SI and it can share both SI&DI to the HELIX 10 DI but you will not be able to use the DI data from the HELIX 10 at the same time.
Hello Doug. I currently have a 899 SI combo. I am in the process of upgrading possibly to Helix 12 G3. You previously advised me that I could share way points with ethernet connection. My question now has to do with possible interference. I was planning to leave the 899 on boat and use for mapping only, then use the Helix for everything else. Should I be concerned with the 899 interfering with the new Helix if only used for mapping. Would removing the transducer for 899 be beneficial regarding avoiding interference. I could and will just remove 899 if needed, but thought I would leave it if I can get any benefit from keeping it on boat. Any thoughts/ advice that you can give me? Thanks!
Hi. I have a question. I currently have an 858C HD DI and yesterday purchased a Helix 9 Mega SI GN2. I was planning on just selling the 858. However, I run a Lakemaster chip and have tons of waypoints. I really like the idea of auto chart live, especially since Lakemaster does not cover lake Ontario or small local lakes. (I fish out of Buffalo, lake erie mostly but sometimes run fall salmon on lake ontario). Is it possible to just limit networking to gps data only? I would like to run the lakemaster chip on the 858 and just use that for basic navigation and run Autochart live on the helix. At some point I could just use the autochart maps that I create but until i am able to map what i need, I still need to use the lakemaster chip. The problem is that the 858 does not have gps built into the head so I would need the two units to be able to share gps location information from the gps puck I currently already have on the bow. Thanks much and any information.
You can share the GPS Reciever to other units and should be able to do the same so you could use the 858c for Mapping and the HELIX for other items and share the GPS Waypoints, Receiver. Can't share Map Data
+Garrett Sudicky You can share technologies with HELIX Ethernet Compatible Units as shown in the video. The Data will be created on the unit capable and can be shared to the other (non-capable) unit. Like in this example a SI unit to a non-SI unit.
Doug, I have a Solix 12 and a helix 9 G2N that I am looking at networking. If I do network them I know they will share GPS and sonar information but will my Solix share the map data from the Lakemaster chip that is in it to the Helix at the bow of the boat? Thanks, Corbin Davis
Doug, I have two Helix 10 SI Gen 1 units on my boat, If I upgrade the Dash unit to a Helix 10 Mega SI GPS unit can I use the Mega transducer via the network on my Gen 1 unit?
Doug Vahrenberg I'm setting up a new boat and have very little experience with fishfinders. I do want the self deploying Minn Kota with Ipilot link. Will the following setup give me the best of all worlds? 24v 80lb Ulterra with Ipilot Link. Humminbird transom mount 360* transducer (which should work in tandem with the trolling motors sonar only built in transducer? Two Humminbird Helix 10 G2N GPS units (one MEGA SI and one CHIRP) networked together with the three transducers on the boat giving the ability to see regular sonar, DI, SI, MEGA, CHIRP and 360* imaging from either of the Helix units, and split screen ability of most image types simultaneously.?
IF i have US2 sonar on Ulterra Troller at bow. Helix 9 G2N SI bow Helix 9 DI G2N console just 1 Mega transducer at the transom. Under networking..... what is the best selection to get the best SI 2D and DI for both units?
Thanks for the video Doug. Very helpful for my networked Helix 12's.

You can share sonar data with the HELIX network. Just need to set up source in network menu where the data is coming from.
Can a helix unit network with a 900 series unit? Thanks for all your great videos Doug!

I have not run MEGA imaging on the trolling motor because I can not give up my 360 love it too much but it should work too

You need to run the DI in different frequency than the 455kHz that 360 uses. I run dual units and in very few cases ever get any cross talk.
Doug

Correct the HELIX can share Sonar Data from the Unit Creating the Data to other units on the Network.

Hey Doug is it possible for a helix 10 g2 si transducer to link sonar capabilities with a 999?? Please help thanks!

If running on the same frequency it could. If it does you could use for Mapping only and you can turn sonar off.
Hey Doug I have 2 helix 9s one has side imaging can i hook the two together and share side imaging from the rear to the front
If they are the same generation of HELIX they can share Sonar Data
@@DougVahrenberg thanks Doug what do I have to get to do the job

@@DougVahrenberg - okay thanks. I have since been doing more reading and come up with different plan. Thanks for your response.

+Doug Vahrenberg thanks
What kinda mounts do you use with your Helix units to stack 2 units on top of each other?
+Brian Dimont I customized a RAM to make it solid but will probably do the same on my new boat with TH Marine KONG Mount since it's stronger.
+Doug Vahrenberg okay thanks!
Doug,
I have a Solix 12 and a helix 9 G2N that I am looking at networking. If I do network them I know they will share GPS and sonar information but will my Solix share the map data from the Lakemaster chip that is in it to the Helix at the bow of the boat?

They can share GPS Waypoints but Sonar Sharing and Map Sharing will not share between the different series only within series. SOLIX to SOLX.
The network source option does not even come up on my screen. How do I fix that?
Doug, I have two Helix 10 SI Gen 1 units on my boat, If I upgrade the Dash unit to a Helix 10 Mega SI GPS unit can I use the Mega transducer via the network on my Gen 1 unit?
It can share the data I think. I have not personally tried I would contact Hummnbird Customer Service to be sure 800-633-1468
OK, thanks.
Does the helix 7 gps compatible with the network ?
What is the temp 1 temp 2 and temp 3? And what does it do?
can you use one lakemaster plus chip and share it to both units
Ma Sharing is not a Feature of the HELIX Series. ONIX can share map data.

US2 is only 2D sonar and will limit the units to t 2D only unless you subscribe to other units transducer
Is it possible to link a helix 10 and a 997c
997c is not Ethernet compatible. Must be Ethernet compatible to network with HELIX 10
