I have two Lowrance elite FS units. They are networked with Ethernet but not NEMA. I feel like I’m really missing out. If I install NEMA with my FS units, will the function be available to do the programming on my ghost for the three additional foot pedal buttons? Or do I have to have HDS units with NEMA for that?

Do I need to have the nema to get my engine data for solix units or can that be done by Ethernet?

Humminbird hoses you when networking helix units. You need lots of dongles especially if you're using an i pilot

Is Map sharing on Helix something they could add in the future with a software update?

Possibly, but I wouldn't expect them to do it. That is one of the selling points on the more expensive unit!

After watching this video today I called Russell Marine with questions. They promptly called me back (sorry don’t remember his name) and I explained what I was trying/wanting to do via NMEA2000. He gave me my options and was able to order right then. Could I have gone to Amazon or someplace else to save a few $? Possibly but customer service means the world. These guys are awesome and know their stuff. Thanks guys!
