These old machines look pretty clunky and scary when they are so neglected.
But when they are restored like this they truly look like a piece of art!

This is the first bench grinder I have ever seen that has a balancing hub. I see them all the time on surface grinders, but never on a bench grinder.

Factories never build anything as perfectly as you do when you restore their products. Your stuff is better than new.
Bullshit....These old german factories like VEB in this case have built their machines with great perfection! These german goods last for decades, and after being nicely restored like that they are ready for many more to come. All my machines are made by Flott, look it up and you know what perfection is.

Only 1 think bothers me...I believe the new bearings are a bit noisy when you switch off the bench grinder. I hear a ballbearing sound which I don't like. Sorry...I think something is wrong with a ballbearing. I don't know the orice of the ballbearings yiu use but I can tell you from my experience cheap bearings are usualy no good...

Übrigens haben du und My Mechanics mich mit euren Videos so verwöhnt, dass praktisch kaum ein anderer Restaurierungskanal eine wirkliche Chance hat. 🤣
Ich leide höchstens und denke beim Anschauen: "Mensch, mach doch die Gussmarken weg!" "Wieso feilst du die Kanten nicht ab und rundest die Ecken nicht?" "Hey, da müssen doch die vielen Macken gefüllt werden." "Wie bitte? Ohne Grundierung geht das ja mal gar nicht."
Kurz: Mein innerer Monk dreht bei schlechten Kanälen frei.

Wow, right down to the stator and windings. I thought I was a little OCD with my cable-trays, switchboards, machine rebuilds, etc... you have me beat hands-down. Not that one has time when there are a dozen other things to do/fix and you're being paid. Lovely job and great old machine back in service.

I have a Wilton vise from a great Grandfather that was a Machinist that I hope I can get it restored because I sure can’t . Keep them coming and GOD BLESS .

Nice work but I'd preferred you restored it to the original Hammerite finish. The filler, not really necessary, never even had any from factory! Consider using a bug repellent!
