My definition of value is anything that improves experience.
You can break that down into 2 ways: something that saves you time doing work, or anything that otherwise invokes neutral or negative emotions.
Or something that invokes positive emotion. So like the speaker said, he values Love, honor, friendships (all positive emotions).
I bet he also values anything that reduces time spent NOT doing those things, for example values the dishwasher so he can spend more time with friends and family instead of with dishes
